Abstract

The problem in this research involves undeveloped BAPV usage yet and also still minimal the usage of solar modules application on a building in the region of Banda Aceh, especially in office building, institution building, and others. For these reasons, the authorconducts an energy assessment of BAPV system. The method used in this study of energy is simulation using helioscopesoftware and theoretical calculations. The monthly average of electrical energy required in 2015 was 12.3 MWh per month or 411 kWh per day, if the estimated rise of energy usage by 10% in the next year, the energy generated annually from BAPV system on the roof of the Aceh Polytechnic Building at 18 MWhper monthor600.5 kWh per day with a capacity charge controller used is 5861.8 A and the capacity of used battery is 64.487 Ah, or 172 batteries with a voltage of 12 volt with each capacity of 375 Ah and theused panel tilt angleis 25o.

Abstract

An automatic parcel sorting is used for sorting the shaped box parcel to increase efficiency in the sorting process. In this research, the sorting machine is developed by implementing fuzzy logic controller using cameras on otomation system. Fuzzy logic is implemented to determine the size of the box based on broad sides of a package surface. Automatic sorting machine formed from conveyor belt can sort an object using DC servo motors. Cameras as vision sensor are utilized to detecting object with an accuracy of 87.5%. The experiments shownthe implementation of fuzzy logic controller in automatic parcel sorting can sort for three sizes classification of parcel with percentage of success are more than 80%.

Abstract

Shaft and roll bending is an element of a machine used for rolling pipes, bending pipes to curved and formed the desired angle. Roll operations often accept the burden that intersect between the pipes and the roll. The load will result in stress and strain. To make roll work safely, the various stresses and strains that occur must be calculated by using numerical simulation software to determine stresses and strains that occur on the shaft and roll bending. The bending of the shaft caused by a given load on the axis is F = 3382.339 N, and the loading on the roll bending that occurs on the surface of the exposed pipes is equal to F = 3361.51 N. Distribution of maximum shear stress that occurs in the shaft mounted roll bending is = 135.3 MPa. The maximum shear stress distribution that occurs in roll bending is = 69.91 MPa. The maximum strain distribution that occurs in roll bending is max = 9.088 x10-3 Mpa, and the maximum strain distributionthat occurs in the shaft is  max = 2.507 x10-3 Mpa. With these results, shaft and roll bending can work safelybecause the voltage that occurs does not exceed the voltage that occurs on the shaft and roll.

Abstract

Technology progress is closely related to human efficiency in doing their jobs, one of them is the parking system.The high frequency parking vehicle out of a parking space would allow a computer to replace the role of human. The researcher will make a system that can recognize license plate automatically and have security system toward the license plate itself. License plate recognizing system in this research uses template matching method. Data collection method was conducted in the afternoon and night to know the effect of light intensity level toward system performance. In the afternoon, there were 9 of 10 correctly identified test images (90% accuracy). However, at night there were 8 of 10 correctly identified test images (80% accuracy). As a result, the total of system accuracy in the identification process was 85%. In the angle test of 0⁰ and -15⁰were obtained an accuracy 16.7% and 6.7%, while in the other angles can't be identified correctly. In the distance test of 1m was obtained an accuracy 12.7%, whereas in the other distance testscannotbe identified correctly. In data security process, the identified test images (in this case as plaintext) will be encrypted using cryptography hill cipher algorithm. From 20 plaintext data, there were 20 data that encrypted correctly, in other words cryptography hill cipher algorithm accuracy in the system was 100%.

Abstract

Monitoring of water level as aflood disaster early warning based on SMS uses arduino as a controller of all systems. electronic devices that have important roles in this system consistof probe sensors as the altitude and low tidedetector, GSM SIM 900A module as a sending mediator to handphone, and arduino as a system controller. The Warning information consists of standby-1 for the water level of 0cm-20cm, standby-2 for the water level of 20cm-30cm, and standby-3 for water level 30cm-50 cm. The three water levels are detected by the probe sensor. When the water touches the sensor, the sensor sends the data to be processed by arduino, then arduino commands GSM SIM 900A Module to send SMS to handphone in the form of water level warning and status. Besides sending the SMS as a warning status, arduino also send a warning signal in the form of buzzer sound when water level is in standby-2 and standby-3.

