Abstract

Indonesia is an agrarian country with agriculture as the highest livelihood for its population. The agricultural sector that is the main pillar in Indonesia's food supply is in terms of rice agriculture (Oryza sativa), especially as the global population continues to grow. However, a challenge that often lurks in efforts to increase rice production is the attack of insect pests. Insect pests result in significant crop losses and threaten food security. It is necessary to identify rice pest insects as an effort to extract information on the types of insects that harm agriculture. This study using qualitative descriptive methods aims to determine the types of insect pest species on agricultural land in Gunung Sarik Village as a consideration in proper pest control management, so as to improve the quality and quantity of rice crops in the agricultural land of Gunung Sarik Village. Based on the results of the observations, it was found that types of insect pests come from two different orders, namely hemiptera, which include leafhoppers, walang sangit, and black ants, and the order orthoptera or grasshoppers.

Abstract

Hama dan penyakit dapat menurunkan kualitas dan hasil produksi pertanian.Upaya yang di lakukan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman dengan mengunakan elisitor. Elisitor yaitu zat kimia yang dapat memberikan reaksi pada tanaman yang mampu merangsang produksi metabolit sekunder, memperbaiki sel tanaman, dan meningkatkan produktivitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literature riview, Penelitian literatur menunjukkan bahwa elisitor biosaka sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan metabolit sekunder, meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman, membantu tanaman dalam penyerapan nutris, memperbaiki sel-sel tanaman serta menaikan produktivitas tanaman.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using compost from wood dust on the growth of corn plants (Zea Mays L). This type of research is quantitative research with pure experimental methods (true experiments). The population of this study was corn plants (Zea Mays L.) in 30 polybags. This research sample used simple random sampling consisting of 30 polybags of corn plants (Zea Mays L.) with six treatments and five replications. The treatments applied were P0 (without fertilizer), P1 (5 kg), P2 (4 kg), P3 (3 kg), P4 (2 kg), P5 (1kg). This research data was analyzed using the SPSS application version 20. Based on the analysis using the one way anova test, it showed that the application of wood compost powder to the P5 treatment (5 kg) on ​​corn plants had a very real influence on stem height, number of leaves and stem diameter of corn plants. . . The results of data analysis from the Tukey HSD Least Significant Difference (BNT) test also show that the Fcount > Ftable value means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This is because the more compost dose given, the more N contained in the bokashi will be received by the soil. Based on the research results, it shows that the use of sawdust compost has a real influence on the growth of corn plants (Zea Mays L.). The advice offered by researchers is that the use of compost should be increased to overcome the scarcity and high cost of inorganic fertilizers.

Abstract

Low productivity of green bean plants (Vigna radiata L.). This research aims to determine the effect of using sago dregs as compost on the growth of green bean plants (Vigna radiata L.). This type of research is descriptive type quantitative research with a pure experimental method (True experiment). The population in this study were all green bean plants that had been seeded, while the samples were the green bean plants themselves, consisting of 30 polybags, six treatments with 5 repetitions. The treatments applied are: P0=0 grams, P1= 50 grams, P2=100 grams, P3=150 grams, P4=200 grams, P5=250 grams. The data in this study were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis tests using the SPSS version 15 application. Based on the results of the research, it shows that there is an influence of using Sago Dregs as Compost Fertilizer on the Growth of Green Bean Plants (Vigna radiata L.) in each treatment and replication, namely starting from the first treatment to the fifth treatment and good growth of green bean plants was at a dose of 250 grams (5th Treatment). The suggestion from researchers is that people should be able to use Sago Dregs as a type of natural fertilizer for green bean plants because this fertilizer, apart from fertilizing the soil, also increases more optimal growth of green bean plants.

Abstract

The propagation of snake plants is efficient when using leaf organs. However, the problem is the growth of roots. Auxin is a plant growth regulator that can stimulate root growth. There are several synthetic auxins and must be applied to obtain the best results in snake plant root growth. The materials used in this experiment were snake plant leaves, synthetic auxin (AUKSIN, Rootone-F, and Atonik), soil, and containers. The tools used included a cutter, ruler, stationery, and camera. Synthetic auxin was applied by smearing it on one part of the leaf base. The experimental design was a Completely Randomized Design, with four treatments: control (without auxin), AUKSIN, Rootone-F, and Atonik. Each treatment had three replications, resulting in twelve experimental units. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by DMRT. The results showed that snake plants treated with Atonik produced the best results and differed from the control significantly.

