Abstract

One of the learning characteristics applied by Universitas Terbuka (UT) is using digital media integrated with problem-based learning in independent learning. This research was intended to develop digital scrapbooks as the digital media integrated with problem-based learning to foster the students’ learning outcomes in Statistics Education. As many as 108 UT students who took Statistics Education subject in the 2020 registration period were targeted as the research subjects; they involved 56 students participating in webinar tutorials and 52 students participating in online tutorials. The research instruments used were the assessment sheets used by the experts, the student questionnaires, and tests. There were five stages of developmental research as applied in this research, and they covered planning, exploratory studies, product development, expert validation, and field testing in small groups. The results obtained were that the digital scrapbook met the expert validity based on the constructivism theory and statistical concepts. Moreover, the implementation of digital scrapbooks met practical criteria since all students felt enthusiastic and claimed that it was able to help them in understanding Statistics Education. Its implementation met the effective criteria based on the mean scores obtained on the student learning outcomes, 75.75 on the 0-100 scale, and no students scored under 60. It was concluded that the use of digital scrapbooks in the Statistics Education subject met validity, practical, and effective criteria.

Abstract

Indonesia has participated in PISA studies 7 times to measure the mathematical literacy abilities of Indonesian students. However, the results obtained show that Indonesian students are always ranked in bottom 10th. This proves that the mathematical literacy ability of Indonesian students is very low. In response to this, efforts need to be made in improving students' mathematical literacy skills to be better, namely by training students to get used to solving problems that have PISA standards. This study aims to describe how to train students' mathematical literacy skills through PISA standardized questions with the context of Traditional Games. The method used in this research is library research. The results of this study indicate that training students' mathematical literacy skills can be done by accustoming students to solve PISA standardized problems with contexts that are close to students' daily lives namely using the context of Traditional Games.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the national mathematics exam scores on grade point average (GPA), mathematics anxiety, and self-regulated learning of the second-year students of Mathematics Education study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Nusa Cendana University in a multivariate manner. This study is correlation research which was conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Nusa Cendana University. The population in this study were the mathematics education program students, Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Nusa Cendana University. The samples consist of 73 students. Data collection techniques used in this research are online questionnaires and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques used in this research are simple linear regression analysis and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and also hypothesis testing using the t-test and probability level. The result shows that (1) tvalue<ttable = 0,397<1.99394 so that there is no significant influence of the national mathematics exam scores on the students’ GPA, (2) tvalue<t table = -0.270<1.99394 so that there is no significant influence of national examination scores on mathematics anxiety, (3) tvalue<t table = 0,560<1.99394 so that there is no influence between the national math test scores on self-regulated learning, and (4) the MANOVA test shows that the GPA has a significance level of 0.693>0.05, while mathematics anxiety shows a significance level of 0.848>0.05, and self-regulated learning shows a significance level of 0.540>0.05. In conclusion, the national mathematics exam scores in a multivariate manner do not influence the GPA, mathematics anxiety, and self-regulated learning.
