Abstract

The counseling activities of environmental health through environmental sanitation and hygiene as an effort to improve the quality of public health in Soslotek Village, Kaure District Jayapura Regency, have been conducted on August 20, 2020. The activity aims to motivate the community about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental health in supporting community health, as well as to provide understanding to the community in protecting the environment in order to avoid diseases caused by an unhealthy environment. The methods used in this activity were lectures, discussions and questions as well as answers. This activity has succeeded in involving 26 people from various backgrounds such as youth, students, mothers and fathers. The implementation of counseling activity of environmental health began with self-introduction by the team of presenters, then the team of presenters tried to dig basic knowledge of the community about sanitation and environmental hygiene through the introduction of the surrounding environment such as the use of environmental units for settlements, gardening, traditional ceremonies, bathing, and washing as well as latrines (MCK). After obtaining information about the basic knowledge of the community, the team of community service activity then presented the important materials of environmental health about how to manage a good environment to create a clean and healthy environment. With the existence of this community service activity on environmental health, hopefully it can increase the knowledge of the residents of Soskotek Village about a style of healthy life for the sake of creating a better quality of life, and is able to increase the awareness of the people of Soskotek Village to participate actively in maintaining cleanliness and environmental health.Keywords: :  environmental, management, sanitation, community, jayapura

Abstract

The application of science and technology in the form of online counseling with a Zoom Meeting entitled "Cyber-Bullying in the Legal Aspects" was held at SMA Negeri 3 Jayapura and Youth and Youth Environment RT 005 / RW 007 Kota Baru Village, Abepura District, where most of the participants are children of age school and youth. This counseling aims to understand about Cyberbullying and its causes, as well as to know the various forms of cyber-bullying and its various legal aspects. The result of this activity was that the counseling conducted online through the Zoom Meeting was well received by the participants, with good response indicators from participants who enthusiastically gave weighty questions that were raised in the question session. In the end, education about the impact of cyber-bullying must be carried out with the target of school age children and teenagers as a preventive effort in dealing with cyber bullying to children and teenagers.Keywords: cyber, bullying, cyber-bullying, law, abepura

Abstract

Located in Jayapura regency, Sentani lake is the bigest lake in Papua Province with total area 9360 ha and it has maximum depth. Geographycaly, the position of this lake is 70-90 m above sea level at coordinate 2°33’ - 2°41’ S, 140°38’ – 140°38’ E. Sentani lake is the main producer of freshwater fish in Jayapura Regency and it support the livelihood of local people especially the local fishermen. The change of habitat and biota of Sentani lake mainly due to the activities of people living around. One of the bigest threat for this lake is habitat break down and exotic species introduction.  As a consequence, recently Sentani lake has becoming the most threatean freashwater ecosystem. The aim of this activity was to  raised the awarness of citizen regarding the important of sentani lake through conservation. Seminar and questionaire are methods use for the activity. The citizen target was young age (PAM and PAR) at local church (GKI Siloam Waena, Jayapura). The result of this activity shown that only 41,3% of PAR and 40,45% of PAM (respondents) has understanding the important of lake conservation. However, after the activity their understanding is increased to 71,8% and 65,91% for PAR and PAM respectively.Keywords: Sentani lake, Jayapura, freshwater ecosystem, freshwater fish

Abstract

Flood often happens in Sentani, especially when heavy rains. Flood usually is related to people’s ignorance in preserving their environment, i.e. illegal logging, water and land pollution. Children as the future generation have to know how to respect and preserve nature. This inisiative is utilizing folklore as media to learn environmental preservation in SD Negeri INPRES Kleublouw using folktales, oral poems (ehabla) and traditional poverbs that are almost extinct. The objectives of the activities are (1) giving awareness about  the importance of preserving natural environment, (2) motivating teachers and pupils about learning using local sources, (3) encouraging revitalization of Sentani cultural heritages. Both teachers and pupils of  SDN INPRES Kleublouw were involved.  From the activity, it is hoped that Sentani children and teachers have freedom in utilizing contextual sources not only as materials of teaching-learning and but also using them as media of relearning and disseminating Sentani folkore and all the socio-cultural values embedded in them.Keywords: folklore Sentani, environment, folktale, oral poems, traditional poverbs

Abstract

Learning is a complex proces, involving many component inside. One of the component that play a bigest role in learning is the teacher. Teacther has three main roles; as a designer, an executor, and an evaluator. This activity aims to 1) Give train to teacher and student to construct the props for electricity ad it vibration; 2) Develop the understanding of student regarding electricity and vibration subject; 3) Improving teachers ability to use contextual approach in physics learning. Abstract

The garbage is a problem in human life in the world. The problem of garbage to exists in our environment, due to the production of garbage every day. The production of organic fertilizer requires technology aimed at producing environmentally friendly and good quality organic fertilizer by making a composter kit. The objective of this community service is to introduce the training program for making Composter Kit for organic fertilizer production. This activity was held on September 2020 at SMA Negeri 2 Skanto Keerom. The target audience involved in this activity is high school students. The selection of target audiences is based on the duties and obligations of students to develop Adiwiyata High School that loves the environment. The methods used in this activity are lectures, simulations and practices on making composter kits for organic fertilizer production. The conclusion was that the participants were enthusiastic and knew the results of various organic waste products, both liquid and solid, which were produced by the composter device they made. Based on the results of the evaluation, it shows that the level of participant satisfaction is high when viewed from the percentage of all aspects. Abstract

Garbage is one of the serious environmental problems faced by developed and developing countries. The objectives of implementing community service activities are: (1) increase the knowledge of teenagers and the youths members of GKI Siloam Waena church, about waste management through the introduction and practice of inorganic waste management directly into various recycled creations, and (2) increase the awareness of teenagers and the youths members of GKI Siloam church, Waena about waste management by empowering them in managing inorganic waste into various recycled creations. Lecture and demonstration methods used in this activity. The steps are as follows: (1) lectures to deliver material about waste, types of waste, sources of waste, waste management and 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle), and inorganic waste management into various recycled creations, (2) followed by questions and answers, (3) a demonstration of the procedures or techniques for making preparations from inorganic waste by showing and using supporting tools to facilitate training participants in working, and (4) the practice of making various recycled creations.
