Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of the Special Autonomy Fund in Aceh, an initiative that stems from decentralization policy reform in Indonesia that aims to promote regional development and resolve armed conflicts in Aceh. Through the literature study method, this study investigates the evolution of special autonomy policies, starting from the enactment of Law No. 22/1999 and Law No. 25/1999, to the ratification of Law No. 11 of 2006 concerning the Government of Aceh, which marked the transition from centralist government to decentralization, giving Aceh broad autonomy in various aspects of local life. Analysis of the data shows that the allocation of the Special Autonomy Fund, which began in 2008 and will continue until 2027, fluctuated, with an increase over the first 15 years followed by an anticipated gradual decline. The results of the study confirm that the Government of Aceh has succeeded in realizing most of the allocated funds, with emphasis on infrastructure, economy, poverty reduction, as well as education, social, and health, illustrating Aceh's effectiveness in using funds for development and community welfare. The study concludes that the Special Autonomy Fund has become an effective policy instrument in supporting Aceh's regional autonomy and sustainable development. These findings provide important implications for policymaking in other regions with similar uniqueness in Indonesia, offering insight into how asymmetric decentralization can be used as a tool for managing diversity within a unitary state.

Abstract

Starting from the problem of government policy regarding DMO on coal, it is important to examine the implications of DMO on the level of competition of the national coal industry in the global market arena. Therefore, the research wants to examine the competitive sources of finance of the national coal industry, and develop strategies to improve sustainable and superior performance so that it can indeed compete in the global market. This approach is qualitative. The research location is the coal industry in Indonesia. The research time is one time, yes it is 2023. Data collection techniques are literature review and document study. Data analysis techniques use the Sustainable Balanced Scorecard (SBSC) model combined with competitive advantage sources, and equipped with SWOT analysis. The results found that the sources of Indonesia's coal competitive advantage are: (i) The.biggest in the industry. (ii) Distance-low transportation cost. (c) Size (large industry size), (d) Strong market share. Then six strategies were proposed to improve sustainable performance in order to compete in the global market. The six strategies are basically a combination of production strengths, coal quality weaknesses, environmental issues, and the development of environmentally friendly technology, as well as technology that can improve coal quality, and can make coal not only for the benefit of energy sources.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the qualitative relationship between McGregor and Maslow's motivation theories and employee productivity at Laundry Harfiah, a service company in the field of electronic equipment production. In background, research highlights the importance of motivation in increasing employee productivity and company success. McGregor's motivation theory (theories X and Y) and Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory are the focus for understanding and implementing in human resource management. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach and case study method, with research participants in the form of five Harfiah Laundry employees who had worked for at least one year. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis related to the application of motivation theory in companies. The research results show that Literal Laundry has successfully implemented McGregor and Maslow's motivation theories in human resource management. McGregor's theory is realized through policies that give employees the freedom to determine work schedules and participate in decision making. Meanwhile, Maslow's theory is applied through adequate salaries and benefits as well as training programs to meet the needs and self-actualization of employees. The positive relationship between the application of motivation theory and employee productivity is clearly visible, where motivated employees work better. Factors such as organizational culture, leadership, and employee involvement in decision making also influence the implementation of employee motivation and productivity. The conclusion of this research is that the application of McGregor and Maslow's motivation theory at Harfiah Laundry has a positive impact on employee productivity. Recommendations for companies include strengthening an organizational culture that supports employee motivation, increasing employee engagement, providing recognition for hard work, and continuing research for further understanding. Future research can use a quantitative approach and involve more companies and other variables to deepen understanding of the relationship between employee motivation and productivity.

Abstract

The most obvious way to measure non-market value is to question individuals directly about their willingness to pay for a good or service. This study evaluates the economic value of coral reef ecosystems using the contingent valuation method (CVM) technique by measuring the willingness to pay the community. Furthermore, this study aims to analyze the factors that influence the willingness to pay (WTP) and the amount of the value of the community's willingness to pay (WTP) for the conservation of coral reef ecosystems in Gili Gede waters. Sample determination in this study used purposive sampling techniques with interview structured data collection techniques guided by questionnaires. Data analysis used logistic regression for factors affecting WTP and multiple linear regression for factors affecting WTP values. The results of this study found that the average WTP value of the community was Rp. 7,257 / person in the mandatory scenario and Rp. 4,685 / person in the voluntary scenario. Factors that affect the willingness to pay the community for coral reef conservation fees in the Gili Gede fishing area are education and concern for the environment. For factors that affect the amount of the value of willingness to pay the community for coral reef conservation fees in the Gili Gede fishing area in the mandatory scenario are education, domicile and concern for the environment and in the voluntary scenario are gender, education, domicile and concern for the environment

Abstract

The continuously growing opportunities in the digital economy have prompted the Indonesian government to encourage Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) to undergo digital transformation. While there are various approaches available, marketing products/services through social media is believed to be one of the most effective methods. To maximize the benefits of social media marketing adoption for MSMEs, it is indeed crucial to identify the influential factors related to its adoption. Therefore, this study aims to quantitatively identify the factors influencing social media adoption among MSMEs in Indonesia. In this study, attention is directed toward five factors: performance expectancy, social influence, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, and operating costs. The study incorporated 136 actively participating MSMEs that employed social media marketing. We opted to employ Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) due to its suitability for our sample size and potential data characteristics. As we were unsure about the normality of our data and the presence of measurement issues, PLS-SEM provided a robust and flexible approach. It allows us to analyze complex models and handle potential non-normal data and measurement concerns, ensuring reliable results even if such issues arise. Data is processed using the SmartPLS 3.0 software. The research findings indicate that the usage of social media marketing is influenced by performance expectancy and social influence. However, factors such as effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, and costs do not have a significant impact on social media adoption among MSMEs. Furthermore, the results of the study highlight the positive impact of utilizing social media for marketing on the performance of MSMEs, particularly in terms of increasing sales, enhancing customer relationships, improving productivity, and fostering creativity. These findings suggest that MSMEs can leverage social media platforms to achieve tangible benefits and enhance various aspects of their business operations.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the contribution of the performance of the fisheries subsector to economic growth in the Eastern Indonesia Region. Fishing is important for maintaining community identity, social cohesion and individual fishing status, and as the glue that binds communities together. Solutions to challenges in the marine and fisheries sector require a trend of insight and synergy at the regional level, such as IUU fishing, marine waste, fisheries trade barriers that are linked to tariffs. The Pooled Least Square Linear Regression method is used to analyze panel data using a quantitative approach. The sample data used is provincial data in WPPN RI 714, 715 and 718, which consists of 10 provinces cross-section data, 7 years of time series data. The result is that the performance of the fisheries subsector has a significant and positive influence on economic growth in the Eastern Indonesia Region. The magnitude of the influence of Fisheries Subsector Performance on Economic Growth is very strong and the increase is inelastic. The performance of the fisheries subsector can explain 89.92 percent of changes in economic growth.