Abstract

The production processesof electronics parts faced with many constraints such as: shape, size, type, material, length, width, and height of enclosure and customized electronics module. Therefore, rapid production method is applied as the solution to hasten it.Rapid production method applied in this research consists of some variations of process, among of them; PDS(parametric drawing system), laser cutting machine, CNC PCB Router machine. PDS is used for processing enclosure design in which user interface PDS is assembled with VBA (visual Basic for Application) in CorelDraw X6.The advantage of PDS is the speed of drawing process is shorter than non-parametric. Laser cutting machine is used for processing enclosure production. CNC PCB router is used for processing of electronics circuits PCB production. The implementation results from laser cutting machine in acrylic materials with width 8 mm, are obtained with the speed 2 mm/s to 8 mm/s, and power 60 % to 90 %, while the implementation result from CNC PCB router for process of marking, routing, drilling, contouring in PCB FR4 materials is 1.55 mm in ± 11 minutes.

Abstract

Gas leakage in industrial areas will have negative impacts such as air pollution, loss, or even disaster. The occurrence of leakage can be caused by corrosion or from the valve crack in the pipe, and so forth. Therefore, it is necessary to have a system that can monitor the state of the gas pipeline so the possibility of leakage can be known earlier. This research has developed application of robot manipulator 4 DOF integrated with gas sensor that is MQ4 which placed at end of robot arm. The method used to determine the motion of the robot is trajectory planning in the form of cubic trajectory, where in this method the robot movement route will adjust the pattern of pipelines in cartesian coordinates. To determine the possibility of a leak of butane gas, observed the output signal from the gas sensor. If it exceeds 3.5 volts then the coordinates passed by the end-effector may leak. The experimental results show that robot manipulators with cubic trajectory planning are able to track paths according to the shape of pipes, and gas leaks can be detected by gas sensors.

Abstract

Chitosan is a modification of chitin contained in the shell of green mussel which is cationic and biodegradable in the environment. The green mussel shell waste has some great potential benefits because it contains chitin which can be used as the main ingredient for chitosan production for Cu metal adsorption (II). The adsorption was by varying concentration and contact time. The adsorption analysis on the metal content of Cu was done by using the Atomic Adsorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) of Shidmazu type AA 6300 made in Japan. Parameter obtained in this study are adsorption capacity and absorption efficiency of metal Cu (II). Value of adsorption capacity and adsorption efficiency concentration of 5 mg/L are 4,835 mg/g and 96,72 %. The adsorption follows Freundlich absorption isotherm with R2of 0,906 and Freundlich constant (Kf) of 3,3118 l/g and l/n of 0,361. The adsorption of 5 mg/L concentration follows the pseudo second-order kinetics model with kinetics constant (k2) of 0,687 mg/g/min.

Abstract

The quality of the transformer oil is very important in ensuring the continuity of operation and the life of a transformer. As a transformer oil insulation medium must meet the requirements such as the higher the penetration value the better the quality of the insulation. If the value of water content is too high then the water can reduce the breakdown voltage, and damage the insulation of transformer paper, so it can affect the color change on transformer oil. In addition, changes in the color of transformer oils are also influenced by the carbon content that occurs due to continuous heating in the transformer. Changes in the color of the transformer oil inevitably decrease the quality and durability of the transformer oil itself. The using of this digital image processing is to analyze the quality of Transformer oil based on Color on transformer oil. Where from the color shown by the transformer oil will be known the feasibility of transformer oil itself. The software design of the color information processing of the transformer oil image in this research was conducted by using Borland Delphi 7 due to its convenient and simple process. The result of the digital image processing in the color information from the transformer oil image with RGB (Red, Green and Blue) value have shown the transformer oil quality itself.

Abstract

Bus Tracking is an application that tracks bus position. Tracking System involves the installed Android App on smartphone. The application is built for bus and user. On the application, the map shows the bus location and provide the actual information to the users in different time interval. The server will store the data in the firebase database. Since it is real-time system, it automatically sends the information from the smartphone to the othersmartphones.
