EKONOMIKA SYARIAH: Journal of Economic Studies is a journal that publishes research results related to the themes of economics, finance, and Islamic banking. It also provides an important role in promoting the process of knowledge, values and skills. Scientific texts that discuss the topics of economics, finance and Islamic banking are highly expected to be presented. Interdisciplinary approaches to Islamic studies are used as instruments to overcome and solve Islamic economic, financial and banking problems. The editorial team invited researchers, scholars, and Islamic studies and economic observers to submit research articles that had never been published in other media or journals. Ekonomika Syariah is published twice a year, in June and December. The editorial team received the research article, typed 1.15 cm in space on A4 paper, double column, 15-20 pages long or 7000 to 9000 words. Every article published has gone through a peer-review process to maintain the quality of the publication.

Abstract

This research attempts to analyze the effect of religiosity and culture on purchasing decisions in buying cafe food in Bukittinggi partially or simultaneously. The design of this study is quantitative correlational. The population is Muslim teenagers in the city of Bukittinggi. The sample of this study was Muslim teenagers in the Bukit Tinggi town who bought cafe food. Furthermore, the determination of the sample to be used as the respondent was done by purposive sampling, by taking and selecting Muslim adolescents in Bukittinggi as respondents.Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that: partially Religiosity and Culture have a positive effect on purchasing decisions in buying cafe food, while Religiosity and Culture simultaneously influence purchasing decisions in buying cafe food where the contribution of the determination coefficient (R Square) is 38.8% and the remaining 61.2% is influenced by other variables which are not included in this similarity regression or variables not examined.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the behavior of Muslim consumers in West Java in purchasing decisions of halal cosmetic products, which include factors of attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, religiosity, knowledge, and halal labeling. This study used descriptive and verification methods with a quantitative approach. The sample used in this study were 412 Muslim women with an age range of 15-64 years which were taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) method. The results of this research showed that attitude, subjective norm, religiosity, knowledge, and halal labeling have positive and significant impacts on purchasing decisions, while the perceptions of behavior control have no significant impacts on purchasing decisions. This finding showed that the purchase decision of halal cosmetic products of Muslim consumers can be influenced by several factors, and halal labeling has a greater influence. This study also reveals that some Muslim consumers do not know the halal label of a product. This research contributes to encouraging cosmetic companies that do not yet have halal certification to apply for halal certification and this finding is also a reference for the government to require halal certificates for cosmetic products. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku konsumen Muslim Jawa Barat dalam keputusan pembelian produk kosmetik halal, yang meliputi factor sikap, norma subjektif, persepsi kontrol perilaku, religiusitas, pengetahuan, dan labelisasi halal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan verifikatif yang dianalisis dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 412 perempuan Muslim berusia 15-64 tahun dan berdomisili di Jawa Barat yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor seperti sikap, norma subjektif, religiusitas, pengetahuan, dan labelisasi halal memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian, sedangkan persepsi kontrol perilaku tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa keputusan pembelian produk kosmetik halal dari konsumen muslim dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, dimana labelisasi halal memiliki pengaruh yang lebih besar. Penelitian ini juga mengungkap bahwa sebagian konsumen muslim di Jawa Barat belum mengetahui label halal dari suatu produk. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam mendorong perusahaan kosmetik yang belum memiliki sertifikasi halal untuk mengajukan sertifikasi halal dan sebagai pertimbangan bagi pemerintah untuk mewajibkan produk yang beredar di Indonesia bersertifikat halal.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ease of use, efficiency and security on the interest in transactions using BSM Mobile Banking. To conduct discussions and research, using primary data directly obtained from the object of research through a structured list of statements or questionnaires that have been answered by respondents, this study uses the help of SPSS version 15, and data testing techniques use binary logistic regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that ease of use, efficiency and security have a positive and significant influence on the interest in transacting using BSM Mobile Banking, both partially and simultaneously. The most dominant variable influencing the interest in transacting using BSM Mobile Banking is efficiency.

Abstract

This research aims to know the magnitude of the influence of Solvency Ratio on performance of the financial of banking sector in the Indonesian stock exchange. The purpose of this research is seen from the problem "how to influence their solvency ratio against the financial performance in the banking sector in Indonesia stock exchange period 2012 – 2016?". Based on the results of the research that has been done, it was found that their solvency Ratios the negative effect on performance on financial sector perbankkan in the Indonesia stock exchange in the period 2012-2016.

