Abstract

Quality education is an indicator of the success of educational institutions in implementing the role of education management appropriately. This article intends to describe and examine the application of the role of direction and control in educational management at the Panggudi Luhur Domenico Savio Junior High School Semarang. Data obtained through in-depth interviews with informants and documentation. Data analysis uses the method discovered by Miles and Huberman. The research concludes that Panggudi Luhur Junior High School Domenico Savio Semarang applies the function of directing and controlling function in education management well. The directing function is carried out by the principal by guiding, suggesting, giving encouragement, directions and instructions so that teachers and employees personally and communally can work hard, work fast, work productively as well as cooperate and work together well, correctly, according to their duties and functions. Internal and external control is carried out by conducting academic supervision to determine the quality and quantity of teacher work in carrying out its role in planning, implementing and evaluating learning based on quality standards set in the framework of achieving the school's vision, mission and goals.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Child-Friendly Schools (CFS) policies, especially in efforts to strengthen religious moderation from an anti-violence perspective. This qualitative study uses data collection methods in observation, documentation, and interviews with three informants, then analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of CFS has been endeavored to be as good as possible. The principle of implementing this policy is contained in the core values of the school's vision and mission, namely the values of love and care. Implementing CFS policies, especially in strengthening religious moderation from the perspective of non-violence, allows several changes in restorative practices in schools to create superior generations in the future. Anti-violence, if formulated based on the school's vision and mission values, religious and human values, and if implemented in the CFS program, can foster tolerance in students and teach them commendable behavior so they can fight against radicalism.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the forms of Catholic Parental Responsibility in Children's Faith Education, specifically in the field of koinonia, diakonia, and kerygma, which includes the forms of Catholic parental responsibility in children's faith education and the difficulties and challenges experienced by them. Catholic parents at St. Joseph Station Kampung Baru. This study uses a qualitative approach, observation, documentation and interviews from twelve informants are used to collect data. The results of this study indicate that responsibility is in various fields, such as koinonia which involves coaching in the form of gathering together in the family, giving advice on living in harmony, and teaching the values of mutual love; diakonia which includes coaching in terms of helping others, participating in church activities, and being involved in housework; as well as kerygma which prioritizes coaching such as reading and understanding the holy scriptures, giving reflections, and telling religious stories. However, several obstacles were also found, such as a lack of time between parents and children due to each other's busyness, challenges in managing time due to activities and work, and limited parental knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and describe of ceremonies honouring the dead person in the adat of the Dayak Aoheng, that can be practiced in the Light of the Catholic Faith as efforts to adapt a series of ceremonies honouring the dead person. The research was conducted among the Dayak Aoheng of the Semukung sub-group, who live in Long Apari and Noha Silat Villages, Long Apari District, Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan. This study uses a comparative qualitative method with interview data collection techniques and related document collection. The informants in this study were fifteen informants spread over two research sites. The results of the study reveal that there are several parts of the series of ceremonies honouring the dead person in the adat of the Dayak Aoheng that can be proposed for adaptation into the Liturgy of Death of the Catholic Church to enrich the Church's Liturgy and the local cultural wisdom. The series of ceremonies honouring the corpse that can be proposed for adaptation efforts are found in the series of ceremonies undertaken before the death and at the time of death, during the taking care of and caring for the corpse, during the praying for the corpse and consoling the family, and in the funeral ceremonies.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the social competence applied by Catholic Religious Teachers in three aspects, namely: 1) acting objectively and non-discriminatorily towards students, 2) communicating effectively, empathetically, politely with students, and 3) adapting to students who have social diversity and culture. The research was conducted at Barong Tongkok Catholic Junior High School, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Research data collection techniques use interview, observation, and documentation methods. There were informants in this study: the principal, teachers of Catholic religious education, students, and ordinary teachers. The results of this research show that the social competence of teachers applied by Catholic Religious Teachers is good, which is demonstrated by treating students objectively without discriminating, behaving, and acting fairly, giving equal attention and opportunities to all students. Teachers also act in accordance with their duties and functions, namely listening to the person they are talking to, speaking using standard language, being able to adapt and feel at home carrying out their duties as a teacher. In this way, the Child Friendly School Program becomes a forum for Catholic Religious Teachers to develop their social competencies well through collaboration with all school parties.
