Jurnal Sains dan Aplikasi Keilmuan Teknik Industri (SAKTI) is the official publication of the Industrial Engineering Universitas Ma Chung. The logo of SAKTI consisting of water, a gear-shaped sun, and nature. Water represents something adaptable as well as a source of life, the sun represents new hope, and nature is the natural world and all the living things in it. As a result, SAKTI is established as a platform to support an ethical approach to research in the fields of industrial engineering and engineering management that is always up to date and adaptable, enabling it to benefit of all living things, particularly in Indonesia. With SAKTI, we can explore, develop, and elucidate the knowledge of industrial engineering and engineering management, to keep practitioners and researchers informed on current issues and best practices and to provide a platform for the sharing of ideas, knowledge, and expertise between researchers and practitioners. SAKTI accepts manuscripts pertaining to studies on the theoretical creation or real-world use of engineering management and industrial engineering technologies from manufacturing, healthcare, education, and other organizations. Submissions pertaining to literature reviews on particular theories or areas of inquiry are also welcome. Abstract

PT. Duta Borneo Abadi is a company that produces large-scale concrete as their main product. In the production process, the main machine used is the batching plant machine. Due to its critical role, the batching plant machine has the potential for breakdowns, causing disruptions in the production process. Therefore, the identification and analysis of potential hazards are necessary, using the Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) method. HAZOP is a technique for identifying and analyzing deviations in the operation of the machine process. This study used machine damage data, machine maintenance data, pipe and instrument diagrams, and process flow diagrams. Based on the observations, six study points were identified to facilitate the identification of hazards, namely, the aggregate storage zone, weighing zone, delivery zone, cement storage zone, water storage and delivery zone, and mixing zone. The HAZOP worksheet analysis revealed 17 potential hazards, consisting of 15 low-risk hazards and 2 high-risk hazards. Based on the risk potential, recommendations for safeguards for each hazard and the creation of a daily checksheet to check machine components every month are proposed to prevent hazards from occurring.

Abstract

This research aims to minimize waste and increase revenue by utilizing soybean waste in the form of soybean skins and cooking water to produce Tempeh flour and Nata de soya. The study was conducted at Amanah where approximately 50-60 kg of solid waste and more than 45 liters of liquid waste are generated every day. The waste was collected, analyzed, and processed using a business design analysis method. Data were collected through interviews and observations with the owner of Amanah. The financial aspect of the business plan was evaluated using the payback period (PP), net present value (NPV), and internal rate of return (IRR). The results showed that the business plan had a PP of 2.58 years and was considered feasible with an NPV of $42,321,728.56 and an IRR of 56%, which is higher than the minimum acceptable rate of return (MARR) of 17.1%. This research provides a solid foundation for Amanah to develop the project further in the future. Therefore, this study is expected to be useful for other Tempeh industries that want to minimize waste and increase their revenue through waste utilization.

Abstract

PT XYZ, a ball manufacturer, faced difficulty in setting a labor schedule due to the Pandemi situation, which resulted in limited operational costs and a decline in ball demand. This study aims to solve the problem of regulating the number of workers using the Tibrewala, Philippe & Browne algorithm. The algorithm helps in determining the amount of daily labor required for each production process. The data processing was carried out during Pandemi to determine the effective labor scheduling for all operators. The results showed the need for a reduction in labor, which was achieved by modeling effective labor scheduling within a week period. The cost analysis showed that scheduling could reduce operational costs. Therefore, the study suggested providing training to each operator to work on the entire production process so that the number of operators off is minimized. The algorithm can be beneficial in regulating the workforce in a job order-based company.

Abstract

UD Sekar Jaya is a rice production business that has been operating since 1985 in Bangorejo district, Banyuwangi, East Java. The company sources its raw materials, rice, from various suppliers and also from farmers directly. UD. Sekar Jaya uses rice milling machines, dryers, and kiby machines in its production activities. However, no productivity measurement has been carried out in the production process, and therefore, it is necessary to measure productivity that includes material, labor, and energy. The productivity measurement was only carried out in the production department of premium torch rice. The Multi Factor Productivity Measurement Model (MFPMM) method was used to measure the level of productivity in rice milling or rice production. The results of the MFPMM method showed productivity, price recovery, and profitability from UD Sekar Jaya. After analyzing the results, it was found that the productivity of UD Sekar Jaya has decreased from the material, labor, energy, and total factors. Therefore, productivity improvement implementation was carried out, such as finding good quality rice, increasing tara if the quality of rice is poor, placing workers to examine rice, and implementing a wholesale salary system. Changes in productivity index after the implementation of materials, milling and kiby labor, waste labor, energy, and total input were (1.0087), (1.0828), (1.0828), (1.0352), and (1.099), respectively. This increase indicates that the implementation carried out was successful in improving the productivity of UD Sekar Jaya.

