Abstract

This study aims to compare the understanding of the hadith about the signs of the Day of Judgment in order to achieve an accurate understanding of the hadith of the Prophet, this research is a literature study using an analytic descriptive approach. This research is based on several pro and contra arguments related to the understanding of end-time hadith, groups or figures who welcome it with a similar response, including: the Shia sect, which thinks that at the end of time an imam named Imam Mahdi will be born who will lead the end-time ummah against all forms of abuse that is currently happening, this is what the Shi'a followers have been waiting for. Zulkifli Ali, with his argument that there is no other way than for the Muslim community to prepare themselves to welcome the arrival of Imam Mahdi and Dajjal, and the signs expressed in various hadith narrations have occurred a lot. Muhammadiyah organization, which responds to oblique hadiths that mention the appearance of an imam at the end of time (Imam Mahdi) with the argument that such an understanding comes from Shia groups that do not come from the prophet. Fazlurrahman argued that almost all hadiths that are technical in nature cannot be accounted for their authenticity to the prophet, including hadiths that discuss signs of the doomsday. This research is very urgent, because the debate over the arguments studied is directly related to facts that lead to disruption and even negative accusations against hadith speakers (Prophet Muhammad).

Abstract

The use of eyeshadow using itsmid has become a habit carried out by the Prophet Muhammad and of course this is also a recommendation for his people. In a hadith narrated by Ibn Majah it is stated that kohl made from itsmid material can clear the eyes and lengthen the eyelashes. Today, eyeshadow is more widely used by women as a fashion in the world of cosmetics and beauty. The materials used have also undergone variations, no longer made from itsmid. This study examines the hadiths of wearing eyeshadow, and reviews the contextualization of this hadith using eyeshadow as a fashion. This type of research is literature with takhrij and ma'anil hadith approaches. The results of the study show that the hadiths about celak are listed in six source books, namely sunan Abu Dawud, sunan at-Tirmidhi, sunan Ibnu Majah, sunan ad-Darimi, sunan an-Nasa'i, and musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal. The best kolak is itsmid which comes from the country of Ashbahan in the form of very black, almost reddish stones. Itsmid celak functions as an eye medicine, which sharpens eyesight, grows eyelashes. However, based on the purpose and benefits of wearing kohl, using kohl other than itsmid is permissible, as well as for fashion purposes, as long as it's not excessive, which doesn't harm eye health.

Abstract

The demand for renewal of the methodology of Qur’anic interpretation is a modern phenomenon. The Qur’an as the main source of Islamic teachings is fixed and does not change, but on the other hand, the dynamics of the times require the Qur’an to answer new problems. This is what then encourages the experts to review how to present the guidance of the Qur’an in the current context. Among these various updates are those related to the techniques of presenting interpretations (asalib al-tafsir). This paper specifically examines and compares the two most popular techniques of Quranic interpretations, namely ushlub tahlili and ushlub maudhu'i. Regarding these two techniques, some experts consider that the second is more relevant to the demands of nowadays than the first. However, this paper analytically concludes that these two techniques cannot be compared to negate each other because each has advantages and disadvantages. In fact, this two ushlub are still in use, with various adjustments, so that they are considered relevant in the midst of the times.
