Abstract

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) may affect all spheres of a child’s life. One of the areas of the behavioral spectrum need to be focused is affected. Thus, the study is enthused in impaired emotional regulation (ER) affecting children with ASD. The significance of ER is related to that promoting adaptive behavior in children; indeed, disturbed ER in ASD children leads to emotional and behavioral problems. Commonly children with ASD lack adaptive ER strategies thus they react impulsively and inadequately to emotional stimuli thus it affects their psychological well-being. Though ER in ASD children is intrinsic the nurturing of these children with an understanding of ER can promote better psychological wellbeing. Thus, study objectives to examine a) the impact of ASD on their ER b) the impact of ER on the psychological wellbeing of children with ASD c) To develop awareness among these parents regarding the impact of ER on the psychological wellbeing of their ASD child. d) To propose a new model of parental education about ER and its significance on psychological wellbeing of ASD children. This study takes a base on the keenly examined past evidence on impaired ER in ASD children and its impact on psychological wellbeing. Proposal for aiding ER through parental education has introduced. The conclusion drawn in this study is that the intervention can be more promising with educating parents regarding ER, may help their child to gain maximum from therapeutic intervention. The new proposed model of intervention extends the further scope for research in this regard. Keywords: ASD; Emotional regulation, Parent’s education, Intervention.

Abstract

Abstract: Objective:to analyzevarious growth factor (GF) content in umbilical cord derived mesenchymal stem cell (UC-MSC) culture waste at harvest. Methods: We cultured UC- MSCs in complete medium, and collected the medium waste at harvests.  We noted the time of harvests, and measured the concentrations of EGF, VEGF, NGF and Pl GF in the various medium wastes using ELISA method. We grouped GF concentrations according to various culture lengthsat harvest, and calculated themean values and standard deviations of the various GF. We compareddescriptively the GF concentrations at various culture lengths at harvests to conclude which condition yielded the overall highest GF concentration. Results: EGF, VEGF and PlGF concentrations were highest at harvest day-3, whileNGF concentration was the highest at harvest-day-5, respectively. Therefore, overall highest concentration of most GF was at harvest day 3.Conclusion:UC-MSC culture waste at harvest day-3 containedEGF, VEGF, NGF and PlGF, which might be used in regenerative medicine.

Abstract

The present study aims to explore different physical characteristics towards a successful performance of archery and to predict the most vital attributes that contribute to the achievement of high archery scores. 32 archers drawn from different archery programmes participated in the study. Standard physical characteristics tests were conducted, and archers’ shooting scores of one end were recorded. Multivariate techniques of principal component analysis (PCA), hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis (HACA) and discriminant analysis (DA) were used to achieve the aims of the study. The PCA after varimax rotation indicates two variables containing 12 and 2 varifacators (VF). The First VF revealing high positive loadings from weight (0.94), calf circumference (cc) (0.89), abdomen cc (0.97), hip cc (0.97), thigh cc (0.95), triceps thickness (0.76), biceps thickness (0.75), subscapular thickness (0.83), suprailiac thickness (0.85), abdominal thickness (0.85), front thigh thickness (0.76) and medial calf thickness (0.80) revealing that endomorphic body positively affect the performance of the sport. The second VF discloses high negative loadings from height (-0.88) and arm length (-0.90) describing that body height, and arm length negatively affects the performance of the sport. HACA classified the archers into three classes based on the PCA outputs namely; High-performance class, Medium-performance class and Low-performance class. Standard, backward and forward stepwise DA discriminate the classes from the 14 predicted variables with accuracies of 74.19%, 96.77% and 93.55% respectively. The findings from the current study can be helpful in mapping out potential athletes in archery based on their physical characteristics. Keywords: Intelligent prediction, Archery, Physical characteristics, Multivariate techniques.

Abstract

In 1952, Hodgkin-Huxley have developed an electronic circuit describing the biophysical nature of a neuron. Acetylcholine field effect transistor (AchFET)   has been developed in this paper for detection of Acetylcholine (neurotransmitter) and then the AchFET is used in an electronic circuit to reproduce neuronal signals. AchFET is an enzyme field effect transistor (ENFET) fabricated by immobilizing acetylcholine in the gate terminal for proper detection of Acetylcholine. The neuron signals obtained from the circuit using AchFET is named as NEUROAchFET (Neuro Acetylcholine field effect transistor). In the next step, estimation of parameters is done using Firefly Algorithm for signals obtained from the NEURO AchFET. There are various parameters related to neuron signals described in this paper and estimation are done for NEUROAchFET circuit to validate the circuit. Firefly algorithm is used since it is an advanced algorithm and proved to be better than other metaheuristic algorithms. Keywords: Neuron, Acetlycholine, Hodgkin-Huxley, NeuroAchFET, Firefly Algorithm.

Abstract

Objective: UV-Spectroscopic method was developed and validated for quantitative determination of metoprolol tartrate. Method: The absorption maxima of metoprolol tartrate were found to be 223nm by using methanol as solvent. Results: The linearity range for metoprolol tartrate was 7-22μg/ml with correlation coefficient (r2) value 0.9982. The method was said to be accurate with 100% recovery and precise, robust as the %RSD was below 2. Metolar-50 marketed formulation was considered as test and assay was carried out. Assay was found to be 98.73%. Conclusion: So, a novel, simple and sensitive method was developed for assay of metoprolol tartrate and validated according to ICH Q2R1 guidelines. Keywords: Spectroscopic, Metoprolol tartrate, Absorption maxima, Assay.

Abstract

In breast cancer the breast lesions are differentiated into two classes: Benign and Malignant. In this paper Computer- Aided Detection (CAD) system is designed for detecting lumps which may indicate presence of breast cancer. This paper presents the  classification of breast ultrasound images using Statistical and Transform domain feature extraction techniques were data is partitioned by hold-out method and classified using Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier. The aim of this paper is to achieve higher accuracy in classification of the lesions. SVM trains a model that assigns unseen new objects into a specific category. The best obtained result out of all the features used is calculated using Fourier Power Spectrum (FPS) with 91.5 % overall accuracy and 81.2 % and 92.8 % individual class accuracies for benign and malignant class respectively .

Abstract

Hypertension or elevated blood pressure is a common chronic disease. It is associated with severe symptoms like aneurysms, chronic kidney disease, amnesia, improper speech, blindness, peripheral artery disease, brain stroke, heart attack etc. Pathophysiology for hypertension involves the role of autonomous nervous system, cardiac output and renin-angiotensin aldosterone system. This review article mainly deals with the application of nanotechnology and nanoparticulate drug delivery systems in the formulation of various antihypertensive drugs for the treatment of hypertension. Applications of various nanoparticulate drug delivery systems like solid lipid nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, nanosuspensions and self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems for antihypertensive drugs have been reviewed and discussed in this article which indicate that the bioavailability of various poorly soluble and permeable antihypertensive drugs can be improved using these nano carriers.
