Abstract

The use of information technology has become mandatory in various schools in Indonesia, one of which is in the new student admission process (PPDB). However, the new student admission process at SMK Bina Mandiri Al Qodiriyah is still not optimal because it still uses manual procedures and does not have an official web-based system. Therefore, a system is needed to assist the registration and admission process of new students. This research specifically focuses on the interface design stage (frontend/UI/UX) using the Human Centered Design (HCD) approach, without including backend development or database integration. This PPDB information system aims to transform the manual process into an efficient, easily accessible, and enable fast verification of student data. The research produced an interface prototype in the form of a wireframe and mockup that was tested using the usability testing method on 20 respondents (students, parents, and school committee). The results of the usability test showed a user satisfaction level of 85% with an average SUS score of 78, indicating the interface is easy to use and understand. Thus, this design is expected to make a real contribution to schools with limited digital literacy and low internet access.

Abstract

This research discusses the design and development of a promotional website for the creative economy at the Department of Culture and Tourism of Banyuwangi Regency to address issues related to creative economy promotion and data collection. The aim of this study is to design a promotional website system for the creative economy that can effectively implement a website system, display dynamic data on the website, and ensure that users can easily navigate the website. The website design uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. The scope of this research includes the focus on the design and testing of the website. The creative economy promotional website features main functionalities including a subsector menu, a creative economy registration menu, and a validation menu, and has been tested using the black-box testing method. The black-box testing results show that the system's functionality runs as expected. This conclusion indicates that the design and development of the creative economy website have successfully addressed the issues faced by the department and creative economy actors.

Abstract

The dissemination of information today is largely conducted through websites, making it easier for everyone to access information anywhere with the internet. Various formal institutions utilize websites for marketing, information, education, communication, and promotion. One such utilization is the website of SMPN 2 Bangorejo, which aims to attract prospective new students to enroll at SMPN 2 Bangorejo. However, the promotion through the website has not been optimal, as interviews conducted with 6th-grade elementary school students revealed that they were unaware of the SMPN 2 Bangorejo website. A presentation of the school website was then conducted for the students, and it was found that the 6th-grade students encountered several difficulties in navigating the website. This study aims to provide design recommendations for the SMPN 2 Bangorejo website. An initial survey calculated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method yielded a score of 49.71 with a "worst" indicator, proving that the website needs UI/UX improvements. After improvements were made using the User-Centered Design (UCD) method, which includes four stages: understanding the context of use, specifying user requirements, designing solutions, and evaluating against requirements, the SUS score increased to 82.8 with an "excellent" indicator. The increase in the SUS score demonstrates that the User-Centered Design (UCD) method resulted in a new design that received a better response from users.

Abstract

At the Modern Islamic Boarding School (PPM) Al-Azhar Muncar, the issues of time and distance between parents and students often hinder the monitoring and communication processes. To address these problems, a web-based student monitoring application for PPM Al-Azhar Muncar was developed. This web-based application will enable effective recording and monitoring of attendance, grades, violations, and student permissions. However, the development of this web-based application faced challenges such as limited time and uncertain feature complexity. As a result, feature development was limited to non-academic areas (Islamic boarding school activities). To overcome the limited time constraint, the research employed the iterative incremental method, which allows for the gradual addition of features and improvements. This method enables the development team to implement and test each feature incrementally in small iterations, allowing usable results to be released earlier, even while other features are still under development. With this approach, development can continue despite the limited available time, as the essential core features can already function properly. This research focuses on backend development using the Laravel framework. The development process went through four iterations, with each iteration comprising the inception, elaboration, construction, and transition phases. During the transition phase, unit testing was conducted. The backend development resulted in features for violations, attendance, permissions, and grading. Testing results indicated that each unit tested, both for valid and invalid cases, met the expected outcomes. Thus, the research was successfully conducted. For future research, the existing features can be expanded to cover academic areas (general education)

Abstract

Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School is located in Muncar District, Banyuwangi Regency. So far, the Islamic boarding school has only been able to convey information on the students' progress to parents when collecting report cards at the end of the semester, this is considered less than optimal in terms of supervision of the students. To overcome this problem, a web-based student monitoring application has been developed which aims to make it easier to convey information to student guardians. Integration testing is carried out to ensure that every feature in the application can be connected properly. Features tested include violations, permissions, absences, and grades features, to ensure they can function properly simultaneously in their absence bug or data errors. This test is carried out to ensure that the connected features can work optimally, so that the data produced valid and reduce the potential for errors in conveying information. Testing carried out on 24 scenarios showed results with an effectiveness level of 100%, with all features declared to have passed the test. This proves that the integration between features in the application can run well.