Abstract

This study focuses on the application of quality control through the FMEA method with the fuzzy approach in the bread food industry. The case study is in PT XYZ, which produces several bread products. The FMEA method is used to identify the potential failure of the production process, but it has a weakness in producing an identical RPN value. To overcome this weakness, the fuzzy approach using the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) with the Mamdani concept is applied to produce the Fuzzy RPN (FRPN) value. The FRPN calculations can determine the priority improvement in bread products, which can be ranked 1-5. The implementation of the proposed improvements, such as the training of operators, maintenance of machines, repairs of uneven roads, and rest periods for machines, can reduce product disability to 1%. The study shows that the application of the FMEA method with the fuzzy approach is effective in identifying and prioritizing the improvement of product quality in the food industry. The results can help companies to enhance their production process and product quality.

Abstract

This research focuses on designing marketing strategies and improving the quality of bird feed production at Sinar Mas, with the aim of maintaining marketing and increasing product sales. The study utilizes the SWOT and FMEA methods, with data collected from interviews and questionnaires over the past year. The current pandemic situation has brought challenges to Sinar Mas, making it necessary to propose alternative marketing strategies and quality improvement measures. The study proposes alternative marketing strategies based on the SWOT analysis and designs proper proposals for applying the FMEA method to improve the quality of Sinar Mas' products. The proposed measures include enhancing the marketing mix and designing a marketing strategy that is suitable for the current pandemic situation, including the use of digital marketing and optimizing social media platforms. Additionally, product quality improvements such as regular machine maintenance, improving packaging, and using high-quality ingredients are recommended. The study highlights the importance of continuously evaluating marketing strategies and product quality to maintain the competitiveness of IKMs in challenging situations. The findings of this study could be valuable for other small and medium industries facing similar challenges during the pandemic period.

Abstract

 Pacific Ball Inkor is facing several problems in their raw material supply activities such as stock accumulation, materials not passing the test, and delayed production process. To prevent potential risks, this research aims to identify and analyze risk agents using the Supply Chain Operation Reference model and House of Risk method. The study found 17 risks and 13 risk agents, and 9 selected risk agents were analyzed in HOR Phase 2 to obtain mitigation strategies. Finally, 12 mitigation strategies were obtained, which could be helpful for the company to manage and prevent potential risks. This research emphasizes the importance of risk identification and analysis in the supply chain management to minimize the impact of potential risks on the company's operations.

Abstract

PT Inkor Bola Pacific is a company that produces various types of balls according to the demand. However, the lack of a clear list of criteria for selecting suppliers has led to problems in fulfilling raw material needs. This research aims to identify the criteria that must be met to choose suppliers and determine priority criteria. The Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process method is used to determine the weight of each criterion through assessments obtained from questionnaires. The assessment is converted into a Fuzzy scale and the paired matrix is calculated to determine the ranking of each criterion. The results show that the weight of quality is 0.7874 and the weight of price is 0.2126 for fast-moving raw materials. For slow-moving raw materials, quality is given a weight of 1. The prioritization of criteria helps the purchase department to choose suppliers according to the company's standards. The findings can contribute to improving the supply chain management of PT Inkor Bola Pacific and other companies in similar industries.

Abstract

PT Dwi Putra Perkasa is one of the large convection companies in Malang City, East Java. The increasingly fierce competition in the industrial world requires companies to continue to improve their business. The implementation of a good and ergonomic system is one of the main factors that support the progress of a business. There are two problems identified at PT Dwi Putra Perkasa. First, a less structured work system makes workers less optimal in doing work. Second Uncertain natural lighting affects the performance of workers. This research was conducted with two methods, namely micromotion study for work system problems and experimental design methods using a complete random design to determine the effect of lighting. The results of the analysis showed that through the micromotion study method there was an increase in efficiency at each station, namely: Station 1 was 102.93%, Station 2 was 125.38%, Station 3 was 112.31%, and Station 4 was 105.98%. While through the experimental design it was found that performance at station one was not affected by light intensity while stations 2, 3, and 4 were affected. In addition it can also be concluded that the lamp used is a lamp with a light intensity of 140 lux.

Abstract

This study aimed to propose a layout design for the dining area of Dr Mochtar Riady Student Center, Universitas Ma Chung using ergonomics to maximize the area and support facilities. Currently, the dining area is not utilized optimally, and the facilities are inadequate. The study utilized an ergonomic approach to develop a layout design that can maximize the area and support facilities on the 1st and 2nd floors. The proposed design includes an increase in tables from 36 to 138, chairs from 190 to 652, electrical contact areas from 3 to 22, and trash bins from 3 to 14. Additionally, the design includes new facilities for stands, booths, sinks, and return racks to enhance the dining experience. The proposed layout design can provide a comfortable and ergonomic dining area for students, employees, and lecturers. The results of the study can be used as a reference for other universities in optimizing their dining areas.
