Abstract

General Background: Islam places a high value on knowledge, making education a fundamental right and duty for all, regardless of gender. Specific Background: Historically, Muslim women played essential roles as educators and scholars, supported by Islamic teachings that promote learning. Knowledge Gap: However, in some Islamic societies today, especially in Afghanistan, women face restricted access to education due to social and political factors, despite Islamic encouragement. Aims: This research aims to reaffirm the right of women to education and work within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence and to propose appropriate educational models aligned with Sharia. Results: The findings show that Islam permits and, in some cases, obliges women to pursue religious and scientific knowledge, and allows work outside the home when necessary. Novelty: By referencing classical and contemporary Islamic sources, the study clarifies misconceptions and offers practical, religiously grounded solutions for women’s access to education. Implications: This research highlights the need for governments to create separate, safe, and Sharia-compliant educational environments for women, reinforcing their role in nurturing future generations within Islamic societies.Highlight : Education is a right and obligation for women in Islam, grounded in religious texts and scholarly consensus. Teaching both religious and natural sciences to women is essential for individual and societal development. Women's work outside the home is permissible in cases of necessity, while upholding Islamic principles. Keywords : Women, Education, Knowledge, Stratum, Work

Abstract

General Background: Globalization has reshaped educational landscapes worldwide, demanding institutions to remain adaptive, innovative, and competitive. Specific Background: In Indonesia, Islamic educational institutions—pesantren, madrasahs, and Islamic schools—play a strategic role in shaping human resources that are academically capable and spiritually grounded. Knowledge Gap: Despite their historical significance, these institutions often face stigma as traditional and less responsive to modern challenges, while limited studies systematically examine their integrative role in the globalization era. Aims: This study explores how pesantren, madrasahs, and Islamic schools adapt to global dynamics while preserving Islamic identity, and how their synergy contributes to improving national education quality. Results: Using qualitative analysis, the study finds that pesantren integrate local and global values through ecological curricula, madrasahs balance religious and general education while innovating in vocational and scientific fields, and Islamic schools with boarding models harmonize academic, spiritual, and social learning. Novelty: This research highlights the complementary roles of the three institutions, offering a holistic model of Islamic education that transcends the dichotomy between tradition and modernity. Implications: Strengthening collaboration among pesantren, madrasahs, and Islamic schools will foster inclusive, adaptive, and globally competitive education while safeguarding Indonesia’s cultural and spiritual identity.HIghlight : Pesantren integrate local and global values to strengthen student character. Abstract

General Background: Hermeneutics, as the philosophy of interpretation, plays a pivotal role in understanding texts across disciplines, from theology to cultural studies. Specific Background: Hans-Georg Gadamer and Jacques Derrida stand as two influential yet contrasting figures in this tradition, with Gadamer emphasizing dialogue, tradition, and historicity, while Derrida underscores différance, instability of meaning, and deconstruction. Knowledge Gap: Despite their profound influence, comparative epistemological analysis of their methods, particularly in relation to interdisciplinary applications such as Islamic studies, remains underexplored. Aims: This study aims to examine and compare Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics and Derrida’s deconstructive approach, highlighting their epistemological implications and potential contributions to modern interpretation. Results: The findings reveal that Gadamer’s model fosters historically grounded dialogue through the fusion of horizons, while Derrida’s deconstruction opens interpretive spaces by exposing contradictions and indeterminacies within texts. Novelty: By placing these two thinkers in direct comparison, this research demonstrates how their divergent approaches can complement one another, offering both contextual depth and critical reflexivity in interpretation. Implications: The study provides a theoretical and practical framework for applying hermeneutics in philosophy, humanities, and religious studies, advocating a more inclusive, dynamic, and critical interpretive practice suitable for addressing contemporary academic and societal challenges.Highlight : Gadamer emphasizes tradition, history, and dialogue in the process of understanding texts. Derrida reveals the instability of meaning through the method of deconstruction. Both contribute significantly to the development of contemporary hermeneutics Keywords : Comparative, Hermeneutics, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Jacques Derrida, Epistemology3

Abstract

General background: Academic stress is a common psychological challenge faced by adolescents, often influenced by social and environmental demands. Specific background: Previous studies suggest that social support contributes to students’ well-being, yet its association with academic stress in Islamic school contexts remains underexplored. Knowledge gap: Limited evidence exists regarding the relationship between social support and academic stress among high school students in faith-based educational settings. Aim: This study examines the correlation between social support and academic stress among students at SMA Al-Islam Krian. Results: Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 213 randomly selected students out of a population of 1,308, measured with Likert scales and analyzed with SPSS correlation tests. Findings revealed a weak but significant negative correlation (r = -0.225, p = 0.001 < 0.005), indicating that higher social support is associated with lower academic stress. Novelty: The study highlights the role of social support in reducing academic stress within the context of Islamic education. Implications: Strengthening peer and community support systems may help students manage academic demands and maintain psychological well-being. Highlights: Weak but significant negative correlation between social support and stress. Novel insight from students in an Islamic high school context. Practical implications for improving support systems in education. Keywords: Academic Stress, Social Support, Adolescents, Psychological Well-being, Islamic Education

Abstract

General background: Youth unemployment remains a persistent challenge in Indonesia, particularly among vocational high school graduates. Specific background: Despite vocational schools being designed to prepare students for the labor market, many graduates still face difficulties due to low work readiness. Knowledge gap: Limited research has explored the psychological aspects, specifically the role of job interest, in shaping students’ readiness for employment within Islamic vocational contexts. Aims: This study investigates the relationship between job interest and work readiness among Class XII students at SMK Islam Roudlotus Saidiyyah Semarang. Results: Using a saturated sampling of 95 students and psychological measurement scales, the analysis with Pearson’s product moment correlation revealed a strong and significant relationship (rxy = 0.756, p < 0.05). Higher job interest was consistently associated with higher levels of work readiness. Novelty: This study highlights the substantial contribution of job interest (57.2%) to work readiness in Islamic vocational education, offering empirical evidence rarely addressed in similar contexts. Implications: Findings suggest that fostering job interest through curriculum design and career guidance could serve as a strategic approach to strengthen students’ readiness for the workforce. Highlight: Job interest strongly correlates with work readiness. Contributes 57.2% to student readiness. Provides insights for Islamic vocational education. Abstract

General Background: Divorce rates in Indonesia have shown a consistent increase, prompting the Supreme Court to issue various regulations aimed at maintaining marital harmony. Specific Background: One of these efforts is Supreme Court Circular Letter (SEMA) No. 3 of 2023, which introduces a six-month separation requirement before divorce can be granted in Religious Courts. Knowledge Gap: Despite its legal intent, limited empirical evidence exists on how this regulation affects divorce dynamics at the local court level. Aims: This study investigates the implementation of SEMA No. 3 of 2023 and its practical role in reducing divorce cases at the Sidoarjo Religious Court. Results: Findings reveal that while the policy initially reduced divorce numbers in 2023, the effect was temporary, with cases increasing again in subsequent years due to its non-binding nature. Novelty: The research offers a contextual empirical analysis of SEMA’s role within Indonesia’s Islamic judicial system. Implications: Strengthening the juridical framework and integrating social counseling mechanisms are crucial for ensuring the sustainability of family law reforms in Islamic courts.Highlights: SEMA functions as an internal legal guideline, not binding law. Its temporary effect underscores the need for legal reinforcement. Integration with counseling programs can enhance long-term outcomes.
