Coordination, regulation, decentralization, and integration are the most frequently written samples of tweets. Two hashtags are most often included in the tweet of the @kemendagri account, namely #kemendagri and #infokemendagri. the word that appears most often is "Praja." "Praja" is a word to greet the audience or people who follow the Twitter account @kemendagri. There have been concrete efforts to integrate promotion through social media with a decentralized approach, in which the Ministry of Internal Affairs has given local governments the freedom to actively contribute to managing the Twitter account. This decentralized approach illustrates Ministry of Internal Affairs commitment to empowering local governments and increasing their participation in government communication processes.

Abstract

This study assesses the degree to what extent civil society organizations (CSOs) can make the local governments decision-making more inclusive and participatory to meet the demands of citizens at the grassroots in Bangladesh. The study specifically explores the role of CSOs in mobilizing public engagement and affecting decision-making to promote participatory governance at the Jhilongjha union parishad, the lowest tier of local government, in Bangladesh. By utilizing qualitative research approach, this paper reveals that the CSOs are not very instrumental in establishing participatory governance in the study location. The participatory avenues at the grassroots like village court, ward meetings, and open budgeting are found to be running without expected level of peoples participation. The reasons behind the CSOs failure in promoting participatory local governance in this context include high power distance culture, adverse political environment, lack of education among citizens, and distrust among the citizens regarding local government.

Abstract

The tax revenue ratio is seen as a better indicator for determining the contribution of tax revenue in the economy of a country in low performance with Gross Domestic Product. The World Bank stated that a tax to GDP ratio of at least 15% would produce positive economic growth and could be a long- term solution to overcoming poverty. However, efforts to increase the tax to GDP ratio are not an easy challenge for developing countries, including Indonesia. Efforts to find solutions to these challenges have also been a never-ending task for the Indonesian tax authorities for almost the last ten years. Using qualitative methods, this article tries to identify policy instruments that have been implemented and developed by the Directorate General of Taxes as the main agency collecting state revenues in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to develop the comprehensionof the presence of an Islamophobicoutlook in counter-terrorism measures in Indonesia. Thisoutlook affects both the process of formulating and implementing counter-terrorism policies. This undergoes a process of institutionalization by interpreting terrorism in statutory regulations because it crept through a formal structure whileformulating the policy.By using a qualitative approach, and content and critical analysis, this research investigates three cases of the implementation of the counter-terrorism policies:the screening of Muhammad and Alis names at Soekarno Hatta airport, contradiction in the status of the bomber by Leopard at the Taman Anggrek Mall, and the identification of Siyono as an extreme Islamic activist. We argue that the implementation of counter-terrorism policies encounters accountability issues, especially regarding the emergence of authority abuse and double standards during implementation. It confirms the public perception that the counter-terrorism policy is imbued with hostility towards Islam.
