Abstract

The curriculum changes in education in Indonesia, including the Islamic Education (PAI) subject at the Madrasah Aliyah level, aim to improve the quality of education in line with the development of the times. New curricula, such as the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum, bring various changes in teaching and learning approaches. This article aims to analyze the impact of curriculum changes on students' learning capacity in the PAI subject at Madrasah Aliyah. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review discussing the various impacts of curriculum changes on the understanding and application of PAI material among students. The research results show that curriculum changes have a positive effect on students' motivation, understanding, and character but also face several challenges in implementation. Therefore, a collaborative effort between teachers, students, and the madrasah is necessary to maximize the positive impact of these curriculum changes.

Abstract

The field of education has been profoundly transformed by advancements in information technology, particularly in teaching mathematics. This study thoroughly examines the current research trends in mobile learning (ML) for mathematics education until 2023. This study employed a bibliometric methodology to investigate the distribution patterns of publications in ML to achieve this goal. Specifically, the analysis focused on the following categories: timeline databases, document types of the most prolific countries, commonly used keywords by authors, and the evolution of thematic maps. Two hundred articles retrieved from the Scopus database were analysed and visualised using the Bibliometrix analysis suite from Scintopy software. The findings indicate that ML has emerged as a prominent area of research in mathematics education, with substantial growth observed since 2013, and the year 2019 reached its pinnacle with a record-breaking number of documents, precisely 26. Indonesia had the highest publishing output, with 16 publications, followed by the United States, Malaysia, South Africa, and the Philippines. The current trending subjects revolve around 'mobile learning', 'students', 'mathematics education', and 'e-learning'. There is no text provided. Following these fundamental principles, we can integrate ML in mathematics more comprehensively and extensively, enhancing future educational experiences. This research has the potential to establish a structure for comprehending previous studies and a systematic approach for conducting future research based on empirical evidence.

Abstract

In the era of digital and globalization, social media platforms have become an important part of daily life throughout society, especially among teenagers. One platform that is growing in popularity is TikTok, a short video sharing application that allows users to create, edit and share their creative content with an audience. However, the rapid growth of TikTok also raises concerns about its impact on teenage ethics. The method used is literature study, a technique carried out by collecting data from various sources, such as books, journals, etc. This research examines the ethics of using social media, especially the TikTok platform, through a literature study. TikTok, as one of the most popular video sharing applications, has a significant impact on user behavior and digital culture. This research identifies various ethical aspects, including privacy, dissemination of correct information, and the influence of content on teenagers. The analysis was carried out by referring to various literature that discusses ethical challenges in social media, such as privacy violations and the negative impact of harmful content. The findings suggest that users and content creators need to increase awareness of their ethical responsibilities to create a safer and more positive digital environment. Recommendations are aimed at developing ethical guidelines that are acceptable to TikTok users and other stakeholders.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' problem-solving abilities and learning independence. Motivated by the low problem-solving skills in mathematics, caused by a lack of varied learning models and student inactivity, the study compares students receiving PBL treatment with those undergoing conventional learning. A quasi-experimental method was used, involving a pretest, posttest, and learning independence questionnaire. The study was conducted in the 2023/2024 academic year with 8th-grade students from SMP PGRI Walantaka. Results show that students in the PBL group had significantly better problem-solving abilities compared to those in the conventional group, with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating the effectiveness of PBL. Additionally, the average learning independence of students was 79%, categorized as good. The findings suggest that PBL can improve both problem-solving abilities and learning independence in mathematics education.