Abstract

Abstract One of the Islamic boarding schools located in Banyuwangi is the Al-Azhar Modern Islamic Boarding School, which is located in Muncar District. At the Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School, information regarding the development of students is only provided during the distribution of report cards at the end of the semester and only contains information regarding academic development. So when a student's guardian wants to know about a child's development, they have to visit the Islamic boarding school directly. Visits are limited to two times a month. This causes parents to be less able to monitor their child's development effectively and can lead to miscommunication. Given this problem, a student-based monitoring application is needed web as a medium for conveying information regarding the development of students with the main features, namely violations, absenteeism, assessments, achievements. In designing the interface, researchers use methods User Centered Design (UCD), this method was chosen because it involves the user in the design process to create an interface design that suits the user's needs. Researchers carried out tests using the method System Usability Scale (SUS) to assess the level of application usability for 30 respondents, namely student administrators and guardians with the final SUS result of each feature getting a score of 75.7 converted into Grade B. It can be concluded that the interface development created is in accordance with the user's needs and desires.

Abstract

An educational institution has a unit responsible for managing consumable goods. Currently, this process is still conducted semi-computerized or manually using manual formulas and online spreadsheets. This leads to inefficiencies and inaccuracies in grouping and numbering used and new incoming items. This research aims to address these issues by developing a web-based application called "SICATAT" for managing consumable goods. The application is developed using PHP and the Laravel framework with a MySQL database. The RAD (Rapid Application Development) method is used to analyze and design the procedures and systems for managing consumable goods. The RAD approach emphasizes the development of responsive and fast software through iterative and repetitive user feedback. It is hoped that the resulting application can manage the consumable goods data effectively, including managing the addition of new items and accurately and efficiently submitting consumable goods. Thus, it is expected that this application can improve efficiency, accuracy, and ease in managing consumable goods in educational institutions, making the process more structured and accessible to all relevant parties. This application will also assist in the overall management of consumable goods.

Abstract

Previously, the infaq recording process at MA Baiturrahman Banyuwangi was conducted manually, which often led to data inaccuracies and delays in information recap. This study aims to develop a web-based infaq information system to improve data accuracy and management efficiency. The development method used is the waterfall model, as it offers a structured approach suitable for system with well-defined requirements from the outset. The technologies implemented include PHP, MySQL, HTML, adn CSS. The system provides login features with two user roles (admin and user), infaq data management based on class levels (10, 11, and 12), data filtering by month and year, and report printing. Admins have full acces to manage data, while users are limited to adding and printing data. System testing was conducted using the Black Box method to ensure each feature functions as intended. Based on the research findings, the implementation of this system has proven effective in recuding recording errors, speeding up data recap processes, and enhacing the overall efficiency of infaq management at MA Baiturrahman Banyuwangi.

Abstract

The computer laboratory is a vital facility for technology-based learning and practical activities in education, ranging from high school to university level. However, scheduling conflicts often arise when multiple groups need access to the lab at the same time. This is mainly due to the fact that scheduling and activity reporting are still managed manually. Such a system frequently causes inefficiencies and disrupts the workflow. To address this issue, a web-based computer lab journal system needs to be developed. This system is designed using the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) programming language with the Laravel framework, and it uses MySQL as its database. The system development follows the waterfall model. With this solution, lab management is expected to become easier, more organized, and better able to support learning through a computerized approach.

Abstract

The process of managing inventory of goods at SMK Gajah Mada Banyuwangi is currently still done manually, namely by recording goods data in notebooks or using spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel. This manual method causes various problems in the process of managing inventory data, such as lack of time efficiency, potential recording errors, difficulty in finding goods information, and the slow process of making inventory reports required by the school. This condition has an impact on the less than optimal supervision of the availability and condition of goods. To solve this problem, the author conducted a study aimed at building a web-based goods inventory system at SMKS Gajah Mada. The system development method used in this study is the waterfall method with stages of analysis, system design, implementation, testing and maintenance. The analysis stage is divided into two stages, namely needs analysis and system design analysis. In the needs analysis stage, the author conducted interviews, observations, documentation and literature studies. While in the system design analysis stage, the UML diagram is used to describe the user flow and create an interface display. For the system design stage, the author designed the structure of the login form, goods form, borrowing form, return form and borrowing hours form and reporting. In the implementation stage, the author carried out the coding process, which aims to adjust the system design and analysis results that have been designed previously. Furthermore, in the testing stage, the author checked whether all features in the system were running properly. In the maintenance stage, the system will be monitored and repaired if errors or deficiencies are found when used. The expected result of this study is an inventory processing system at SMKS Gajah Mada Banyuwangi.
