Abstract

In today's digital era, cases of cyberbullying are living in society, especially on social media. Not infrequently also occurs among the public and famous artists. Cyberbullying has various impacts on its victims. This study discusses the behavior of cyberbullying in the development of a developmental digital world using semiotics approaches with psychoanalysis theory of Carl Jung. This study aims to, (a) find out the types of cyberbullying in Indonesia female artist's Instagram account, (b) describe the cyberbullying which existed in the post of Indonesian female artist's instagram account, (c) explain why the particular type of cyberbullying became dominant in Indonesian female artist's instagram account. This study is a qualitative approach. The data source used in this study is taken from Instagram especially about the life content of artist "Prilly Latuconsina" who has been the victims of cyberbullying. The results show that there are various forms of cyberbullying in her instagram account. There are 7 harassment category, 8 denigration category, and 7 flaming category. The netizens often used harsh and impolite words in the comments.

Abstract

This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. It was concerned with the description of data in the form of utterances by the main character in The Last of us part 2 Video Game (2020). In conducting this research, the researcher (1) found out the types of language function in The Last of us part 2 Video Games. (2) described the realization types of language function in The Last of us part 2 Video Games. In the application of the language function, the last of us part 2 video games utterances used Jakobson™s theory. The result showed first, that most dominant type of language function in Jakobson™s theory is Expressive Function with (37%). The percentage directive function is (32%). The percentage Metalinguistic function is (20%). The lowest percentage in language function that Referential function is (11%). Second, The realization of language function described, such as : Expressive Function, that is action from another character make a feeling to main character, for example : (Jesus! You almost gave me heart attack, Fuck!, Gotcha!!, Just banged up!), Directive Function, is about attempt to get someone to do something. For example: (You better run little shit1, Run Dina!, No!, okay!), Referential function, is the communication of information, for example (oh, there™s the ski lodge, that™s the one on Tommy and Joel™s route), Metalinguistic function explain about the answer is code itself, for example: (just another evacuated neighborhood).

Abstract

This research is a study that analyzes the personality traits of three main characters™ (simba, mufasa and scar) in the movie The Lion King . This study aims to determine the character and characterization of the main character in the lion king movie. This research is included in the literature study. The researcher focuses on dialogue and subtitle in the movie, and after that analyzes the characters and characterizations based on the theory of Paul Costa and Robert McCrae. There are five personality traits, namely extraversion, neuroticism, conscientiousness, openness to experience, and agreeableness. In this study, researchers found three of the Big Five Personality traits on the characters, Simba™s personality type are Extraversion And Neuroticism, Mufasa™s personality type are agreeableness and Neuroticism, and Scar™s personality type is Neuroticism .This study used a qualitative description method. The writer employs herself to collect the data by reading the subtitle, watching the film and marking them. From the analysis of the personality of the three main characters™ in the lion king movie, it can be concluded that the personality traits from The Big Five personalities are used in the film. From the theory used, the researcher found that the characteristics of Simba™s Extraversion are positive emotional, active and assertive And Neuroticism of simba are anxiety, self-consciousness, hostility and depression, Mufasas™ agreeableness are trusting, straightforward, altruistic and modest, Neuroticism of mufasa are anxiety and hostility, and Scar Neuroticism are vulnerability, impulsive, self-consciousness, hostility and depression.

Abstract

This research dealt with classroom interaction between teacher and students of music in English classroom. This research was conducted to determine the most dominant of interaction in the classroom and the occurrences of classroom interaction between teacher and students of music in English classroom through face-to-face learning system at SMKN 11 Medan. This research used qualitative research. The data were verbal interaction in the form of spoken texts of teacher and students of music during teaching and learning English and were then analyzed by applying the Flanders interaction analysis categories system (FIACS) as interaction model proposed by Flanders (1970). They were collected through observation and audio recording for two class meetings. The results showed that the verbal interaction was most dominantly by teacher talk (64%). In the part of teacher talk, the ratio of indirect teacher talk had the highest percentage (39%) than the ratio of direct teacher talk (29%). Particularly on the category 4 asking question of indirect teacher talk. It was indicated that teacher intentionally asked questions related to the topic material to the students. Meanwhile, the result of the interactions in English classroom was mostly happened by content cross (35%) which consists of category 4 asking questions and 5 lecturing. It showed that teacher mostly provided the students with the questions on the sidelines of lectures during learning process.

Abstract

This study focuses on the diction analysis found in Adimulia Hotel™s digital brochure. The aim of this study was to identify the main diction style used in digital brochure and to ascertain the figurative meaning associated with each word used within. The diction used in this study is based on Keraf  Theory (2009). Digital brochures are tools for valid data analysis. This study describes the predominant diction style and the definition of each word in the Adimulia Hotel™s digital brochure. The basis for the dominant usage of a term is its meaning, which sets it apart from other wods. The diction that used in digital brochure also influences reader™s interest in what the Adimulia hotel is promoting.