Abstract

 This research is due to the problems in Jorong Batu Limbak related to the problem of making the cotton industry. For the people of Jorong Batu Limbak, the kapok handicraft industry is an industrial activity that must be developed so that people's economic resilience can be increased. This industry initially only processed cottonwood, but in its development there was a business making casual mattresses, dolls and others. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the creativity of the kapok industrial product creativity on the economic resilience of the community in Jorong Batu Limbak. The research method used in this study is field research with a quantitative approach. The sample of this research is cotton entrepreneurs who innovate and creativity in the cotton industry. technical analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis. these findings reveal that Innovation and Creativity in the Kapok Industry in Jorong Batu Limbak have a significant influence on the economic resilience of the community as evidenced by the results of multiple linear regression Y = 12,962 + 0,22X1 + 0,628X2 + e. There is a positive influence between Product Innovation and product creativity on Community Economic Security, which is 51.2%

Abstract

The concept of good corporate governance (GCG) is based on agency theory which is expected to reduce conflicts of interest between agents and principals that can occur in every company, including sharia banks. This situation was realized by the Bank of Indonesia, which then issued a policy that emphasized the need for applying GCG in Bank Indonesia Regulation, namely PBI Number 11/33/PBI/2009. This study examines the effect of applying GCG on profitability and financing risk at the Sharia Commercial Bank in Indonesia. The application of GCG is measured using a composite value self-assessment GCG. Profitability is measured by the ratio of ROA and ROE, while the ratio of NPF measures financing risk. This study uses secondary data, namely annual and GCG implementation reports from 2010 to 2019, published on each official website of Sharia Commercial Bank. Based on the purposive sampling method, 8 of Sharia Commercial Bank ware sampled in this study with a total of 80 observations. Data analysis techniques use panel data regression analysis. The results showed that the application of GCG had a negative and significant effect on profitability measured by ROA and ROE ratios and had a significant positive effect on financing risk measured by the NPF ratio.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how big the influence of institutions of banks and non-bank institutions in the financing of small and medium enterprises in padang city in the perspective of Islam. The method used in this paper is a mixed method. This writing is a step of writing by combining two forms of writing that have been there before, namely quantitative writing and qualitative writing. Based on the results of t test (partial) which explains that bank financing institution has a value of alpha 0.05 so it can be concluded that the variable bank financing institutions have no significant effect on the number of SMEs. Likewise with non-bank financing institutions have a value of t count alpha 0.05 so it can be concluded that the variable non-bank financing institutions have no significant effect on the number of MSMEs. In addition, from the Islamic point of view the use of bank institutions and Non Bank to develop SMEs is not fully justified. Based on the arguments and opinions of the scholars who have the authors explain above, the prohibition to use the bank in bersmuamalah very clear, although there are some scholars who allow. However, to avoid the actions that are forbidden Allah SWT would be nice if we stay away from the use of banks and other conventional financial institutions to bermuamalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh lembaga bank dan lembaga non bank dalam pembiayaan usaha kecil menengah di kota padang dalam perspektif islam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah metode campuran (mixed methods). Penulisan ini merupakan suatu langkah penulisan dengan mengabungkan dua bentuk penulisan yang telah ada sebelumnya, yaitu penulisan kuantitatif dan penulisan kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil uji t (parsial) yang menjelaskan bahwa lembaga pembiayaan bank memiliki nilai thitung < ttabel sebesar 0,048 < 1,83311 yang didukung nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,963 > alpha 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel lembaga pembiayaan bank tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah UMKM. Begitu juga dengan lembaga pembiayaan non bank memiliki nilai thitung < ttabel sebesar 1,810 < 1,83311 yang didukung nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,113 > alpha 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel lembaga pembiayaan non bank tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah UMKM. Selain itu, dari sudut pandang Islam penggunaan lembaga bank dan Non Bank untuk mengembangkan UKM tidak sepenuhnya dibenarkan. Berdasarkan dalil dan pendapat para ulama yang telah penulis jelaskan diatas, larangan untuk menggunakan bank dalam bermuamalah sangat jelas, walaupun ada beberapa ulama yang membolehkan. Namun, agar terhindar dari perbuatan yang dilarang Allah SWT alangkah baiknya bila kita menjauhi penggunaan bank dan lembaga keuangan konvensional lainnya untuk bermuamalah.

