Abstract

This journal discusses the "Reconstruction of Siri Culture" of Bugis viewed from Islamic Education". The purpose of this paper is to know the concept of Siri 'Bugis, the relevance of Siri' Bugis culture with Islamic education, and the internalization of educational values of Islamic education into the Siri 'Bugis-Makassar culture. Siri 'Culture Bugis is a shame (psychological condition) that decomposes into human dignity that becomes the philosophy of Bugis’ life manifested in pangngadereng (adat) as well as social life, and religious. As a philosophy of life, Siri 'became the core value of Bugis culture until now and a dynamic shift of Siri'. Islamic Education with Siri culture of 'Bugis have mutually supportive relevance (symbiosis mutualism). Islamic education is the process of cultivating character of human beings who are morally, knowledgeable, creative, innovative, guiding people to the truth as the basis of life in the world and in the hereafter. While Siri Culture 'can serve as a spirit of learners in the educational process. The value of Islamic education summarized in the value of Godhead (Divinity), Humanity, and Nature has similarity to the value of Siri 'which is summed up in the elements of Siri': Pajjama, Lempu ', Getteng, and Sipakatau. Nevertheless, the value of Siri does not summarize the overall value of Islamic education. Internalization of Islamic educational values into the Siri 'Bugis culture is a necessity as a basic value in implementing the Siri culture. Internalization can be done by transformation (education value) of Islamic education, through the educational process with the support of all elements of society. Operationally, internalization must be supported by elements of education such as curriculum, learning and adequate teacher resources.

Abstract

Implementation of education in religious character building becomes the main problem in learning in the school environment today. The impelementative offer through the development of educational psychology approach becomes an integral part that must be socialized. This writing uses a qualitative descriptive type through educational psychologyapproach that is supported with the relevant educational approach. The basic values of religion to build the character of learners in SMK Negeri 2 Parepare is applied with the pattern of formation of participatory policy model for educational purpose, put forward the function of policy authority persuasively to the school stakeholder in performing character building pattern based on the rule of character education program. The strategy applied is a character-based, culture-based and community-based character education model. The pattern of character building of learners through educational psychology approach maximizes the pattern of tazkiyah based religious education development on the learner's soul, runs a coaching pattern appropriate to the situation and condition of the school, educators and learners. Character building of learners through educational psychology approach implemented or developed with the increase of worship; Giving advice, noble touch, supervision and control activities, and guidance targib and tarhib.

Abstract

This paper explores the notions and issues of Attitude and Approach of EFL teachers in Indonesian Educational Context. The paper was based on some of the findings of a fieldwork conducted in 2014, in which 3 English teachers were interviewed and observed. The aim of the study was to investigate the attitudes of the successful EFL teachers show to the language they are teaching and the teaching styles and methods of the successful EFL teachers consciously develops and employs. Findings from interview data suggest that English teacher should have positive attitudes toward English that they are teaching and also teachers should apply the four language skills and some language elements in form of integrated skills because the skills and the elements connect each other.

Abstract

This study discusses the relationship between competence and teacher responses to the implementation of Curriculum 2013 in the Elementary School in Parepare. This type of research is descriptive qualitative data collection methods such as structured interviews, questionnaires, and documentation study. Once the data is collected, verified and tested its validity. The results showed that elementary school teachers in Parepare have proven competent at teaching certificate, however the degree of their competen faced with technical problems in the implementation phase as access to information. They responded positively to the implementation of Curriculum 2013, with the record prior to the enforcement of government must be prepared for all possibilities including the setting up of facilities and pre-supporting means.

Abstract

The concept of the Qada and Qadar is still the hot topic of discussion. For Muslims, destiny is a part of faith. Therefore, an understanding of the fate is very important for a Muslim. For an understanding of this destiny will determine the direction and attitude of a Muslim against a variety of things that happened during his life. Therefore, many scholars discuss the concept of destiny in their books. There are three people who understand it differently. The first group; they believe that man is not free at all of destiny because what they do has been determined by God. The second group; they believe that humans are very independent that they do not have any divine intervention at all. The last thought believe that anything done is within the rules of Allah. There is the intervention of God, but humans have a choice to do something.

