The sample farmers were divided into two categories according to the planted area. The first category is those who have a planting area of 2 hectares and below, while the second category is those who have a planting area of more than 2 hectares. The results showed that the average income per farmer in the first category, which has a planting area of 2 hectares and below, is Rp. 356,450, or Rp. 254,607/ha, while for the second category, namely farming with a planting area of more than 2 hectares, the average income per farmer is Rp. 17,699,835, with an average income per hectare of Rp. 3,371,398. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the density and net calorific value and analyze the traditional market waste leachate. The sampling locations were in traditional markets in 5 districts/cities, namely Manado City, Bitung City, North Minahasa Regency, Minahasa Regency, and Tomohon City. This research was conducted in May – August 2021. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive survey research method and tabulated analysis equipped with a histogram graph. Visiting and observing at the research site then combining it with primary and secondary data. Primary data in the form of waste samples to be observed and secondary data in the form of information or supporting documents from related parties. The parameters observed were the density of traditional market waste, calculating the Net Calorific Value of each waste sample, and analysis of pH, TDS, TSS, EC in traditional market waste leachate. The conclusion of this study is that organic waste shows the highest density value in 5 regencies/cities and the average net calorific value of 5 regencies/cities ranges from 7000 kcal/kg – 8000 kcal/kg and the presence of leachate in traditional market waste shows high TDS value. Likewise, the EC value indicates the presence of cation ions in the leachate. The presence of leachate is intended not as a pollutant component but as an indicator that can provide nutrients for plant growth.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction of varieties and drought stress on the growth and yield of two varieties of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merill). This research was carried out using polybags in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University with the experimental design used in this study was environmental design and treatment design was Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Research data from all observational variables were analyzed by analysis of variance ANOVA and if there was a difference between treatments, it was continued with the 5% BNT test. The results of this study indicate that the character of soybean harvesting age is influenced by the interaction of varietal factors and drought stress factors. Drought stress factors affect the character of plant height, number of main branch books, number of pods planted, and number of seeds planted. Varieties and drought stress factors did not affect the observed characteristics of the first flowering age, the number of root nodules, the number of empty pods, and the weight of 100 seeds per plant.

Abstract

This study aims to identify socio-economic problems and agronomic potential on the island of Morotai in relation to the development of Bido Coconut and develop strategies for developing Bido Coconut as an endemic plant. This research was conducted using qualitative and quantitative methods, the research time was from February to April 2021. The data collection methods were interviews, questionnaires and observation. Data analysis used correlation analysis and SWOT analysis. The stages of analysis, correlation analysis are r_xy = Correlation between variables x and y, X = (X_(i-X )) and Y = (Y_(i-Y )). SWOT analysis, namely problem identification, determination of IFAS and EFAS, grand strategy analysis. The results of this study indicate a low to high correlation value based on the results of the correlation analysis of agronomic traits. The highest correlation was between the number of bunches and the number of fruit, which was 0.588. Where the higher the number of bunches followed by the number of fruits. The correlation of these two traits is very decisive in the selection of plant parents. Furthermore, the correlation between the number of leaflets and stem diameter is negative and the height is -0.665 meaning that the greater the diameter of the stem, the reduction is followed by the reduction of leaflets or vice versa. Correlation of fruit weight and number of leaf midribs - 0.485. Correlation results show that agronomic traits have a relationship with each other, from high to low values. The results of the SWOT analysis from the SWOT analysis weight matrix, the value of x is 1.05 (total total score between strengths and weaknesses) and y value is 1.53 (total number of scores between opportunities and threats). The position of the strategy in developing Bido Coconut as a leading commodity for the Morotai Island Regency, the strategy for developing Bido Coconut as a leading commodity in the Morotai Island Regency is an aggressive strategy for quadrant 1 which is a very profitable situation. The area has opportunities and strengths so that it can take advantage of existing opportunities. The strategy that must be applied in this condition is the need to support a very aggressive growth pattern (growth oriented strategy).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perceptions and interests of youth towards occupation as farmers in Wuwuk Village, Tareran District, South Minahasa Regency. The sampling method in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The data used are primary data obtained through direct surveys in the field through interviews using prepared questionnaires and documentation and secondary data obtained from literature studies and agencies related to the data needed in this study. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis by describing the data that has been collected. The results of this study indicate that the youth of Wuwuk Village have a good perception towards occupation as farmers, although the youths are aware that agricultural businesses have a risk of business failure. A fairly good perception of youth towards occupation as farmers, makes the youth of Wuwuk Village still interested in working as farmers. The youth of Wuwuk Village still consider that work as a farmer provides sufficient income and provides benefits because the farmer family is able to meet the needs of their families and can even send their children to college.