Abstract

Based on the research focus, it aims to study the diversity of plants with medicinal properties in Pasar Telukdalam Village, Telukdalam District. This research aims to find out what types of medicinal plants are used by the community in Pasar Telukdalam Pasar Telukdalam Village as well as their benefits and what diseases can be cured. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. This research data was analyzed using data reduction, verification and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are that the types of medicinal plants used by the community in Pasar Telukdalam Village are ginger, turmeric, bitter gourd and galangal. Diseases that can be cured by medicinal plants that are used by people in Telukdalam Market Village are the ability to soothe a dry throat, overcome flatulence, overcome high stomach acid and are very good for helping to overcome coughs, shortness of breath, due to asthma, helping to relieve breathing, helps overcome nasal congestion and relieves the effects of a throbbing head due to flu. Suggestions for the community, it is hoped that this research can provide information to the community in using medicinal plants in Pasar Telukdalam Village, Telukdalam District and for Nias Raya University, it is hoped that the results of this research can enrich and add sources of information for Nias Raya University students, especially in plant processing. medicinal properties.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of cocorbek (Bryophyllum pinnatum) leaf extract on mosquito larvae mortality. The research method uses a type of quantitative research with a true experimental approach (pure experiment). It is said to be true experimental because here the researcher intervenes by manipulating the independent variables used as factors, and to see the effects they cause. Researchers will closely observe all other factors that may be considered to influence, suppress and interfere with the results of the experiment. The research results were based on hypothesis testing using one way ANOVA analysis and the results obtained were an Fcount value of 34.536 and a sig value of 0.000. With the hypothesis that Fcount > Ftable and it is said to be significant if the sig value < 0.05. So if compared with Ftable in this study which is 2.77, then Fcount is 34.536 > Ftable 2.77. So Ha is accepted (there is an effect of cocorbek leaf extract on mosquito larvae mortality) and Ho is rejected (there is no effect of cocorbek leaf extract on mosquito larvae mortality). The conclusion of the research is that cocorbek leaf extract has an effect on the mortality of mosquito larvae. In treatment P0, it showed that no mortality occurred because cocorbek leaf extract was not given. Treatment P1 given cocorbek leaf extract had the lowest average mortality value. Meanwhile, P5 treatment had the highest average mortality value. This shows that the higher the concentration of Cocor Bebek leaf extract given, the more mosquito larvae will die. Cocorbek leaf extract can affect the mortality of mosquito larvae because it contains active chemicals that can inhibit larval growth, such as alkoloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins which are toxic to mosquito larvae.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of local wisdom on soil fertility in South Nias. Local wisdom, which includes traditional agricultural practices such as the use of organic fertilizers, crop rotation, and sustainable forest management, has proven effective in enhancing soil quality and productivity. Through a literature review approach, data were collected from various sources to analyze the relationship between local practices and soil fertility. The results indicate that local wisdom not only improves soil fertility but also contributes to environmental preservation and ecosystem sustainability. These findings underscore the importance of integrating local wisdom into modern agricultural practices to achieve sustainable food security and community well-being in South Nias.

Abstract

The research objectives are know how to make white oyster mushroom white by using powder wood saw utilizing powder chainsaw at seedlings plants oyster mushrooms, to determine growth and productivity oyster mushroom white Research method this is by method descriptive with a qualitative approach, describe, analyze phenomena on the object of research. This type of research is powder utilization chainswa wood to growth and productivity mushroom oysters white in Tu'indrao village, Amandraya findings research i.e, making media mushroom by preparing 100 kg powder and mixed with other ingredients, utilitazion powder chainsaw with the inoculation stage f2 mushroom spawn number ±1-2 spatula, growth and productivity mushroom oysters 1-2 days after inoculation to grow fruit, 3-5 days harvest mushroom, yield 5 kg per 1 harvest and ready to be utilized by the community as a vegetable. Research from conclusion this is utilizing media powder chainsaw wood for mold growth oysters is, before the media is mixed it should be powder chainsaw composted and sterilized especially first to makes the texture softer my suggestions in research this is, this research is expected to be an alternative to develop other research that related with cultivation mushroom oysters white (Pleurotus ostreatus) by using powder chainsaw wood. For students, as source knowledge in carrying out learning activities at eyes taxonomy lecture plants level low in program study education biology.
