Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program "Aku Baca" by PT Gramedia Yogyakarta in promoting reading interest among communities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The research background is based on Indonesia's low literacy levels, ranking 62nd out of 70 countries in the 2019 PISA survey. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection through semi-structured interviews with the deputy manager of PT Gramedia Yogyakarta. The findings reveal that the "Aku Baca" program is implemented through a multi-stakeholder strategy involving schools, regional libraries, literacy communities, and local government. Implementation strategies include establishing reading corners in schools, training for teachers and educators, storytelling and creative literacy activities, and digital technology integration. The program also involves empowering local communities as literacy agents and providing continuous mentoring. Program evaluation shows significant improvements in reading corner visit frequency, participation in literacy activities, and positive changes in students' attitudes toward reading activities. Digital technology integration supports the development of digital literacy and students' critical thinking skills. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions to CSR program development in the literacy field and serves as a reference for companies and other stakeholders in designing innovative and sustainable literacy programs.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as the third largest fatherless country in the world. This study aims to find out how the public perceives the role of fathers in the context of fatherhood as conveyed through the content of Tiktok @babeheji. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, which focuses on exploring the public's understanding of social media content, especially that related to the role of fathers in child rearing. The researcher conducted observations through the comments found on the TikTok account @babeheji. The results of the study indicate that the TikTok content @babeheji successfully conveys the message to the public about the importance of the father's role in raising a child. The appreciation expressed in the comment section serves as evidence that the content on the @babeheji TikTok account is not only entertaining but also serves as an aspiration for building an ideal family. This study makes an important contribution to mass communication theory and reception theory by demonstrating how social media content can influence audience perceptions and behaviors regarding the importance of the father's role and the role of social media in disseminating positive social values.

Abstract

Domestik violence remains a critical yet often hidden social issue with profound psychological impacts on victims. This study analyzes the 2021 Indonesian film Paranoia directed by Riri Riza to explore representations of domestic violence and its psychological consequences. Employing a descriptive qualitative method and Roland Barthes’ Semiotic Theory, the research examines denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings in selected scenes. The findings reveal symptoms such as emotional instability, anxiety, and recurring trauma, often triggered by interactions related to the perpetrator. Physical signs, such as cigarette burns, serve as symbolic representations of deeper psychological scars. The film also portrays the effects of trauma on family dynamics, particularly through overprotective behaviors. Ultimately, Paranoia demonstrates the power of film in raising awareness and encouraging social reflection on domestic violence.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face significant challenges as they navigate an increasingly competitive market. One effective strategy to enhance competitiveness is the use of social media, particularly Instagram. Croffle TOS, a snack business specializing in Croffle and Toast, established in 2021 in Umpur Harjo, remains relatively unknown to the public. This study aims to assist in the business development of Croffle TOS through digital marketing on Instagram by strengthening brand profiles, creating engaging taglines, and implementing promotional mix strategies. The analysis reveals that the lack of promotion on Instagram is a major obstacle in increasing brand awareness. By applying appropriate promotional strategies, such as attractive banners, engaging posts, and targeted consumer segmentation, it is expected to boost sales and expand brand recognition.
