Abstract

Based on the background of the research problem, there is a lack of understanding, especially by the Desa Sukamaju Mohili community, in utilizing a mixture of tea dregs and bagasse in curly red chili plants, where the community still uses inorganic (chemical) fertilizers thereby degrading soil quality. This study aims to determine the effect of a mixture of tea dregs and bagasse on the growth of curly red chili (capsicum Anmum L). This type of research is quantitative with a pure experimental method (true experiment) with a completely randomized design (CRD). The population of this study was curly red chili as much as 20 polybags and the research sample was curly red chili with five treatments and four replications. The treatments applied were P0 (without adding a mixture of tea bagasse and bagasse) P1 (100 grams), P2 (200 grams), P3 (300 grams), and P4 (400 grams). The research data were analyzed using the Kolmogrov-Smirnov test for normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing using the SPSS application (produc and service solution statistics) version 22. The asymp embodiment of 0.035 <0.05 indicates that the stem height of curly red chilies is better than those without using a mixture of tea bagasse and bagasse while it is known that the asymp value is 0.048 <0.05 indicating that the number of leaves of curly red chili plants is greater than those who do not use a mixture of tea bagasse and bagasse. The suggestions offered by researchers, for farmers are expected to be information that bagasse and tea bagasse can have an effect on the growth of curly chilies for students of teaching and education faculties, especially biology education, I hope this research can add insight and knowledge about the effect of bagasse and tea bagasse as on the growth of curly red chili (capsium Anmum L), for future researchers, as a basis for the development of further research on the effect of bagasse and dregs as a plant medium on the growth of curly red chili (capsium annmum L).

Abstract

Agriculture is a culture that was first developed by humans as a way for humans to maintain survival. This study aims to determine the Utilization of Egg Shells as Organic Fertilizer for Kangkung Darat in Nanowa Village. This type of research is a descriptive type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in this study are (1) Observation, (2) Interview. The data analysis technique in this study consists of three flow of activities that occur simultaneously, namely: (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation and (3) conclusion drawing/verification. Based on the results of the research and discussion obtained, there are several conclusions that can be drawn in this study as follows: (1) Good water spinach cultivation can get good productivity results (2) Egg shells have the potential to be used as organic fertilizer because they contain nutrients that are high in nutrients. plants need, such as calcium carbonate, potassium and phosphorus because these elements are very good for plant growth. Egg shells contain calcium carbonate and contain magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, manganese, iron and copper. (3) Utilization of egg shells on the growth of water spinach plants, has a very good impact or effect on the growth of land kale plants. Egg shells have the potential to be used as organic fertilizer because they contain nutrients needed by plants, such as calcium carbonate, potassium and phosphorus because these elements are very good for plant growth. Egg shells contain 97% calcium carbonate and an average of 3% phosphorus and 3% magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, manganese, iron and copper. The suggestion in the research is that farmers should be able to use egg shells as an alternative fertilizer for cultivating various plants, one of which is land kale.

Abstract

Based on the background of the problem, the continuous use of chemical fertilizers can make the soil harden and lose its porosity. In addition, the people in Bintang Baru Village lack understanding of the content of turmeric which can be processed into natural fertilizer for the growth of green mustard plants. This study aims to determine the effect of turmeric extract on the growth of mustard greens. This research uses a type of quantitative research using pure experimental methods (true experiment) and using a completely randomized design trial (CRD). The population of this study was green mustard plants, which totaled 20 polybags of plants with five treatments and four replications. The treatments used were P0 (without turmeric extract), P1 (50 ml), P2 (100 ml), P3 (150 ml) and P4 (200 ml). The results of this research data were analyzed using the SPSS version 20 application which consisted of a normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test and follow-up test. Based on the results of this study, the use of turmeric extract can affect the growth of mustard greens, especially in: (1) Increase in the number of leaf blades, (2) Increase in plant stem height. It was concluded that giving turmeric extract to mustard greens is one way to grow naturally and easily available. Suggestions offered by researchers, turmeric extract should be applied and able to improve agricultural quality.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of coconut dregs on the growth of tomato plants. This research was conducted in the village of Hiliamaeta, Luahagundre sub – district, South Nias district, from April 20 2022 to May 25 2022. This type of research is quantitative research with a true experimental approach. The research design used was RAL (Completely Randomized Design) which consisted of five treatments (P) with four replications (U). The population of this study is 20 units of tomato plants and 20 units of the sample. This research was conducted by fermenting coconut dregs with a mixture of EM4 to become organic fertilizer. Treatment given with certain doses : P 0 was not given coconut dregs, P 1 (50 grams), P 2 (100 grams), P 3 (150 grams), P 4 (200 grams). Research date were analyzed by normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and further test (Duncan and LSD). So it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H a is accepted, which means there is a difference in the growth of tomato plants when given coconut dregs on plants height and number of leaf blades. Researchers suggest that people should be able to use coconut dregs as a natural organic fertilizer for plants because coconut dregs are very easy to obtain, do not incur large costs and contain important subtances fot the growth of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill).

