Society has a growing view of how men and women act in their daily lives. However, some men or women act not according to these standards and many of them experience acts of discrimination. The discrimination received by the victims is also not only limited to verbal discrimination, many also receive physical discrimination, so many victims are psychologically disturbed, even to the point of experiencing physical injuries. For this reason, the author here focuses more on discrimination against feminine men and tries to make readers aware that this standard cannot be used as a reference to classify a person's gender and is not a reason for someone to be free to discriminate. The author's reason for focusing more on discrimination that occurs in feminine men is because it is feminine men who often receive this discrimination. In fact, because of the many cases that occurred, the term Toxic Masculinity emerged, which is an understanding of actions that do not accept the nature of men who do not act according to the standards developed in society and are also one of the causes of discrimination against feminine men. The author uses an analytical method in this writing, namely by doing a comparison between men who are categorized as normal and feminine, looking for the contrast, and the causes, and showing the response of the two types of men.

Indonesia is a pluralistic country. The Indonesian nation consists of many tribes, cultures, customs, and religions. Diversity can be a threat that gives rise to conflict on the one hand, but on the other hand, it can be an opportunity to build a life together from the diversity of potential and resources we have. Opportunities to build a life together need to be rooted in shared values of peace and solidarity. This research aims to provide one of the foundations for the values of peace, dialogue, and solidarity between religious communities, especially between Christianity and Islam, by rooting it in the meaning of the Biblical narrative regarding Abraham's burial in Genesis 25:7-11. With a hermeneutic approach, the author focuses on the events of Abraham's burial, especially the presence of Isaac and Ishmael to bury their father. The story of the meeting of Isaac and Ishmael, two figures who were later seen as representatives of Christianity and Islam, became the basis for weaving meaning and relevance for encounters and dialogue between two different religious communities.

The understanding of the relationship between the living and the dead is a problematic issue in Christianity, which generally separates the living and the dead. In contrast, traditional Simalungun beliefs recognize the existence of such a relationship, as seen in the ritual of mambere mangan na dob matei. This practice involves the provision of food for deceased ancestors, based on a deep respect for the ancestors as Naibata Nataridah (visible God), who are believed to bless the lives of their descendants. This study uses the literature study research method by conducting a literature review to analyze the Christian ethics of the ritual. The results show that through the Mambere Mangan Nadob Matei ritual, Simalungun Christians believe in the existence of a relationship between the living and the dead, which is based on respect for parents (ancestors) as Naibata Nataridah (visible God) who can bless the lives of their children.

Meanwhile, qualitative approach research is a way to answer research problems by assembling the data obtained. The research results show that Muhammadiyah's Ijtihad in responding to contemporary problems in Ambon City is not discriminatory. Muhammadiyah's Ijtihad in responding to modern problems (gender, feminism, and pluralism) in Ambon City does not conflict with the Qur’an and al-Hadith. This study presents a theoretical analysis of the imagination of nationalism which can become an epistemic anchor when discussing the idea of nationalism and its relevance for contemporary society. With a qualitative descriptive approach, the imagination of nationalism is analyzed as a theoretical perspective on nationalism which is very important when faced with various problems in global society today. These issues include the struggle for justice, freedom, human rights, and most recently the development of digitalization which can undermine the life of a nation. This theoretical idea of nationalistic imagination was built in discussing a social problem of indigenous peoples who were displaced by waves of capitalism that used state power to encroach on the living existence space of a group of indigenous peoples. This research, in the end, presents various theoretical perspectives regarding the imagination of nationalism which can enliven the discourse on various nationalist issues today.

Women’s voices and roles in human civilization often serve as a counter to the dominant power monopolized by men. The voice is prophetic, motherly, and embracing in the face of dominant forces that are often dominant, brutal, and destructive. The purpose of this article is to try to see the meaning of episode II Samuel 21:1-14 which is explored through socio-narrative interpretation with a feminist perspective. From the interpretation done in episode II Samuel 21:1-14 with Rizpah as a passive and sideline figure, it turns out that it can interrupt King David’s brutal and devastating political policies. This interruption supports a feminist movement today to remain critical of those in power who are pro-status quo. Episode I and II Samuel is analyzed first by placing this episode in the socio-political setting of I and II Samuel, then analyzing Rizpah’s role from a feminist perspective and finally looking at Rizpah’s interruption as a model for today’s prophetic voice.

This research aims to analyze the reality of the lives of scavengers, the problem of poverty that holds them hostage, and the role of the church in empowering scavengers. The scavenger profession is carried out due to the acute poverty problem experienced by urban communities. Scavengers work by picking up rubbish, such as aqua glass, bottles, iron, and various other rubbish that can be sold, to meet economic needs. Scavengers are always viewed negatively as poor people and often receive discrimination from society in general. Using qualitative research methods, this research conducted observations and in-depth interviews with scavengers to reveal the realities and life experiences of scavengers. Next, descriptive analysis was carried out to show the role and involvement of the church in empowering scavengers. This article finds that the presence of the church today is no longer just a ritual presence, but a presence that empowers people to face various social problems, such as poverty experienced by scavengers. This research offers a concept of churching with scavengers which emphasizes the church's mission to empower scavengers in facing the problem of poverty that binds them.

Toraja is widely known for its attractive cultural richness, which is preserved in Rambu Tuka and Rambu Solo. Toraja people see the term saroan as a community formed to strengthen social integration. This article, using qualitative methods and a descriptive phenomenological approach, aims to describe the phenomenon of friendship relations framed in the Saroan tradition. Data about saroan was collected through direct observation and semi-structured interviews, and a literature study was utilized to explore the theme of friendship. The research results found that friendship in saroan is lived by a moral bond that moves group members to be responsible and maintain the value of friendship in the act of mutual acceptance and respect (singga' sengkaran, siporannu, sipopa'di). The friendly relationship built in saroan goes beyond genealogical boundaries (rarabuku), as is also expressed in the book of Proverbs 17:17, about a friend who shows love at all times and becomes a brother in difficulties. Friendly relationships are built through openness and a willingness to give and receive. These values are the glue for harmonization in saroan.
