Abstract

The focus of this paper discusses the Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) phenomenon, which is a condition of anxiety when users miss the latest information, do not update other people's activities in their absence. These conditions can encourage users to experience internet addiction and spend a lot of time on the internet, in order to get a feeling of being involved and joining. Dasein condition that dissolves in everyday life in a digital world like that will be reflected in Martin Heidegger's thoughts about technology and human relations with it, specifically Gestell and Gelassenheit. The purpose of this paper is to offer a metaphysically based attitude (so it's not just a pragmatic attitude), when dealing with gadgets or mobile phones, Gelassenheit. The method used in this paper is qualitative, with a phenomenological approach. In this article, I also take a lot of inspiration from F. Budi Hardiman's book Aku Klik Maka Aku Ada. The findings in this paper, Heidegger's thoughts about technology are still relevant today. It must be admitted that technology is indeed very beneficial for human life, it is also a revelation of history, users are engrossed and busy thinking calculatively and at home in the digital world. So Heidegger's offer of the Gelassenheit attitude, namely relaxing towards tools provides important and deep inspiration for users.

Abstract

The focus of this study is to examine the phenomenon of religious radicalism in Indonesia, which has recently become a trigger for the emergence of destructive, anarchic, and racist attitudes in the communal way of life. The method employed in this study utilizes a qualitative approach dialogued with Jurgen Habermas's critical hermeneutical analysis. Critical hermeneutics, as applied by Habermas, offers a unique perspective in dissecting cases related to socio-political and religious issues grounded in authority and tradition. The findings of this study reveal that Habermas's critical hermeneutics unveils hidden ideological moments behind authority and tradition through reflection and evaluation. This becomes possible through an inclusive attitude in constructing communication with critical and rational awareness. With this awareness, individuals are led to an understanding free from dominant, repressive, and manipulative power. This understanding not only touches the cognitive dimension but also extends to the realm of practice. The contribution of this study lies in presenting a critical and rational approach to address various forms of social disintegration and dehumanizing practices, especially in Indonesia, known as a heterogeneous nation.

Abstract

The research focuses on exploring the meaning of Emanuel Levinas' ethics of face in illuminating the immorality that occurs in war. For Levinas, humans are "being-for-the-other"; beings who exist in the world for others. Levinas proposes how "being-for-the-other" always has the nature to be responsible for the presence of other humans with sorge (care). On the other hand, humans often become power-hungry "animals", which can only be obtained if they conquer others, especially in this case, is war. Humans are increasingly showing a life of utter disregard for other human beings by constantly waging war. Therefore, exploring facial ethics and humanitarian responsibility according to Levinas' thought will find intersubjective attitudes that humans can internalize to realize other humans as existences who also have experiences and feelings, are valuable and precious. The method used in the research is qualitative method through literature study. This research found that face ethics gives intersubjective understanding to every human being. The contribution of this research is to understand that war is immorality; which is the destructiveness of humanity that violates the principles of intersubjectivity and humanitarian responsibility.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the use of Bahasa Indonesia by all its citizens is an efficient means of communication to convey messages. The language is dominant in daily activities, which is especially important in an era of scientific and technological advancement that emphasizes specialization, because studying the views of scientists can help humans realize their limitations and avoid intellectual arrogance. Philosophy has a role as a carrier of values for society, focusing on learning that is relevant to everyday life. As part of value education, philosophy can be a tool to nurture habits of thought and reflect on the values of life. However, the existence of the Indonesian language as the glue of the nation seems to be neglected due to the abundance of new vocabulary, including abbreviations and foreign terms. To philosophize is to explore deeply and earnestly. It is knowledge that reaches the root of everything according to ratio. It summarizes reality as a whole, especially human existence and purpose. Philosophy of science aims to investigate the various sources of knowledge, from theories of language acquisition based on views such as behaviorism or cognitivism, which basically stem from philosophical statements that were once delivered by prominent philosophers.

