Abstract

The economic factor is one of the keys to an area that can be said to be advanced and independent, until now the community is still dependent on expensive fuel, while how to use raw materials around the area in the Gading Kasri village is the right idea. One of the ideas to improve the economic factor of the community in the Gading Kasri village is how to convert waste into fuel. The benefits obtained are very large, including helping the community's economy, reducing plastic waste, and turning plastic waste into fuel that is useful for cooking, starting motorbikes, and other fuels. In this research, the design of the Combustion Optimization Tool for the Distillation of Plastic Waste into Oil Fuel (BBM) was made as an effective solution to produce an energy source in the form of gas oil with a maximum volume when compared to previous designs for similar devices. In this design, a plastic waste burner cross-section is made in the form of a circular crossbar so that the volume of waste and the effectiveness of combustion that is collected can be more in volume. Furthermore, this tool will be used by the community in the Gading Kasri Village so that it will be more beneficial for the community or general public.

Abstract

Tenganan Pegringsingan is one of the Balinese Aga or ancient traditional villages which is very unique and is expected to soon be included in the tentative list of world heritage lists to UNESCO. With this proposal, it is hoped that the number of tourists visiting will increase, so proper management is needed so that the negative impact does not damage the cultural landscape in the village. The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of the cultural landscape of the Balinese Traditional Village of Aga Tenganan Pegringsingan, and to analyze the potential and constraints that affect its sustainability. The method used is descriptive and spatial analysis. The results show that the potential that affects the sustainability of the cultural landscape is the tradition that is maintained. The spatial pattern is oriented towards spiritual and cosmological values based on the beliefs and customary law of the community's traditions contained in awig-awig (Bali customary law). The spatial structure of the settlements and the surrounding landscape in the form of hills are formed based on the concept of Hindu cosmological philosophy of the Indra sect, utama-madya-nista concept, and the concept of macrocosm and microcosm balance. It is recommended that the management of the landscape conservation concept of the Bali Aga Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village is a collaboration and integration of the concepts of natural resource conservation and the conservation of culture and traditions of indigenous peoples.

Abstract

Indonesia is an area consisting of many islands so it was formerly called the Nusantara. The Nusantara is influenced by the confluence of some of the most seismically active tectonic plates in the world. The Nusantara is an earthquake-prone area because it is located in the ring of the fire area. The Nusantara is also a humid tropical region with relatively hot air temperatures and high rainfall. These natural and environmental conditions are a challenge for the people of the Nusantara to build their dwellings. In responding to these natural challenges, various "intelligent" architectural designs of the Nusantara of the past have been realized. With limited equipment and knowledge of building structures, as well as the use of local materials, an architectural work that is adaptive and harmonious and pays attention to environmental sustainability is realized. Long before the environmental sustainability aspect was echoed by the United Nations through the SDGs, it turned out that the people of the Nusantara had first practiced it directly in their lives. This article was written with an explanatory descriptive method, a literature study approach using secondary data from several previous research articles grouped into several categories and discussions. This paper aims to show a small part of the "intelligence" of architectural design in the ancient Nusantara, so that it can inspire sustainable and contemporary architectural works of the Nusantara (Indonesia).
