Abstract

Rapid social change and massive technological developments have influenced the values entrenched in campus communities, including ethics, morals, and ethics. This article aims to deeply analyze these concepts and their relevance in the context of education and modern society. The research used a literature review method from five accredited national scientific journals. The results of the study indicate that ethics, morals, and ethics have fundamental differences in terms of their sources and applications, yet they complement each other in shaping students' personalities. In the digital era, shifting values demand a new approach to character education to instill these values adaptively. It is clear that strengthening ethics, morals, and ethics through education not only shapes individuals with character but also serves as a foundation for building a civilized campus community. This article discusses ethics, morals, and ethics from an Islamic perspective and how they are applied in everyday life. This article aims to explain the differences and relationships between these three concepts, as well as the importance of ethics in shaping a Muslim's personality. Ethics is a collection of principles, values, or morals that guide a person's behavior. Ethics also relates to good and bad things in behavior, which include a person's moral rights and obligations in living in society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of folklore-based learning at PKBM Sanggar Lingkaran and its contribution to strengthening learners’ cultural identity. The study employed a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through one month of participant observation using a live-in strategy, in-depth interviews with 13 informants consisting of the PKBM head, administrators, educators, and educational staff, as well as document analysis. Data were analyzed using Spradley’s ethnographic model and supported by ATLAS.ti software. The findings reveal that folklore is integrated into the learning process through oral, partly oral, and non-oral folklore manifested in the Paloh Naga folktale, Malay poems and pantun, performing arts, traditional games, cultural rituals, traditional attire, and local culinary practices connected to Paloh Naga Agro-tourism and Pasar Kamu. The ethnographic findings indicate that learners’ direct engagement in community cultural practices promotes the internalization of cultural values, strengthens their sense of belonging to local culture, and fosters character development, creativity, and social skills. The study contributes by proposing an empirical model of folklore-based learning that positions culture as a living learning resource within community-based education, thereby extending the discourse on cultural identity strengthening in nonformal education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of visual micro-skills in digital pedagogy for correcting misconceptions in trumpet playing techniques at the micro-level of motor skills, particularly in the coordination of embouchure, airflow, and breathing control. The study employs a mixed-methods approach within a design-informed pedagogical inquiry framework. A total of 25 participants were involved in a visual micro-skill-based learning intervention. Quantitative data were obtained through pre-test and post-test, while qualitative data were collected through observation, reflection, and literature review, and subsequently analyzed using paired sample t-tests and thematic analysis. The results show that the integration of video-based visual micro-skills significantly improves micro-level technical skills in trumpet playing (62.00 to 84.72; p < 0.001). Video visualization operated through close-up, slow motion, replay, and pausing clarifies techniques while revealing the coordination of embouchure, airflow, and breathing control that was previously implicit, thereby shifting learning from mechanical imitation toward reflective understanding that integrates visual perception, cognition, and motor response. These findings indicate a shift in learning from mere imitation toward a reflective-analytical process that systematically integrates visual perception, cognition, and motor response. Theoretically, this study strengthens the position of visual micro-skills as a conceptual framework for explaining technique learning at the micro level, while practically providing a foundation for developing trumpet instruction that is more accurate, adaptive, and capable of minimizing technical errors from the early stages.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of body dissatisfaction on the psychological well-being of students at SMA Negeri 21 Medan. A quantitative method with simple linear regression analysis was employed. A sample of 274 students was selected using proportional stratified random sampling from grades X, XI, and XII. The normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method yielded a significance value of 0.095 > 0.05, and the linearity test showed a deviation from linearity value of 0.215 > 0.05, confirming both assumptions were met. The results of the simple linear regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 141.505 – 0.349X. The t-test results showed that body dissatisfaction has a significant negative effect on psychological well-being with t = -6.907 and significance (p) < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that the research hypothesis is accepted. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.149, meaning that body dissatisfaction contributes 14.9% to the variance in psychological well-being, while the remaining 85.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Categorization results revealed that 58.4% of respondents had high levels of body dissatisfaction, while 87.2% of respondents demonstrated high levels of psychological well-being. Therefore, it can be concluded that the higher the level of body dissatisfaction experienced by students, the lower their psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Minangkabau song "Batu Tagak" in elementary school music education from a Culturally Responsive Music Education perspective. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and analysis of the song's sheet music, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results show that the musical characteristics of 'Batu Tagak,' which are simple and easy to learn, support its use as an effective learning resource. Exploring the lyrics helps students understand Minangkabau cultural values related to family relationships, the tradition of merantau (migration), attachment to hometown, and cultural symbols represented in the song. Through singing activities, discussions, and reflections, students actively construct cultural meaning by connecting the song's content with their own experiences. This learning also increases student engagement and strengthens their cultural identity as part of the Minangkabau community. The findings indicate that the musical characteristics of the song and students' cultural experiences work together as a pedagogical mechanism that supports Culturally Responsive Music Education practices. This study concludes that 'Batu Tagak' functions not only as a musical learning material but also as a pedagogical medium that links students' social and cultural experiences with the learning process in elementary schools. These findings demonstrate that traditional songs have the potential as a learning resource in Culturally Responsive Music Education practices, as well as a means of preserving local culture through education

