Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the development and implementation of Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) in education using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Literature searching was conducted through Publish or Perish using Google Scholar and Scopus databases with four ITS-related keyword combinations. Following the PRISMA flow, 864 studies were identified, screened through title-abstract evaluation, and filtered through full-text eligibility, resulting in 20 final articles published between 2018 and 2024. Data extraction covered educational fields, ITS tools, system purposes, user interfaces, evaluation methods, and reported impacts. The findings show that ITS is widely applied in general education, computer science, and mathematics. Most ITS implementations employ web-based platforms and various customized tools. ITS is predominantly used to support adaptive learning, automated assessment, feedback generation, and cognitive skill development. University students and school learners are the primary target users. Evaluation methods commonly include technical assessments, questionnaires, observations, and pre-test/post-test approaches. Overall, the review concludes that ITS continues to evolve as an AI-supported learning environment that enhances personalization, learning effectiveness, and student engagement.

Abstract

Background/Purpose: The rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) necessitates an investigation into its impact on pre-service teacher (PST) competence. This systematic literature review (SLR) investigates AI's effectiveness in enhancing PSTs' teaching skills and professional competence. Methodology: Following PRISMA guidelines, a comprehensive database search yielded 68 initial studies, with 17 selected for synthesis. The analysis focused on AI tools, targeted teaching skills, and competence development, mediating factors like learning motivation (LM) and perceived usefulness (PU). Findings: AI interventions significantly enhance various teaching skills. AI-driven simulations and conversational agents improve responsive teaching, instructional dialogue quality , and nonverbal skills. AI-supported learning positively impacts Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), TPACK , and deepens reflective patterns. The benefits are strongly mediated by enhanced LM and PU. Conclusion: AI implementation is a scalable and ethical mechanism to bridge the theory-practice gap, significantly developing PSTs' teaching expertise. A focused approach integrating TPACK and PCK is crucial to maximize pedagogical benefits.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has encouraged various innovations in education, including the use of Augmented Reality (AR) as an interactive learning medium. This study aims to systematically review the utilization of Augmented Reality in educational contexts and its contribution to improving learning effectiveness and quality in the digital era. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA guidelines. Article searches were conducted using the Publish or Perish application with Google Scholar as the database, followed by a screening process using Covidence based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of 29 selected articles were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis and bibliometric analysis with the support of VOSviewer. The findings indicate that Augmented Reality has a positive impact on students’ conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and engagement, particularly in science, mathematics, and STEM education. However, several challenges remain, including increased cognitive load, limited technological infrastructure, and teachers’ readiness to integrate AR into learning activities. Therefore, the optimization of Augmented Reality in education should be implemented holistically by considering pedagogical approaches, instructional design, and the readiness of the educational ecosystem.

Abstract

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) courses are often perceived as difficult by students due to the highlevel of abstraction. This study aims to implement the Project Based Learning (PjBL) method through thedevelopment of a farming simulation game "Bit and Seeds" to concretely visualize OOP concepts. Theresearch method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a simplified software development model, followed by product evaluation through a project showcase. The research subjects involved 46 respondentsconsisting of students and the general public. Data collection was carried out using a digital questionnairecovering ratings and textual feedback. The results showed that the game product successfully implementedClass, Object, and Inheritance concepts effectively. User acceptance was very high, indicated by anaverage satisfaction score of 9.43 (Very Good Category). User feedback highlighted the strengths of thevisual aspects and provided constructive input for feature additions. This study concludes that game-basedPjBL effectively bridges the understanding of OOP theory and produces a viable output product.

Abstract

This study examined the perceived accessibility and postgraduate students’ intention to use library e-resources for research. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. A simple random sampling technique was used to select two hundred and forty (240) postgraduates in Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun state. The instrument for data collection was a self-constructed questionnaire. The data gathered was subjected to descriptive statistics (frequency counts, percentage, and mean), and multiple regression was employed to analyse the data generated at a 0.05 level of significance. Results showed that postgraduate students generally experience a high level of perceived accessibility of the library’s electronic resources. Postgraduate students have a high intention to use library e-resources for research activities; they are strongly motivated and intend to use library e-resources extensively for their research activities. There is a significant relationship between perceived accessibility and postgraduate students’ intention to use library e-resources for research. The study revealed that enhancing accessibility and fostering motivation are key to promoting the effective use of library e-resources among postgraduate students.

Abstract

One of the most influential technologies in today's education world is Artificial Intelligence (AI). Students often use AI as an alternative to find out what they need. Furthermore, students often rely on AI to complete their assignments. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of student learning independence when utilizing AI while studying. The research method used was quantitative with a descriptive approach. The study took place at SMA Wiyata Dharma Medan, with a population of 245 students and a sample of 40 students. Data collection used questionnaires and document studies. The results showed that AI has positive benefits and a very high contribution to increasing student learning independence, with a score reaching 84.2%. This score indicates students' frequent use of AI to search for new materials, relevant references, complete assignments well and on time, and understand the subject matter. This positive use of AI indicates that SMA Wiyata Dharma Medan students have a high level of initiative in learning and motivation to learn independently in a disciplined manner. This learning independence is a sign that SMA Wiyata Dharma Medan students are capable of self-management, making decisions, and taking responsibility for themselves.
