Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the translation techniques in the film subtitle "Yī wěn dìng qíng《一吻定情》: fall in love at first kiss" and to describe the translation techniques that are more often used in the film subtitle "Yī wěn dìng qíng" 《一吻定情》: fall in love at first kiss based on the translation technique developed by Molina and Albir. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative research method. Based on the research results, it shows that there are 14 translation techniques out of 193 techniques used in translating the film Fall in Love at First Kiss. Based on the results of research analysis, the translation technique in the film Fall in Love at First Kiss that was most frequently used was the Transposition Technique, namely 12 times (12.90%).

Abstract

The unpleasant expressions (offensiveness) always emotionally affect to the human psyches, and exists in all languages in less or strong degrees and directly or indirectly. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate over the changes of them by corporally-derived data and their registers, times and genders were the pilot targets. BNC and COCA Corpora were put for data collections while the list of previous insulting words was selected to reuse, especially the ones with highest frequencies. The results suggested 4 words damn, shit, fuck and dick had the highest degrees of uses but those from BNC were comparatively fewer than the rest. Moreover, the top four were emerged up to the different periods of times and contexts while men used them considerably more often than the women did.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the nationalist attitude of the main character Wu Qianli in the film Chang Jin Hu (长津湖) and describe the supporting factors for the nationalist attitude of the character Wu Qianli in the film Chang Jin Hu. This research is motivated by literary works which have many nationalist values. The research method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The techniques used in collecting data are downloading films, watching films, screenshotting parts of films that have nationalist values. The results found from this research are that there are 3 attitudes of nationalism, namely having concern for the nation, having a movement to achieve independence, having the value of being willing to sacrifice and there are also supporting factors for morals in the nationalist attitude of the main character Wu Qianli, namely his own actions, conditions or situations and motives. . Therefore, this research has concrete data on the findings of a nationalistic attitude in the character Wu Qianli in the film Chang Jin Hu.

Abstract

This study does a meta-analysis of three study programs to examine the applicability of the various strategies and methodologies suggested in this research project related vocabulary learning or lexical knowledge. The results demonstrated that the learners' lexical knowledge strategies encompassed cognitive, metacognitive, social, willpower, and memory techniques. Additionally, this study looked into the relationship between the background, circumstance, approach, context, and therapy using a vocabulary acquisition strategy. The findings indicated that while the instructors used particular teaching methods in accordance with their curricula and preferred distinct methods, the L2 beginners came from diverse backgrounds and situations. The study's findings suggest that in order to effectively encourage Instructors at STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam should be well aware of the significance of employing proper techniques of teaching English (ELT) to new EFL students in order to develop their vocabulary.

Abstract

This research discusses translation techniques in the ENFI’s (恩菲) organizational structure. This research aims to describe the types of translation techniques used in the translation results of ENFI’s (恩菲) organizational structure by Mr. Zhang. In this study the theory used is the theory of translation techniques by Molina & Albir (2002). The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source in this study is the ENFI’s（恩菲) organizational structure document and its translation. The results showed that the types of translation techniques applied by Mr. Zhang to the ENFI’s（恩菲) organizational structure were modulation, amplification, common equivalents, pure borrowing, reduction, generalization, literal, linguistic compression and discursive creation.
