Abstract

Introduction. Maternal and infant mortality in Indonesia is still quite persistent. Maternal knowledge of danger signs in pregnancy is one of the factors that can affect expectant mothers at high risk of pregnancy risk signs. Snowball is a multilevel discussion which eventually leads to consensus responses, while brainstorming begins with the group leader presenting a particular problem and then each participant responds with an opinion or feedback. The aim of this research is to find out the comparison of snowball and brainstorming methods on maternal knowledge about the danger signs of pregnant women. Method. This research uses a quasi-experimental design with a one-group design that is pre-tested and post-tested using the Snowball method and Brain Storming group. The population was 45 expectant mothers who made antenatal visits. The samples consisted of 26 expectant mothers who were selected by purposive sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by Marginal Homogeneity test. Result & Analysis. Before the health promotion, most respondents in the brainstorming group had sufficient knowledge (61.5%) and those with insufficient knowledge amounted to 38.5%. After being trained with the brainstorming method, respondents' knowledge increased to 53.8% with good knowledge, 38.5% with fair knowledge, and 7.7% with insufficient knowledge (p value 0.008). Meanwhile, 92.3% of the respondents' knowledge was insufficient and 7.7% of the respondents' knowledge was adequate (p value 0.008). However, after the health promotion, the respondents' knowledge changed to 46.1% moderately knowledgeable, 38.5% less knowledgeable, and 15.4% well knowledgeable (p value 0.013). Discussion. There is a significant difference in the knowledge of pregnant women before and after being promoted with the brainstorming and snowball methods. It is expected that the brainstorming health promotion method can be applied as one of the methods in improving the knowledge of pregnant women.

Abstract

Introduction. Metanil yellow is a synthetic coloring material used for textile products, wood paint, painting paint, and fur. Despite its use having been banned in the Regulation of the Minister of Health of Indonesia No. 239/MENKES/PER/V/1985, metanil yellow is still commonly found in the local community. In Indonesia, this coloring material is often misused to color various types of food, including herbs, crackers, noodles, tofu, and yellow snacks. The purpose of this research is to validate the analytical method for determining metanil yellow levels in herbal medicine of jamu using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. Method. In this research, the determination of metanil yellow levels was carried out by instrument analysis using the UV-Vis Sectrophotometric method. Result & Analysis. In the linearity validation parameter, the regression equation y = 0.0548x-0.01398 is obtained with an r² value of 0.9999, the LOD parameter is 0.11686 ppm, LOQ is 0.5620 ppm, the precision parameter RSD value obtained is 0.87% which meets the requirements of ≤ 4%. Furthermore, the results on the determination of metanil yellow levels in each sample A obtained a percentage of 0.00006755% ± 3.9260; sample B obtained a percentage of 0.000110% ± 10.5309; and sample C obtained a percentage of 0.0001023% ± 9.2998. Discussion. Given the very low concentration, it is possible that the yellow color in the herbal medicine samples is not completely caused by metanil yellow, but it might also be influenced by other natural ingredients with yellow pigments.

Abstract

Introduction. Health transformation in the digital era has brought fundamental changes in health services, including midwifery. About 80% of Midwife Independent Practices in Bandung City still use manual records. The management information system for Midwife Independent Practices, named "Midwifery Manager", is one of the innovations in the health sector. This study aims to analyze the increase in practicality, efficiency, positive impact, and effectiveness of the "Midwifery Manager" Management Information System in improving the quality of midwifery services at the place of practice of independent midwives. Method. The research was quantitative, with a pre-experimental design in the form of a pre-test and post-test design. The target population in this study were all midwives who had independent practice places in the Bandung City Region, which were 300 TPMB. The sampling technique in this study used proportionate random sampling, which amounted to 40 respondents. The data analysis techniques used are normality test, Wilcoxon test, and chi-square test. Result & Analysis. The results showed an increase in practicality, efficiency, positive impact, and effectiveness of the quality of midwifery services after the use of "Midwifery Manager", respectively with a value of p 0.000; p 0.000; p 0.00; and p 0.001 (<0.05) in the independent practice of midwives. Discussion. Using the Management Information System "Midwifery Manager" increases the practicality, efficiency, positive impact, and effectiveness of midwifery service quality, and effectiveness of midwifery service quality in the independent practice of midwives in the Bandung City area.

Abstract

Introduction. Public Health Efforts have been regulated in the Minister of Health Regulation on Health Centers, which is an activity carried out by health workers to maintain and improve health and to prevent disease aiming at families, groups and communities. In the context of these health efforts, activities are necessary for the utilization of natural medicines, by facilitating access to reliable information for the treatment of minor illnesses by health workers to be conveyed to the community. One of the works in the form of an application that helps pharmaceutical workers to obtain information on natural medicine quickly and precisely is called SI-OBAL (Sistem Informasi Bahan Alam/Natural Material Information System) web-based which can be used by pharmaceutical workers. The purpose of this research is to determine whether user satisfaction for optimal utilization of SI-OBAL in traditional medicine services at health centers in Semarang. Method. The method used was a prospective survey method with qualitative data measured by number and percentage. The population used was all pharmacy vocational staff working at the health center in Semarang. The method used to measure satisfaction is McLean and DeLone six parameters. Result & Analysis. The results of the research indicate that from the aspect of satisfaction measured, the results are 89.55% of pharmacy vocational staff are satisfied and very satisfied with having accessed SI-OBAL. Discussion. The optimization of health efforts in the community has significantly improved with the implementation of SI-OBAL in Traditional Medicine Services at the Semarang Health Center. Abstract

Ovarian torsion is one of the most common causes of adnexal abdominal pain. In this case, we report A 38-years old woman, P2002, who has been suffering from acute lower abdominal pain and a developing abdominal mass for the past year. Other complaints like fever or vaginal discharge were denied. Her last menstrual period (LMP) was one week ago. Transvaginal ultrasound examination showed a hypoechoic picture measuring 6.16 cm x 6.07 cm with a Whirpool sign (+) on left adnexa. She was diagnosed with ovarian cyst torsion. The patient then underwent a laparotomy cystectomy.