Abstract

Agriculture is an activity of utilizing biological resources by humans to produce food, industrial raw materials with the aim of fulfilling their needs. Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is a horticultural commodity that has important economic value in Indonesia, so chili cultivation is very attractive to farmers. This study aims to determine the types of insects that are detrimental to chili plants. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted from 16 December to 12 January 2023. This research was also carried out in the village of Sisarahili Ekholo, Lolowa'u District, Nias Selatan Regency. Identification is one of the ways or actions taken to find out the description of something being studied as a determinant or determination of identity, one example is insects (Insecta). Insects as a component of biodiversity have an important role in agricultural ecosystems, namely as herbivores, parasitoids, predators and environmental bioindicators. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it was found that the research obtained several types of insects, namely green grasshoppers (Atractomorpha), stinging bugs, stem and shoot borer insects (Scirpophaga innotata), green ladybugs (Hemiptera), and caterpillars. Suggestions from researchers are that people should be able to use appropriate techniques in exterminating insects on rice plants, because not all types of insects found on rice plants are harmful but some are beneficial such as: bees, butterflies and dragonflies and several other types of insects .

Abstract

Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus sp.) is a mushroom that can be used as food (Edible mushroom). Besides having a good taste, Pleurotus sp. It also has high nutritional value. This type of research is a descriptive type of qualitative research. This research was carried out from 01 to 30 July 2022, this research was carried out in Telukdalam Village, South Nias Regency. Nutritional science is the study of the relationship between food and health. Nutrition science covers a very broad scope. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it was found that (1) the technique or method of managing the oyster mushroom was managed by boiling, curry, soup and even mixed with noodles and several other types of food according to taste. (2) Oyster mushroom is a nutritional alternative. This is because from the findings of research that has been carried out by conducting interviews with several respondents, it is known that oyster mushrooms are not just food that has a good taste but besides having content such as water, protein, carbohydrates, calcium, energy, fat and phosphorus. which is very important for the needs of the body, also has properties such as lowering cholesterol and is very good for heart health. The suggestions from the researcher are as follows: (1) The researcher hopes that the results of this study can be used as a reference and help increase student knowledge in the learning process both in terms of theory and practicum. (2) people should be wise and understand how to manage and cultivate mushrooms as food or food as an alternative source of nutrition and have health benefits.

Abstract

Lack of understanding of farmers in Botohili Silambo Village in utilizing gebagro 77 organic fertilizer as fertilizer, especially on cardamom plants. People still use inorganic (chemical) fertilizers, thereby reducing soil quality. This study aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer gebagro 77 on the growth of cardamom (Amomum compatum). This type of research is quantitative with a pure experimental method (True Experiment) with a completely randomized design (CRD). The population of this study was 20 polybags of cardamom and the sample of this study was cardamom with five treatments and four replications. The treatments applied were P0 (without giving gebagro 77 organic fertilizer) P1 (5 grams), P2 (10 grams), P3 (15 grams), and P4 (20 grams). The data of this study were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis testing using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) application version 20. It is known that Fcount 3.141 and asymp 0.046, with Ftable 2.90 then Fcount 3.141 > Ftable 2.90 and Asymp value 0.046 < 0.05. It shows that the height of cardamom stems is better than those that do not use gebagro 77 fertilizer. While it is known that Fcount 3.352 and Asymp 0.038, with Ftable 2.90 then Fcount 3.352 > Ftable 0.038 and Asymp value 0.038 < 0.05. It shows that the number of cardamom plant leaves is more than those that do not use gebagro 77 fertilizer. From the results of the analysis, the average use of gebagro 77 organic fertilizers has a better stem height and number of leaves compared to those who do not use gebagro 77 organic fertilizers. The suggestion offered by researchers is that the use of gebagro 77 organic fertilizers should be increased to reduce use of inorganic fertilizers and utilize existing natural resources.

