Abstract

General Background: The youth are pivotal for national development and are increasingly required to navigate the complexities of a technologically advanced world. Specific Background: Despite this necessity, many young individuals are ill-prepared for technological engagement and often misuse these tools, which adversely affects their character. Character education is critical and must be integrated into both formal and non-formal educational systems. Knowledge Gap: While the role of Islamic boarding schools in character education is acknowledged, the specific contributions of teachers within this context remain underexplored. Aims: This research aims to elucidate the role of teachers in fostering a generation of religious professionals at the Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri, East Java. Results: Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, revealing that teachers serve as facilitators, motivators, and role models. Findings indicated that teachers received a high observation score of 91%, highlighting their effectiveness in character formation. Novelty: This study provides a comprehensive examination of how teacher involvement directly influences the development of religious character among students, emphasizing the multifaceted role teachers play in Islamic education. Implications: The results underscore the necessity for enhanced teacher training and support to strengthen character education in Islamic boarding schools, thereby equipping the next generation with the moral framework needed to successfully navigate contemporary challenges and contribute positively to society. Abstract

General Background: Quranic education plays a crucial role in shaping the religious character of students in Islamic educational institutions. Specific Background: However, the effectiveness of various teaching methods in facilitating student understanding and application of Quranic content remains underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Limited research has been conducted on the specific methodologies employed in Quranic teaching and their impact on character development within Islamic boarding schools. Aims: This study aims to analyze the Quranic education practices at Pondok Wali Barokah and their role in cultivating the religious character of students through effective teaching methods. Results: Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the teaching methods, particularly Manqul and As-Sama’, significantly enhance students’ comprehension of the Quran and Hadith while fostering attitudes aligned with Islamic teachings. Novelty: This research contributes to the literature by highlighting the practical implications of specific Quranic teaching methodologies on character formation, demonstrating their efficacy in instilling discipline, respect, and moral values in students. Implications: The results suggest that the successful implementation of these methods can serve as a model for Islamic educational institutions seeking to improve character education and cultivate a generation of knowledgeable and morally upright individuals prepared to positively contribute to society. Abstract

General Background: Education in Indonesia confronts a myriad of challenges, including regulatory frameworks, funding issues, and diverse implementation systems, which have led to concerns regarding the competitiveness of graduates in the global arena. Specific Background: One critical aspect of education involves character development among students, particularly in the context of the digital era. Knowledge Gap: While various educational interventions exist, the impact of religious practices, specifically the habituation of congregational dhuha prayers, on student character has not been extensively studied. Aims: This study aims to analyze the effect of habituating congregational dhuha prayers at SD Islam Al-Huda in Kediri on the character development of students. Results: Utilizing a qualitative approach through observation, documentation, and interviews, the findings reveal that this religious practice positively influences students' attitudes and discipline. Novelty: The research contributes to the literature by demonstrating that religious-based interventions can effectively enhance moral character in educational settings. Abstract

General Background: Character education is essential for fostering responsible decision-making and harmonious living among students in society. Specific Background: In Indonesia, the role of Islamic religious education (IRE) is critical in shaping the ethical and moral foundation of the nation’s youth, yet its implementation across various educational contexts remains inconsistent. Knowledge Gap: Despite the recognized importance of IRE, limited research addresses its impact on character development within specific educational institutions. Aims: This study investigates the character formation facilitated by Islamic religious education at SDI Plus Imam Muslim, examining both the positive outcomes and the challenges faced in this process. Results: Utilizing a qualitative approach, data collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis reveal that the IRE program at SDI Plus Imam Muslim has effectively integrated Islamic values into students' daily lives, leading to improved character traits such as respect and discipline. Novelty: This research highlights specific practices within IRE, such as communal prayer and daily rituals, that significantly contribute to character development. Abstract

The general background character education plays a crucial role in shaping moral and ethical behavior in students, particularly within primary education settings. In Islamic educational institutions, there is a notable emphasis on integrating religious values into character development, with a focus on habituation practices to reinforce these values among students. However, there is limited empirical research that specifically examines the effectiveness of Islamic habituation as a method for strengthening religious character in primary education. This study aims to explore the implementation and impact of Islamic habituation on religious character formation among students at Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo Elementary School. Findings reveal that the systematic application of Islamic habituation, including practices such as daily prayers, gratitude, and the 5S culture, significantly enhances students' moral behavior and engagement in religious activities. This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing evidence of the positive outcomes of religious habituation in an educational context, emphasizing its role in character education. The results suggest that integrating Islamic habituation into primary education not only fosters individual moral development but also promotes a supportive community environment conducive to religious learning, thereby reinforcing the importance of character education within the broader educational framework. The evolution of Society 5.0, characterized by advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), necessitates that Islamic higher education institutions adapt to these changes. General Background: The Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) aims to produce graduates who possess both Islamic values and professional competencies, particularly in AI. General Background: Audio-visual media are crucial in education, enhancing students' understanding and retention. Specific Background: In Islamic Religious Education (IRE), particularly during the Ramadhan fasting theme, effective use of audio-visual media can engage students actively. However, there is a gap in knowledge regarding their application in elementary schools. Aims: This study examines how teachers at Jagul State Elementary School utilize audio-visual media, specifically the animated series "Upin and Ipin," in IRE. Results: Through descriptive qualitative research, findings indicate that the implementation of audio-visual media significantly improves students' learning outcomes, as evidenced by increased motivation and comprehension. General Background: Pondok Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) are vital for character and knowledge development in Indonesia, especially in the study of faraid (Islamic inheritance law). Specific Background: At Wali Barokah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri City, students face obstacles such as ineffective teaching methods, limited resources, and challenges in understanding Arabic texts. Knowledge Gap: Existing research has not thoroughly analyzed these specific barriers and their impact on learning outcomes. Aims: This study identifies the obstacles faced in faraid education and offers strategic recommendations for improvement. Results: Using qualitative methods, the research reveals that methodological issues, insufficient materials, and rigid teaching styles significantly hinder student understanding and motivation. Novelty: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the barriers affecting faraid learning. Abstract: The 4.0 industrial revolution compels educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools, to adopt advanced digital library services for enhanced literacy. General Background: Many libraries, such as that of Al Fattah Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo, still depend on physical books and lack accreditation, resulting in outdated collections. Specific Background: There is a significant gap in structured digital library frameworks that provide extensive access to both general and Islamic literature. Aims: This study aims to develop a school development plan for a Bookless Library that enhances digital literacy. Results: Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study outlines a five-year strategic plan for implementing a digital library, utilizing QR codes for quick access to resources. Novelty: It proposes a global access model for the Bookless Library, allowing users beyond the server's immediate area to engage with digital resources. Implications: The expected outcome is a dynamic learning environment that promotes literacy and positions Al Fattah Islamic Boarding School competitively in a technology-driven educational landscape.
