Abstract

Penulis mengkaji salah satu lagu opular “We Are The World”, dengan menggunakan pendekatan Revised Correlational yang ditawarkan Tracy dan Browning.

Abstract

The issue of violence against women not only occurs in the space of action or the form of direct violence but also in the way of indirect violence, among others through the understanding of the biblical text that discredit women. This study aims to carry out a postcolonial feminist interpretation of Ezekiel 16: 15-22. This text, if understood, literally contains pornographic ideological messages that confront women as victims. Qualitatively, the interpretative analysis approach helps the writer to reinterpret the meaning of Ezekiel 16: 15-22 and find its relevance to the feminist struggle in the present. For this reason, the study of literature is the choice of writing to study various references related to the issues discussed. The results of this study indicate that certain Bible texts written in a patriarchal context have a picture of discrimination against women. With the feminist postcolonial approach, the reinterpretation of discriminatory texts can be done by emphasizing that both men and women were created equally by God.

Abstract

Women’s voices and roles in human civilization often serve as a counter to the dominant power monopolized by men. The voice is prophetic, motherly, and embracing in the face of dominant forces that are often dominant, brutal, and destructive. The purpose of this article is to try to see the meaning of episode II Samuel 21:1-14 which is explored through socio-narrative interpretation with a feminist perspective. From the interpretation done in episode II Samuel 21:1-14 with Rizpah as a passive and sideline figure, it turns out that it can interrupt King David’s brutal and devastating political policies. This interruption supports a feminist movement today to remain critical of those in power who are pro-status quo. Episode I and II Samuel is analyzed first by placing this episode in the socio-political setting of I and II Samuel, then analyzing Rizpah’s role from a feminist perspective and finally looking at Rizpah’s interruption as a model for today’s prophetic voice.

Abstract

People always imagine “the day of the Lord” as matters that have relation with the second coming of Jesus Christ, a day of judgment, and the future. But, the concept of the day Lord as witnesses in the book of Amos is always related to the present time of Amos, not the future, as we had been imagining before. The purpose of this article is to examine the meaning of Amos 5:18-20 using the critical historical interpretation. The result shows  us that the meaning of the day of the Lord in Amos 5:18-20 is about the social justice renewal in society. This spirit of Amos’s prophecies enables  Christians, the church, and society to understand social justice renewal as the call of faith that must be continuously internalised and practised.

Abstract

This research investigates the implementation of environmental management programs within the Maluku Protestant Church (GPM), aiming to map their execution, identify influencing factors, and analyze congregational participation. A qualitative methodology guides this research. Data collection involves an in-depth literature review of GPM's environmental programs, coupled with interviews and focus group discussions with church officials, congregation members, and local community leaders in Maluku. The collected data will be analyzed to identify relevant patterns, trends, and findings concerning program implementation. The study concludes that environmental management within the GPM is an integral part of its Christian faith responsibility to preserve God's creation. A thorough understanding of program implementation, success factors, and congregational participation is expected to contribute to creating a better and more sustainable environment, aligning with Christian teachings on earth stewardship.