Abstract

Tolo beans are one of the local beans that have the potential to be developed, where tolo beans have many benefits for the surrounding community which is one of the traditional activities attached to certain community habits that can be used at every wedding ceremony and also if someone dies. The population in this study were all seeds of the tolo bean plant that had been bred, while the sample in this study was some of the tolo bean plant that had been seeded. This study aims to determine the impact of using coconut water on the growth of tolo bean (vigna unguiculata) plants. This type of research is a descriptive type of qualitative research. Based on the results of the research and discussion obtained, there are several conclusions that can be drawn in this study as follows: (1) Good cultivation of tolo bean plants can obtain good productivity results (2) Cultural preservation (local wisdom) through tolo beans which will be used as as babae is to use coconut water as a natural organic fertilizer that can have an effect or impact on plant growth, one of which is the tolo bean plant. . The suggestion in the research is that farmers should continue to preserve the planting of tolo beans which can be used as local wisdom and customs and utilize coconut water as a natural organic fertilizer that can have an impact on plant growth, one of which is the tolo bean plant.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Air Kelapa Terhadap Pematahan Dormansi Biji Karet (Hevea brasiliensis). Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen murni (True Experimen) dengan desain rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Populasi penelitian ini adalah tanaman biji karet sebanyak 300 biji dan sampel penelitian ini adalah biji karet dengan enam perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah P0 (tanpa pemberian air kelapa) P1 (20 % ), P2 40 (%), P3 (60%), P4 (80%) dan P5 (100 %). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menujukan bahwa pengaruh air kelapa dapat berpengaruh pada daya kecambah dan kecepatan tumbuh biji hevea brasiliensis. Setelah melakukan perendaman sekaligus penyamaian, peneliti mengamati tiap hari selama 1 bulan /31 hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan peneliti, bahwa ada pengaruh air kelapa terhadap pematahan dormansi biji karet (Hevea brasiliensis). Adapun saran peneliti dalam pengaruh air kelapa terhadap pematahan dormansi biji karet (Hevea brasiliensis): (1)Bagi masyarakat, khususnya kepada para petani karet agar dapat memanfaatkan air kelapa terhadap dormansi biji karet (Hevea brasiliensis) untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan tunas biji karet bagi bibit tanaman mereka. (2) Bagi peneliti lanjut, sebagai informasi kepada peneliti berikutnya dalam melakukan penelitian yang sama terhadap tanaman yang lainnya dengan menggunakan air kelapa dengan cakupan yang luas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh campuran rendaman Annona muricata, Morinda citrifolia, Syzygium aromaticum dan Cymbopogon nardus sebagai insektisida nabati terhadap Leptocorisa oratorius pada tanaman Oryza sativa L. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen murni. Penelitin ini dilakukan pada tanaman padi di desa Bawonifaoso area persawahan Kecamatan Telukdalam. Populasi penelitian adalah walang sangit. Sampel penelitian ditentukan secara acak dengan menggunakan metode simple random sampling, sampel yang dipilih hanyalah walang sangit yang sudah dewasa. Desain penelitian menggunakan RAK dengan perlakuan empat dan ulangan empat kali. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Beda nyata Terkecil (BNT) dan hasilnya berpengaruh sangat nyata pada P3 dan P4. Uji Chi-Kuadrat untuk menguji kenormalan data, uji Barlett untuk menguji homogenitas data, dan Anova Satu Jalur untuk menguji hipotesis. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh campuran rendaman Annona muricata, Morinda citrifolia, Syzygium aromaticum dan Cymbopogon nardus sebagai insektisida nabati terhadap Leptocorisa oratorius pada tanaman Oryza sativa L. memiliki pengaruh. Saran yang ditawarkan peneliti, hendaknya insektisida nabati digunakan dalam mengendalikan walang sangit pada tanaman padi agar lingkungan dan bahan pangan terhindar dari residu kemudian perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjut terhadap senyawa kimia yang terdapat pada tumbuhan sirsak, mengkudu, cengkeh dan serai wangi agar pengetahuan akan pestisida alami semakin berkembang.
