Abstract

This study investigates the short-term causal relationships between Indonesia’s capital market and the stock markets of BRICS countries, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, using the Granger Causality Test on daily data from June 2023 to May 2025. Following Indonesia’s formal membership in BRICS in January 2025, understanding these financial linkages becomes increasingly vital for portfolio diversification, risk management, and macroeconomic policy. The analysis reveals significant short-term causal interactions, particularly between the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) and markets such as FTSEJSE (South Africa), BOVESPA (Brazil), MOEX (Russia), and SHANGHAI (China). South Africa emerges as a central transmitter of volatility, while Indonesia demonstrates both influence and sensitivity to BRICS markets. The findings highlight asymmetric integration within BRICS, indicating that while some markets exert predictive influence, others remain relatively independent in the short term. This research contributes to the literature by focusing on Indonesia’s strategic role post-membership and offering practical insights for investors and policymakers. Recommendations include enhancing real-time cross-country market surveillance and further research incorporating macroeconomic variables and nonlinear models to assess long-term integration. The study underlines the growing interdependence among emerging markets in an era of intensified globalization.

Abstract

This study analyzes the operational implementation of the murabahah contract in the Gold Savings product at Pegadaian Syariah UPS Karimata Situbondo and its impact on entrusted fund profits. Murabahah, as a sale and purchase contract with an agreed profit margin, has been applied in Gold Savings, where customers purchase gold gradually using a buy-deposit system. This research employs a case study approach with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Gold Savings product at Pegadaian Syariah utilizes the murabahah contract and a buy-deposit system, allowing customers to store gold balances before printing or reselling them. The benefits of this product include the ease of sharia-compliant gold investment, transaction flexibility, and long-term profit potential. However, challenges such as rising gold prices and the need for public education about this product remain. This study provides insights into the role of the murabahah contract in increasing public interest in gold investment at Pegadaian Syariah.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate customer satisfaction levels at Guest House Sapadia by integrating the SERVQUAL method and the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) within an information system-based framework. The SERVQUAL method is employed to assess service quality across five core dimensions: Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy. Concurrently, the CSI method provides a quantitative overview of overall customer satisfaction, grounded in the perception and relative importance of each service attribute. Data were collected via an online questionnaire completed by 184 respondents and processed through a web-based information system to generate interactive visualizations and automated analyses. The results indicate that Guest House Sapadia achieved a CSI score of 84.57%, which falls under the "satisfied" category, with the Assurance and Reliability dimensions receiving the highest ratings. However, the Tangibles and Responsiveness dimensions require improvement. This study offers strategic recommendations for service enhancement and demonstrates that the implementation of information technology can significantly streamline and facilitate continuous customer satisfaction evaluation.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of workload and work environment on employee turnover intention at PT. XYZ. High turnover intentions can disrupt workforce stability and result in significant costs for the company. Two factors often associated with turnover intention are workload and work environment. Excessive workload can cause stress and fatigue, while an unsupportive work environment can reduce employee satisfaction and commitment. The study uses a quantitative approach, distributing questionnaires to 107 employees and sampling using the saturated sample method. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS software. The hypothesis test tested the influence of workload and work environment on employee turnover intention. The results showed that workload variable (X1) is in the high category, work environment variable (X2) is in the bad category, and turnover intention (Y) is in the medium category. Quantitative data analysis with SEM-PLS showed that workload variables do not have a significant influence on turnover intention, while work environment variables have a significant influence. The research aims to evaluate company management's attention to workload and work environment conditions, with one variable showing a significant positive influence on employee turnover intention.

Abstract

This study examines the obstacles in implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to improve students’ critical thinking skills at SMA Negeri 7 Bone. The main challenges identified are limited learning resources, low student literacy, and high levels of student demotivation. Data were collected through interviews with teachers and analyzed using qualitative methods. The findings reveal that insufficient textbooks, weak internet access, and a lack of digital media hinder students' independent exploration and active participation. Low literacy skills reduce students' ability to analyze and understand information, while demotivation limits their engagement in learning activities. These factors collectively obstruct the development of critical thinking as intended by the PBL model. Addressing these issues requires a holistic approach involving improved learning resources, literacy programs, and motivational support to create an effective and active learning environment.

Abstract

Indonesia has a very large potential for "spices and herbs." Both are abundant as one of the natural resources bestowed by God Almighty. These resources have strategic value in the fields of health, medicine, industry, beauty and economy. However, their utilization has not been optimal in supporting sustainable national economic growth. Therefore, a national agency is needed that specifically manages spices and herbs to increase competitiveness, added value, and their contribution to the Indonesian economy. This study aims to analyze the urgency of establishing the National Spice and Herbal Agency in order to support the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach, using secondary data from various relevant sources. The results of the study show that although Indonesia has abundant spice and herbal resources, their management is still sectoral and not yet integrated. Therefore, the establishment of a national agency that specifically handles this sector is a strategic step to create more effective, sustainable governance, and is able to increase the contribution of the spice and herbal sector to the national economy, including in Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) and exports.

Abstract

Environmental damage that occurs in various countries today requires a new approach to environmental management, where conventional methods that rely on technology and modern laws have not been able to overcome the complexity of contemporary environmental problems. Indonesia as a country with cultural diversity has a wealth of traditional knowledge that has proven effective in preserving nature for centuries. This research aims to analyze how to integrate local wisdom into the national environmental management system through the perspective of environmental ethics and find a model for harmonizing national law with local values without eliminating legal certainty. The research method uses a normative juridical approach with statutory, conceptual, and philosophical analysis through literature study of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials with descriptive qualitative analysis and deductive reasoning. The results show that Indonesian local wisdom has advantages in applying the principles of sustainable environmental ethics through an ecocentric approach that recognizes the intrinsic value of nature, in contrast to modern approaches that tend to be anthropocentric. Harmonization between national law and customary law systems requires a legal pluralism approach that recognizes the coexistence of both systems to create synergies in environmental management. The implementation model of local wisdom integration must be adapted to the specific characteristics of each region through a bottom-up participatory methodology that places local communities as active subjects in the planning, implementation and evaluation of environmental policies to realize sustainable environmental management based on local cultural values.
