Abstract

Bacterial messaging and chatting, or Quorum sensing (QS) is a way that permitting the coordination behaviors of groups between many common bacterial pathogens. Objectives: Phenotypic detection of Quorum sensing production followed by Molecular Detection and Sequencing of its gene sdiA. Materials and Methods: A primers pair for PCR detection of sdiA gene of Salmonella enterica serovar enteritidis and typhymurium had been designed for its detection and followed by its sequencing for detection of mutation using automated sequencing. These were preceded by phenotypic detection of QS. Results: Quorum sensing produced by S. enterica was studied. Results revealed that homoserine lactone production causes the appearance of bacterial cells aggregation, which appears best after 4hours of incubation where it is representing a maximum concentration of homoserine lactone. In addition, sdiA gene is present in all isolates. Sequencing of sdiA gene from isolates of Salmonella enterica serovar enteritidis and typhymurium propose that there were 8 mutations in three isolates, also gave identity in a percentage of (98-99%) with standard strand according to NCBI web site. Keywords: Quorum sensing, Salmonella enterica, sdiA, sequencing.

Abstract

Rehabilitation of posterior maxilla is compromised by deficient residual bone height. Sinus lift procedure can be performed by either lateral or crestal approach. Crestal approach had many advantages in comparison with the lateral approach. Hydraulic pressure devices for sinus membrane elevation have demonstrated a low risk of sinus membrane perforation as well as ease of application. Endoscopic surgery has change the philosophy and practice of modern implant surgery in all aspects, it give rise to minimally invasive surgery procedures based on the ability to visualize sinus membrane perforation and to operate in an optimum manner. Assessing and evaluating the efficacy of osung sinus lift kit and the presence of maxillary sinus membrane perforation with the use of endoscopy, were the aim of this present study, thirty patients in rolled in this study with mean age of 46.86 years divided into 2 groups: group A (Osung) the hydraulic pressure technique and group B (osteotome) the conventional osteotome technique. For each patient, orthopantomography and cone beam computed tomography were recommended, an endoscope used intraoperatively in each case to assess the presence of shniedrian membrane perforation, 51.9% (27 cases) were managed by osung procedure for sinus lift, while 48.1% (25 cases) were managed by osteotome sinus lift, the perforation of sinus membrane occurred in (7.7%) in both groups. The use of endoscope is simple and quick for direct visualization of the Schneider membrane, maxillary sinus floor elevation using Osung water lift system kit is a predictable procedure with a low perforation rate. Abstract

The effects of dissolving zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) in two solvents, (N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF)/water, dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO)/water, tetrahydrofuran (THF)/water), on the absorption spectra and infrared spectra were studied using (UV–Vis) spectroscopy and FTIR spectrophotometer. Solvents affected on the photochemical and photophysical properties of ZnPc complexes. The noticed trend inside the difference of Q-band position with solvent was occasionally attributed to solvent parameters comprising aromaticity, arrange power, polarity, and refractive index. UV-V spectra analysis showed non-proof of aggregation in sol as a display throught great unperturbed phthelocyanine Q band. zinc phthalocyanine emerge absorption spectra with duo essential band electron the Q band with a generality (685, 675 and 680) nm separately as well as Soret B band with an extreme of (340, 340 and 350) nm separately. Farthest potential aggregation included method is such the H-aggregation because of rise shift energy of absorption spectrum as well as provided information via the potential electrostatic allocation onto molecule zinc phthalocyanine . FTIR results showed that elevate include peaks belongs to ZnPc with the alteration in the present of the two solvent furthermore little shift toward low energy existed. Abstract

Modified atmosphere and vacuum packaging were believed as emerging innovative technologies for food preservation. They changed food environment by withdrawing O2 or replacing the atmosphere inside the package by a mixture of gases. Mudskipper (Pseudapocryptes elongatus) has huge potential for coastal aquaculture development and is an alternative to shrimp farming in the Mekong Delta. Mudskipper fishes were refrigerated and stored at 4oC for 21 days under vacuum and modified atmosphere packaging. These samples were analyzed the changes of major chemical parameters such as total volatile base (TVB-N, mg TVB/g), trimethylamine (TMA, mg TMA/g), thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS, mg malondialdehyde/kg) during preservation. Results revealed that vacuum packaging could maintain chemical quality attributes for 15 days; meanwhile modified atmosphere packaging could extend the chemical quality indicators for 20 days. It’s obviously presumed that modified atmosphere packaging should be an alternative technology for seafood storage. Keywords: Mudskipper, Vacuum, Modified atmosphere packaging, Total volatile base, Trimethylamine, thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances.