Abstract

This research focused in analyzing students’ ability in developing paragraph by accounting the number of sentence quality or comprehensibility of paragraph by analyzing sentence unity and coherence. This research is quantitative-qualitative research. The subject of the research was the fifth semester students of English Education Study Program. Instrument of data collection is test. Quantitative data was analyzed by using frequency formulation and qualitative data about the unity and the coherence of sentences was analyzed by using coding. Thus, the finding shows that the most students are able to write two to three sentences in a paragraph. Paragraphs consist of one sentence and two sentences were indicated as poor paragraph. Paragraph consists of four, five, six and seven sentences were indicated as fairly good paragraph; and paragraph consists of three and eight sentences were indicated as good paragraph.

Abstract

Evaluation must be implemented systematically and continuously in order to describe the ability of the students. The main mistakes that often occur among teachers is that evaluation is carried out at certain moments, such as at the end of the unit, middle, and end of a teaching program. As a result of that is the lack of information about the students, causing many teachers prediction is biased in determining their position in class activities. Evaluation should not only be concidered as a collection of techniques but also rather a process that is based on principles. What should be assessed always gives priority in the process of evaluation. The interesting problem that is discussed in this paper is about the basics and the scope of educational evaluation.

Abstract

This research discuss the effectiveness of using e-learning to improve teaching and learning process on planning of the Arabic teaching design subject of seventh semester at Arabic Program STAIN Parepare. This research is classroom action research (CAR) based on revised Lewin Model by Elliot. The result of this research showed that using e-learning is effective to improve the teaching and learning process, namely the learning achievement is 77.9 more than the minimal criteria 75 and the students attitude is 87.5 as positive attitude and their participation is 61.3%. This data is better than the decided criteria.

Abstract

The use of nonverbal codes in communication in classroom causes the effectiveness of teaching and learning interaction in classroom, especially in English classroom interaction in STAIN Parepare. This research can give description and information to improve teachers’ behaviors’ in teaching and learning interaction in classroom. It also can be a part of culture in teaching and learning environment in campus. This research is conducted in English education study program. The design of the research is ethnography study. The research takes two English teachers as data resources. It used observation in collecting data. In analyzing data, the researchers used Constant Comparative Methods. The research findings show the teachers nonverbal codes in English classroom interaction include: (1) gesture such as gesture while talking to the classroom moves around the classroom while teaching, and has a relaxed body position while talking to the class.; (2) eye movement such as looks at the class while talking; and (3) smiles at the class while talking.

Abstract

This study entitled "Improvement of Student Makes Proposal Through Direct Learning Model (Studies in Islamic Religious Education Program STAIN Pare Pare).". This study aims to determine the increase in the ability of students to make a proposal after learning directly in the course of research methods in education 2 STAIN Parepare. This research method is a method of classroom action research conducted to improve the ability of students to make a research proposal through direct learning model. The process of implementation of the measures implemented in stages until the research is successful. The procedure initiated actions of (1) the action plan, (2) implementation of the action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Results of the research study showed that increased significantly on the ability of students to make a research proposal through direct learning model with the average rate of success of 91, 57%. There is an increased ability of the students carry out the task of making a research proposal on the parts of the research proposal. Part Chapter I Introduction, 90.36% first cycle, the second cycle increased 91.57, and third cycle maximum 91 attempts, 57%. The ability of the students carry out the task of making a research proposal in Chapter II Review of Theory / Reader, the first cycle of 50, 6%, the second cycle has increased significantly 90, 36%, and the third cycle is also increased to 91, 57%. The ability of the students carry out the task of making a research proposal in Chapter III Methods, the first cycle of 18, 07%, the second cycle, a significant increase 83, 13%, and third cycles be better 91, 57%.