Abstract

In this time of global competition, it is important for everyone to have leadership skills. Leadership principles are needed to be able to be a guideline for managing oneself and others, without leaving the noble elements of morality. One of the leadership guidelines that can be used as a reference is Sun Tzu's “The Art of War”. In line with the teachings in Hindu Leadership, both are based on the noble values of religion and culture. Considering these similarities, researchers in this case tried to examine The Art of War in the perspective of Hindu Leadership, with the main objective of presenting correlations and noble leadership guidelines that can be empowered in life. Through methods based on philosophical hermeneutics, and balanced with interactive analysis from Miles and Huberman, this research obtained several findings, including: 1). The essence of Sun Tzu's The Art of War is a guideline and philosophy of leadership that unites Taoism with strategies or tactics of warfare. 2). The urgency of Hindu leadership in the era of disruption as a noble guideline to maintain religious and cultural values. 3). In terms of analysis, there is a correlation between The Art of War which is studied in terms of Hindu Leadership concepts, both regarding the importance of planning, mind control, and negotiation skills.

Abstract

Democracy in Indonesia, particularly in the context of a pluralistic society, faces significant challenges related to the weakening of its core values, such as popular sovereignty, political participation and transparency. Indonesia's declining democracy index, as reported by Democracy Index 2023, reflects problems such as corruption, weak government accountability, and lack of space for criticism. In an effort to strengthen democracy, Karl Popper's falsification theory is relevant as an epistemic paradigm to encourage transparency and critical examination of public policies. The principle of falsification, which prioritizes criticism and testing of truth claims, is in line with Pancasila democracy which emphasizes deliberation for consensus. The purpose of writing this article is to examine the validity of democratic practices in Indonesia in terms of Karl Popper's falsification theory. The method used in writing this article is a qualitative library method by searching for books as primary sources and articles as secondary sources. The results found in writing this article are that falsification emphasizes the importance of error as a means of correction, so that public policy must always be open to rational criticism for continuous improvement. However, the practice of democracy in Indonesia is often hampered by ideological absolutism, the dominance of certain doctrines, and the resistance of public officials to criticism, all of which weaken the mechanisms of deliberation and inclusiveness. Therefore, the principle of falsification can serve as an epistemological correction tool to deepen the democratic values of Pancasila, by directing policies towards rationality, active participation of society, and respect for plurality, so that democracy can evolve towards a more inclusive and ethical maturity.

Abstract

The community of Tuwed Village in Jembrana Regency is predominantly engaged in freshwater fish farming. High feed costs remain a major challenge for fish farmers. To address this, the community, in collaboration with the village government, developed charoen, an alternative feed made from organic waste of infertile eggs. This initiative reflects the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which emphasizes harmony among humans, the environment, and the divine through religious practices, local fermentation technology, and traditional social structures. This study adopts a qualitative case study approach, grounded in community participation theory and cultural ecology, to examine the integration of local wisdom into sustainable aquaculture. The findings reveal a systemic synergy between the government, community, and the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, resulting in an efficient and culturally rooted aquaculture model. This model not only improves economic welfare but also supports environmental preservation and the continuity of cultural values, with potential for application in other regions.

Abstract

This study is a philosophical reflection on the meaning of cosmic sound (nāda brahman) and music in the Hindu philosophical tradition as a contemplative and transformative medium for realizing harmony in life. This research aims to re-explore the metaphysical, aesthetic, and practical dimensions of musical experience as understood in classical Hindu texts. This research aims to show that sound and music, when understood philosophically, can be a medium for the formation of harmony in life and the transformation of consciousness towards a whole and integral cosmic consciousness. In the Nāṭyaśāstra, as a fundamental text of classical Indian art, Bharata Muni positions music (gāndharva) as a direct manifestation of the cosmic principle, namely rotating universal rhythms through the medium of aesthetics. Art, in this framework, is understood as an expression of cosmic movement that functions to awaken consciousness through the experience of feeling. Through a hermeneutic and phenomenological approach, this study reveals the integration of metaphysical, aesthetic, and practical dimensions in human musical experience. The results of the reflection show that aesthetic experience, as formulated in the Nāṭyaśāstra, has a transformative power: it arouses emotions, harmonizes psychic structures, and opens the way to higher consciousness. Thus, cosmic sound and music not only represent harmony, but become a medium for self-realization—as a process of unification of the microcosm (human) with the macrocosm (universe), which states that all reality essentially vibrates in one universal cosmic rhythm.