Abstract

Islamic banking in Indonesia runs its activities using the concept of sharia based on the Qur'an and Al-Hadis. The sacred foundation should have an impact on the quality of financial statements that are higher than conventional banking. However, the facts that occur indicate a contradiction in the findings of researchers related to earnings management practices that occur in Islamic banking. This study describes these contradictions for answering the phenomenon of earnings management in Islamic banking. This research uses literature study to discuss the formulation of the problem. The results of the discussion found the existence of earnings management practices in Islamic banking . The mitigation that can be done by Islamic banking is the maximum application of corporate governance  and using the services of qualified and reputable auditors to examine the bank's financial statements. Perbankan syariah di Indonesia menjalankan kegiatannya menggunakan konsep syariah yang berlandaskan kepada Al- quran dan Al-hadist. Landasan yang suci tersebut seharusnya berdampak kepada kualitas laporan keuangan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan perbankan konvensional. Namun, fakta yang terjadi menunjukkan adanya kontradiksi temuan peneliti terkait dengan praktik manajemen laba yang terjadi pada perbankan syariah. Penelitian ini menguraikan kontradiksi tersebut sekaligus menjawab mengenai fenomena manajemen laba pada perbankan syariah. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi literature untuk membahas rumusan masalah. Hasil dari pembahasan ditemukan adanya praktik manajemen laba pada perbankan syariah.  Adapun mitigasi yang bisa dilakukan oleh perbankan syariah ialah penerapan corporate governance secara maksimal serta menggunakan jasa auditor yang berkualitas dan bereputasi untuk memeriksa laporan keuangan bank.

Abstract

Islamic bank financing, zakat, and education expenditure can increase Indonesia’s economic growth and Human Development Index (HDI). Islamic bank financing could be funding capital for the community. Zakat plays a role in wealth distribution, while education expenditure contributes by improving the quality of human resources. This study analysed the direct and indirect relationship between Islamic bank financing, zakat, and education expenditure to economic growth and HDI. Data were analysed using path analysis based on panel data for the period 2015-2019. The results showed that the Islamic bank financing, zakat and education expenditure had a significant positive effect on economic growth. Islamic bank financing, zakat, and education expenditure had a significant positive impact on HDI. At the same time, the indirect implications showed that Islamic bank financing, zakat, and education expenditure have a significant positive effect on HDI through economic growth. Pembiayaan perbankan syariah, zakat, dan belanja pendidikan menjadi instrumen yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan di Indonesia. Pembiayaan perbankan syariah dapat menjadi modal pendanaan bagi masyarakat, zakat berperan sebagai penyalur kekayaan, sedangkan belanja pendidikan dapat meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan langsung dan tidak langsung antara variabel pembiayaan bank syariah, zakat, dan pengeluaran pendidikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi dan IPM. Analisis data menggunakan path analysis berdasarkan data panel untuk periode 2015-2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembiayaan bank syariah, zakat dan belanja pendidikan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Pembiayaan perbankan syariah, zakat, dan belanja pendidikan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap IPM. Sedangkan pengaruh tidak langsung menunjukkan bahwa pembiayaan bank syariah, zakat, dan pengeluaran pendidikan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap IPM melalui pertumbuhan ekonomi.

Abstract

Souvenirs shop plays important part in selling and introducing the SME’s product. This research purpose are to understand and to identify of how the souvenirs shop in Padang deal in the application of integrated promotional mix. This study uses qualitative descriptive method to 10 souvenirs shop in Padang, Padang Culture and Tourism Office, Padang Cooperatives and SME’s Office, and ASITA West Sumatra. Data collection method used were in-depth interview and focus group discussion. Their understanding in integrated promotional mix are identically expensive and have no direct impact in trading which this research try to change that mislead understanding. In general, the promotion mix that they do is using visual media in the form of bilboard for advertsing, for sales promotion by providing product samples, giving discounts dan brochures. The ability of the resources owned which is still limited and still depends on the programs from related offices for the promotion of teir products.
