Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate the connection between parental support and academic achievement among primary school students (grades 1 to 5) in CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) schools. CBSE schools are known for their precise academic standards, and their primary education curriculum highlights physical, emotional, social, and mental development, requiring support from parents. This research focuses on both working and single stay-at-home parents and their impact on academic performance based on the amount of time they offer to their children's academics daily. The research question is whether there is a connection between parental support and academic achievement, considering the conditions of both working and stay-at-home parents. As students spend more time with their families than at school, it is expected that their academic performance will be affected by their family environment. Therefore, this study seeks to investigate the relationship between parental involvement in school and students' academic achievement. The research will involve a general study of both working and stay-at-home parents and their levels of parental support for academics. A quantitative research approach will be used, with 140 parents of primary school students (both working and single stay-at-home) completing a Microsoft form questionnaire to evaluate their parental support and its impact on academic performance.

Abstract

The application of accounting towards zero carbon emissions in power generation companies is a strategic initiative in facing the challenges of global climate change. Power generation companies are increasingly realizing the importance of reducing their environmental impact by adopting sustainable practices. One of the key steps in achieving this goal is to implement accounting that focuses on measuring, reporting, and managing carbon emissions. The study examines power companies' efforts in implementing zero carbon emissions accounting as part of their sustainability strategy. The approach involved identifying, measuring, and reporting carbon emissions from companies' operations, energy resources, and supply chains. This data is then used to develop carbon emission reduction strategies and identify energy efficiency opportunities. The results of the study show that the implementation of zero carbon emission accounting has helped power generation companies to identify potential carbon emission reductions, improve their operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and support business continuity. In addition, public disclosures about carbon emissions have strengthened the company's image in the eyes of stakeholders, such as customers, investors, and regulators.

Abstract

Legal news has a crucial role in providing information and understanding to the public about ongoing legal cases. However, often the news can be affected by certain biases or viewpoints, which can affect the objectivity of the news narrative. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the role of journalistic language in building balanced legal news narratives, by considering aspects of objectivity and equality of information. The research method in this study is qualitative. The data collection technique was carried out by literature study obtained from Google Schoolar and legal news articles published in the 2020-2023 period in various trusted mass media. The data that has been collected will be analyzed qualitatively using content analysis techniques. The results showed that a balanced legal news narrative must meet specific criteria, including prioritizing fairness, accuracy, and neutrality in the delivery of information. Democratic journalistic language avoids differences in level or rank in the use of language and prioritizes active sentences to be more easily understood by readers. In addition, journalistic language must also adhere to standard language rules and ethics to reflect honesty, sincerity and respect for individual privacy. By adhering to these criteria, legal news narratives can be considered balanced, able to provide a comprehensive picture, and respect the interests of society as a whole.
