Maddah journal is an Islamic communication and counseling journal published by the Faculty of Dakwah, Ibrahimy Situbondo University in collaboration with the Asosiasi Program Studi Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam (ASKOPIS). The scope and focus is to distribute the results of field research and concept analysis originating from researchers, academics and educational practitioners. Issue analysis is more focused on Islamic communication and broadcasting. Maddah journals are published twice a year, namely January and July.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed patterns of media consumption and directly affected the existence of radio as a broadcasting medium. The decline in radio listenership from the early 2000s to the 2020s indicates a shift from analog media to digital platforms. This study aims to analyze the brand transformation of Radio Blambangan 88.1 FM, a local government-owned radio station, in building brand awareness in the digital era through the utilization of digital content and networking. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through semistructured interviews with internal radio stakeholders, digital content analysis, and documentary observation of collaborative activities and networking partnerships. The findings reveal that the brand transformation of Radio Blambangan extends beyond the digitalization of broadcasting through streaming and social media to include changes in communication strategies, the strengthening of its identity as a public radio station, and the enhancement of emotional closeness with audiences through personalized announcer interactions. Furthermore, networking with communities, institutions, and creative industry actors plays a crucial role in expanding reach and reinforcing the radio’s brand image. This transformation has proven effective in maintaining relevance and increasing the brand awareness of Radio Blambangan amid the dominance of digital media.

Abstract

The high challenges in modern household dynamics demand mature preparation for prospective bride and groom couples. The Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Gayam District, Sumenep Regency, implements premarital counseling as an instrument to mitigate the risks of unreadiness. This study aims to analyze the construction and implementation of premarital counseling at KUA Gayam District and its implications for the psychological and religious readiness of prospective couples. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted by juxtaposing field findings with behavior change and marital readiness theories. The research findings indicate that the construction of premarital counseling at KUA Gayam has transformed from a mere administrative procedure into a value incubation process through three pillars: religious (theological foundation), psychological (character exploration), and relational (parental approach). The implementation of counseling utilizes a dialogic lecture method that effectively triggers behavioral changes from the contemplation stage toward collective commitment readiness. Premarital counseling at KUA Gayam is proven to be a strategic social laboratory in strengthening family resilience. The synergy between the internalization of religious values and the strengthening of interpersonal communication significantly contributes to the maturity of prospective couples in facing the complexities of married life.
