Abstract

Maqashid al-Qur'an is a new discourse in the study of the Qur'an. Scholars are still debating his position in the study of the science of Ulum al-Qur'?n. Is it a separate discipline or is it part of another science. Many interpretation products are not oriented to Maqashid and are only a repetition of the products of previous interpretations or contestation of interpretations of thought. Therefore, the main object of this study is to provide a deeper understanding of the study of Maqashid al-Qur'an and how to apply the Maqashidi interpretation of Wa?f?, an Egyptian cleric. This research is a qualitative research and library research with a sociology of knowledge approach. The primary data of this research are the works of Wa?f? and the results of interviews. According to Wa?fi, the purpose of the Qur'an is the realization of the purpose of the surah, verse, and theme in the Qur'an. He asserted that the Maqashid al-Qur'an consists of five parts: general and specific objectives (Maqashid '?mmah and Maqashid Kh???ah), the purpose of surahs, verses, words, and letters in the Qur'an and according to him Maqashidi interpretation apart from being one of the various interpretations independently, it also penetrates and integrates into all the various interpretations that exist. Maqashidi interpretation is a style, perspective, as well as a variety of interpretations. The idea is unique because of the exclusivity in the variety of Maqashid and the method in finding the Maqashsid of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Tafsir At-Tanwir Muhammadiyah began with its publication in Suara Muhammadiyah magazine. Then, Tafsir At-Tanwir was published by conducting an online interpretation study through the Youtube channel media which allowed the conversion of Tafsir At-Tanwir into an audiovisual interpretation. Even though the presenter refers to the interpretation, there will still be new arguments to support his explanation related to the surrounding reality. Given this background, the aim of this study is to compare the interpretation of At-Tanwir on Youtube and the original interpretation of Tafsir At-Tanwir in Suara Muhammadiyah magazine. This type of research is library research using a qualitative approach that is netnographic in nature by collecting data and information contained in the video recording of the Tafsir At-Tanwir recitation of Q.S Al-Baqarah verse 143 in the Youtube Tarjih channel media. After that, it was analyzed comparatively with the original Tafsir At-Tanwir original in Suara Muhammadiyah magazine to compare the interpretation of the ummatan wasatha>. The results in this study indicated that the interpretation of the ummatan wasatha> on Youtube was transformedor there were additional changes. The cause for this is due to the context of the reality around presenter and the factors of audience participants following in the online Tafsir At-Tanwir recitation.

The practice of reading the Quran is decreasing among teenagers. Various activities have been carried out to encourage teenagers to read the Quran more often. The study was conducted to achieve the objective of identifying the level of frequency of Muslim teenagers reading the Al-Quran as well as examining the level of mastery of Muslim teenagers in reading the Al-Quran. This study was conducted qualitatively. The primary data source of the study is through observation and questionnaires to students of Tun Hussein Onn University Malaysia. A total of 72 respondents among Tun Hussein Onn University students were involved in this study. This sampling technique was chosen purposefully and was not based on probability. We aim the scope of this study at teenagers. The targeted age is individuals between the ages of 16 and 24, comprising Muslim teenagers only. We obtained secondary data sources through libraries, official reports and all related documents. This study found that the level of Quran reading among teenagers is at a moderate level. The level of mastery of the Qur'an is moderate to good according to findings. In addition, this study also found that there are not many young Muslims who master the knowledge of tajwid well. So, this study suggests a study on the level of teacher satisfaction with mastery and appreciation of the Quran among Muslim teenagers. We hope that Muslim teenagers, as well as the government and parents, as well as the media, give better attention and focus to the Quran.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural nation. With the condition of the pluralistic Indonesian society, tolerance is an attitude that must be instilled in order to create harmony between communities. Recently, there has been a polemic regarding the issuance of the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Religion Number 05 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Use of Loudspeakers for Mosques and Prayer Rooms by the Minister of Religion Muhammad Yaqut Chalil Qoumas. The purpose of this study is to find out the issue of regulating the use of loudspeakers in terms of using the glasses of Mufassir in Indonesia such as Buya Hamka, M. Quraish Shihab and Muhammad Hasbi ash-Shiddieqy. What is the meaning of tolerance in the Qur'an from the perspective of Indonesian commentators and the regulation of the use of loudspeakers in mosques and prayer rooms. This type of research is a qualitative research using a literature study (library research). The approach used is the character thematic approach. The primary data sources are the book of interpretation of al-Azhar by Buya Hamka, the book of interpretation of al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab and an-Nuur by Muhammad Hasbi ash-Shiddieqy. While the secondary data sources are the results of interpretive research on the concept of tolerance and the use of loudspeakers in the Qur'an and other scientific writings.Considering the rules for using loudspeakers for mosques and prayer rooms, the issuance has a good purpose to realize environmental comfort and religious tolerance. So this is in line with what is taught in Islam regarding tolerance, namely mutual respect and openness to existing differences in order to achieve the common good and avoid damage. In this case, lowering the voice in the use of loudspeakers is a form of Islamic tolerance that has been reflected.

Abstract

The study of the Qur'an, especially the historicity of the Qur'an, has attracted the attention of the world both among Muslims and non-Muslims. Therefore, the author is interested in bringing up this title because it is very relevant and will continue to be a discussion that arises from time to time. The research method used is the type of library research (Library Research). While this research is descriptive comparative. The results of the research that the authors found show that First: Arthur Jeffery Criticizing the belief of Muslims only believing in the history of the revelation of the Qur'an is a classical and unscientific reason, the compilation of the Ottoman Mushaf contained in it political issues of Usman, and the Qur'an not perfect to represent the previous heavenly books. Second, Manna' al-Qattan's rebuttal to the Historicity and Authenticity of the Qur'an, namely: The history of the revelation of the Qur'an is not an orthodox reason as in his book explains that if the Prophet wanted power for himself, he could attribute the Qur'an to to himself directly, because it is enough to elevate his position and make people submit to his power. Usman made the manuscripts not for political reasons but because of his concern about disputes that would occur if they were with different manuscripts. And finally, the Qur'an The Qur'an is a complement to the previous books so that it can cause divisions between Muslims. The similarity between one book and the previous books is a natural thing. Third: There is no definite reason to accept the argument from Arthur Jeffery's view because it is unable to show valid evidence. Jeffery's analysis is a historical study that still invites a number of criticisms. On the side of Manna' al-Qattan, linguistic analysis and based on the history of qira'ah in a mutawatir manner, shows the authenticity of the Surah al-Qur'an that exists today.
