Abstract

This journal broadly discusses one of the recurring issues that often befall political parties, especially in Indonesia, which is political conflict and factionalization. The case study referred to in this context occurs within the internal dynamics of the Democratic Party, particularly after the extraordinary National Congress (Munaslub) held in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The theoretical perspectives utilized are political conflict theory and factionalism theory. Political conflict theory, as proposed by Prof. Maswadi Rauf, posits that political conflicts arise from three factors. Firstly, the desire to compete for political positions or power. Secondly, differences in political policies. Thirdly, divergent views on political institutions. Meanwhile, factionalism theory, based on the ideas of Raphael Zariski, defines factions as intra-party groups whose members share the same identity and goals, and they collaborate to achieve those objectives. The research methodology employed is qualitative, supported by in-depth interviews and literature review techniques.

Abstract

Political parties play a crucial role as a means of public political participation and are expected to serve as institutions for educating the public about politics. This creates an obligation for political parties to provide political education to the public. This research aims to analyze the role of political parties in implementing political education for the public. The method used is a literature review. Data collection involves studying various secondary sources, including books, scientific journals, expert opinions, and other relevant sources related to the research problem. The analysis is carried out descriptively and qualitatively to elaborate on the research findings. Political parties are organized groups with members who share common goals and values, primarily seeking political power based on their policies. They encourage political participation by seeking and educating the public to engage in political activities. The function of political parties in providing political education to the public aims to enhance the understanding of good political culture among the public. Political parties can collaborate with the public in conducting political education through political socialization, political education, and campaigning. Such political education should help prevent the occurrence of money politics, black campaigns, and vote-buying during elections.

Abstract

This research examines "phubbing" behavior among Gen-Z and Gen-Y employees at PT Siloam International Hospitals, Indonesia. Phubbing refers to the act of using smartphones while in the presence of others, diverting attention from face-to-face interactions. The study employs a qualitative case study approach, interviewing six participants selected through purposive sampling. Findings reveal a hybrid work system at Siloam, with a mix of face-to-face and virtual communication. Smartphones and laptops play vital roles in work-related communication, with some participants using smartphones for 80-90% of their work hours. Urgency, multitasking, and avoidance of certain topics are cited as reasons for phubbing. Understanding these drivers can help organizations address communication challenges and foster attentive interactions. Promoting mindful smartphone usage can lead to improved workplace dynamics and productivity, emphasizing the importance of empathy and open communication.

Abstract

VOI (Voice of Indonesia) is a professional media in their respective field, that exists and works for Indonesian development. Their content is dominated by cultural promotion and tourism but it’s not delivered subtly. This paper would asses the sense of belonging on VOI broadcast by RRI as an English worldwide broadcast. Content analysis by Krippendorf was used as a methodology to assess the Instagram post by VOI. As a result, VOI can’t be like VICE, subtly presenting information and their dynamic of phrases. This alarms Indonesia to stand out more in international affairs; therefore Indonesia won’t be seen as a country with empty offer.

Abstract

Demand for mortgage finance showed a slowdown. And also, property residential sales showed a slowdown. As is well known, most consumers buy property residential is financed by mortgage finance. Through LTV policy, the Bank of Indonesia wants to stimulate demand for mortgage finance and also property residential sales to could boost economic growth sustainably. A question is whether changes in the LTV ratio could boost economic growth sustainably and whether other factors are affecting demand for mortgage finance. This article sees the question by considering what the impacts are in both lower-middle-income and higher-middle-income provinces. By regressing the statistical model Fixed Effect Model (FEM) and Random Effect Model (REM), the result shows that LTV policy is affecting positively the demand for mortgage finance, particularly in lower-middle-income provinces. When the LTV ratio increased, the demand for mortgage finance in lower-middle-income provinces is higher than the demand for mortgage finance in higher-middle-income provinces. Moreover, mortgage finance reflects normal goods for higher-middle-income provinces while reflecting inferior goods for lower-middle-income provinces. On the other hand, higher mortgage interest lowers the demand for mortgage finance, particularly in lower-middle-income provinces.