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of understanding interpersonal meaning in the translation of cultural texts, particularly Javanese parikan, which encompasses not only linguistic aspects but also social and cultural values. The study aims to analyze interpersonal meaning variation in the translation of Javanese parikan into Indonesian using the Systemic Functional Linguistics approach and to examine its implications for language learning. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data sourced from parikan in the book Parikan-Pantun Jawa. The sample consists of 100 clauses selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis focuses on identifying mood and residue structures to examine interpersonal meaning shifts between source and target texts. The findings reveal that low variation dominates at 62%, followed by moderate variation at 25% and high variation at 13%. These results indicate that most interpersonal structures in the source text are preserved in the translation due to the grammatical similarities between Javanese and Indonesian. Furthermore, the study shows that parikan can be utilized as a contextual learning resource, as it helps students understand the relationship between linguistic structure and social function. Therefore, the Systemic Functional Linguistics approach is not only effective for translation analysis but also relevant for developing culturally based language learning.

Abstract

Ecological crises, marked by environmental degradation and the weakening of human–nature relationships, reflect the limitations of environmental education paradigms that remain dominated by cognitive and normative approaches. Such approaches often fail to cultivate ecological awareness grounded in lived experience, cultural contexts, and community-based social practices. This study aims to analyze Purun Puppet Theatre as an arts-based ecopedagogy model that supports the sustainability of environmentally grounded cultural wisdom. The study employed Participatory Action Research and Arts-Based Research, involving 31 participants in Palangka Raya. PAR was used to examine the production process of Purun Paper Puppets, while ABR was applied to analyze the implementation of Purun Puppet Theatre as an ecopedagogical stage. Post-performance sustainability implications were explored through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and all data were interpreted within the conceptual frameworks of PAR and ABR. The findings indicate that Purun Puppet Theatre operates through three epistemic stages. First, formation of praxis, referring to the development of ecological understanding through the production of Purun Paper Puppets, integrating purun materiality, place-based experiences, and community participation as ecological learning practices. Second, knowledge production, referring to the implementation of Purun Puppet Theatre as an ecopedagogical stage that generates cultural–ecological knowledge through relationships among puppets, materials, narratives, audiences, and the social space of performance. Third, knowledge translation, referring to the translation of environmentally grounded cultural wisdom through post-performance reflection, strengthening ecological awareness, empathy toward human–nature relationships, and the reinterpretation of local purun wisdom within the context of environmental sustainability. This study demonstrates that Purun Puppet Theatre functions not only as a medium for communicating ecological messages but also as an arts-based ecopedagogy model that produces and translates cultural–ecological knowledge in reflective, participatory, and contextual ways.
