Abstract

Sago is a plant that has high nutritional value if it is processed according to production standards. Sago contains the Glycemic Index so it is very good for health, especially for diabetics. The process of making sago snack production in the form of training conducted in Yabansai Village, Heram District, Jayapura City. The method used was the participatory observation method of the object where the lecturer team implementing the activities and the training participants observe and were directly involved (face to face) in each step of their work. In addition, interviews were conducted with community service supervisors with target fields who were PKK mothers who had spare time and had not yet been used to produce something of added value to their family's economy. The activity began with a lecture related to the health benefits of sago as well as a lecture on the implementation instructions for the process of making sago snacks from the preparation of ingredients to the mixing and frying process of snack ingredients and ending with packaging. The end result of this activity provides benefits for activity participants to know and understand that the sago material consumed can be beneficial for health. Participants were also motivated to make sago snack businesses both individually and in partnership to open jobs, especially for those who have spare time and have been wasted so far. Participants understood that if a business wants to grow, it must have a permit from BPOM and a halal certificate from MUI. The important thing that impacts at least two things, 1) preservation of the source of sago material (sago tree) as a typical plant that is only found in certain areas.2) the use of sago raw materials to become a snack product with high economic value and in turn it can create jobs for the general public. Keywords: Sago; health; snacks; participants; motivated; business unit

Abstract

SD YPK Martin Luther Sentani is one of the elementary schools in Sentani Kota Village. Most of the teacher didn't use any tools in teaching mathematics when they explain about the concept of mathematics. The students study mathematics more by direct explanation from the teacher and followed by exercises that only just about calculating. Whereas, children at the elementary school needs to use a concrete medium in the learning process to understand the theory of mathematics, because they still in the early step of how to think concretely and they need a fun learning method. Monotonous learning make students bored and not interested in learning. Moreover, the knowledge and skill of the teachers in designing the tools that lead to the process are still low. By considering this problem that faced by the teachers of SD YPK Martin Luther Sentani, then there is need to make a program that involved the teachers. The purpose of this program is to informed or to introduce some tools to the teachers that are useful to make the students understand the mathematics more easily, and how to implement in the classroom. In the implementation of this program, using three methods, they are by lecture, ask and question, and games method. This program has increased the understanding and the knowledge of the teachers about using props in the classroom in order to increase the understanding of the students about mathematics concept and to stimulate interest and motivation of the students in SD YPK Martin Luther Sentani. Keywords:  elementary school; mathematics learning; tools; teachers; number

Abstract

The high biodiversity in Papua can be used as biology learning material and an educational laboratory model for students in Repang Muaif Village. The diversity of animals, plants and microorganisms can be introduced or shown easily in the classroom to students with a learning medium. Facts in the field show that most teachers still provide biology material verbally without adequate media or teaching aids. This kind of learning model will inhibit the development of reasoning, interest and motivation of children to learn biology. Most biology teachers carry out learning without props because they do not have much time to provide it or do not have adequate tools / materials in school. Teachers at the nature school in the Rhepang Muaif should be able to take advantage of the existence of invertebrates in the forest around the school as learning media or teaching aids for their students. One effort that can be made to develop instructional media in schools is to introduced a technique for making invertebrate bioplastics/embedding. The purpose of this training was to introduce and practice directly the collection techniques and to introduced a technique for making invertebrate bioplastics/embedding to participants in Rhepang Muaif. This training was held on 7-9 September 2020 in Rephang Muaif Village, Nimbokrang, Jayapura-Papua. The target audience involved in this activity are young people who will become prospective teaching staff at this natural school. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on education in Indonesia. The learning process that was initially carried out at school became learning carried out from home online. This condition caused the unpreparedness of various parties, including students who live at the Balim Yalimo Orphanage in Jayapura City. To overcome this, PKM activities are carried out which aim to improve the ability of students at the orphanage, in using the Google Classroom application as a support for online learning. The method used is a training and mentoring which consists of 3 stages, namely the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results obtained are that from 70% of participants who use Google Classroom as an online learning application, there are 43% of participants who are able to use the application well. However, after participating in the training, there was an increase in the ability of participants to use the Google Classroom application by 42%.Keywords: application; google classroom; training; online learning

The occurrence of flash floods in Sentani claimed many victims, some suffered minor and serious injuries that could not be counted, as well as many people's houses that were washed away and damaged so that the community was placed in refugee camps prepared by the government. To deal with the people affected by the flash floods that occurred in Sentani, the government could not reach out to the entirety to evacuate the evacuation sites that had been prepared. Some of the refugee campsprepared by the government do not have facilities for the community's necessities of life, namely MCK. The materials used to build MCK houses are light steel, the process is easy to do. simple and practical. In this service, we provide training to students and the community how to cut canal C or mild steel using a hand grinder. Likewise in the assembly of bolts to the frame using a hand drill for both installation and removal if there is an error. This training is easily accepted and carried out by KKN students and the community, so that the making of MCK can be completed properly and used by the community of Kampung Asei Kecil Telaga Maya.
