Abstract

Abstract Objectives: The availability of prevalence data for osteoporosis in Indonesia is limited due to the constrained access to BMD measurements, especially in rural areas. Integrated Health Post for the Elderly (Posyandu Lansia) is one of the Indonesian government's programs to monitor and provide health care for the elderly, including postmenopausal women. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of osteoporosis and related risk factors in postmenopausal women. Methods: Respondents were 249 postmenopausal women from 440 people who attended the Posyandu Lansia from 9 villages in Sidoarjo. Quantitative ultrasound was used for calcaneal BMD measurement; other data were collected via questionnaires and enumerated by trained villagers. Results: Our study revealed that the prevalence of osteoporosis postmenopausal women was 73.5%. The osteoporosis risk factors of age, BMI, weight, and menopause duration were associated with T-scores both individually (p<0.05) or simultaneously (p< 0.001), while menopause age and exercise did not. Conclusions: Groups possessing high-risk factors associated with a high prevalence of osteoporosis are postmenopausal women age ≥ 65 years, BMI < 20 kg/m2, weight < 58 kg and duration of menopause > 6 years. Regardless of the groupings, the prevalence of osteoporosis was very high in postmenopausal women. Dietary and exercise adjustments as well as pharmacotherapy may be required to improve their bone health.

Abstract

Introduction Caesarean section is usually limited to factors that vaginal delivery is not possible or associated with the serious risks to the fetus and mother. So, it is expected a few specific indications forces are an delivery, and the rates do not exceed certain limits. But in our country today, the cesarean rate is reported to be more than acceptable. The aim of this study was to evaluate the social, cultural and demographic factors associated with the choice of delivery method. Methods the population of pregnant women was in cities and villages around Uremia city and the intended sample sizewas299 for pregnant women of which171wereurbanand 128 were rural. Sampling was in classification. Using question naire, data was collected and data was analyzed by SPSS software and logistic regression and Pearson Chi-Square. Results Inferential multi variate statistics and findings indica tea significant association between maternal education and the mother's age and father's occupation and child birth with choosing cesarean, but there was no significant relationship between the place of residence (urbanorrural), father's education, mother's occupation, father's occupation, father's age, wanted and unwanted babies and sex with choosing cesarean. The variables, maternal education, maternal age and rating childbirth were entered. According to the importance of place of residence variable its correlation with mode of delivery was confirmed using the Chi-square test. Conclusion Maternal education, maternal age, parental occupation, rating childbirth andplace of residence (urbanorrural) variables was the most important factors in choosing cesarean section. So, it is necessary to organize training workshops form others with high education and young age that are experiencing their first pregnancy, to reduce cesarean section cost. Keywords: Pregnant women, Cesarean section, vaginal delivery.

Abstract

The training for athletes in the basketball sports must have the excellent biomotor skills, especially in the components of the strength of the arm muscle to be able to do the passing and shooting with the maximum movement. The basketball game uses three main elements namely passing and catching, dribling, and shooting. Until now, the training technique in order to maximize the function of the arm muscle is carried out by loading sand in the body weighing 0.5 kg. This training technique is felt to be uncomfortable when moving, thus another technique is needed to perfect it, namely the training with the medicine ball. This research is a quasi-experimental study using the randomized pre and posttest control group design. The results show that the comparison of athlete's arm muscle strength levels using the conventional training technique with the medicine ball in a row, with the result of 21.45 : 42.3, i.e., there is an increase in the strength of the arm muscle by 49.29% in the medicine ball training. The training by using the medicine ball is an exercise plan using a 1.7-kg medicine ball which can improve the conventional training method.

Abstract

There are many forensic  techniques used today that benefit to identify human remains from mass grave, explosion, fire, disasters, first step of DNA analysis was DAN extraction from biological evidence ,DNA retraction must be free from contamination as possible. The source of DNA is varying numerous as blood, saliva, nail, hair, bone, skin, urine and teeth. All source of DNA can be isolated from any living or dead organism even from ancient specimens. The aims of this study was evaluated DNA  states in teeth samples which exposure to heat at different time, Teeth sample were collected from 30 female from Q adisiyah province \ Iraq. Extraction of DNA were made by Gene MATREX UROX Bone DNA purification kit ,27teeth were burn at 100°C,500°C,1000°C  for(10,30,60) minutes,3 sample of teeth were extraction without exposure to heat as control. The results show that genomic DNA was obtained only in samples exposure to 100°Cand 500°C, no DNA was obtained from samples at 1000°C. The amplification of Exon -7 of gene CYP1A1 by PCR show that 20% of samples was amplified in the 100 C and 500 C grope and no amplification appeared in 1000 C samples. We concluded that DNA was more stable in teeth sample under different temperature, furthermore sample under 1000 C need more investigation like RT-PCR to detect DNA state in low concentrations and purity. Keywords: DNA states, Forensic evidence, Teeth samples PCR.
