Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the professional abilities of students in the field of education in the sociology department for the 2021/2022 academic year. The method used in this research is qualitative with case study research type. The informant selection technique is purposive sampling with a total of 10 informants. The theory used in this research is the Structural Functional theory by Talcott Parsons. This study uses data analysis from the Miles and Huberman model. Based on the results of this study, students of the Department of Sociology have been able to carry out basic teaching skills in professional competence as a teacher as follows: (1) Ability to understand educational foundations, (2) Understanding in the field of educational psychology, (3) Have been able to implement the learning process from beginning to end, (4) the ability to develop learning programs, (5) the ability to carry out learning evaluations, (6) the ability to carry out variations in learning, (7) the ability to design and utilize various media and learning resources, (8 ) The ability to master the subject matter in accordance with the field of study being taught, (9) The ability to manage the class.

Abstract

The behavior of school guidance counselors in providing their services is interesting to be studied from angles of sociological disciplines. An individual's behavior or actions have meaning for themselves and others. This study aimed to examine the actions of school guidance counselors in counseling activities based on the perspective of the social action concept. The research was library research. Precisely, it was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The SLR procedure follows the steps proposed by Francis and Baldesari. The process was conducted by collecting Guidance and Counseling articles from journals, proceedings, etc. The articles were limited based on the Guidance and Counseling program implementation criteria and suitability for the study focus. The study results revealed four types of actions that the school guidance counselors did in the counseling activities based on the perspective of the social action concept. First, based on the problem and cooperating factors, there was instrumental rational action. Second, based on belief or religious factors, there was value-oriented action. Third, based on empathy and comfort factors, there was affective action. Fourth, based on habit factors, there was traditional action.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the Government's policy of issuing a Joint Decree of 4 Ministers, namely the Minister of Education and Culture, the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Health, and the Minister of Home Affairs Number 03/KB/202l, Number 384 of 2021 regarding Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning in the 2019 Coronavirus Disease Pandemic. With the issuance of this policy, education has changed from online learning to face-to-face learning. SMA Negeri 1 GugAdaptation,uak District is one of the schools that has implemented face-to-face learning in the era of adapting new habits. With the change in education, students must adapt from online learning to face-to-face learning in the era of adapting new habits. This study aims to analyze according to the reality that occurs in the field regarding the adaptation of students from online learning to face-to-face learning in the era of adaptation of new habits. This study was analyzed using Talcott Parson's Structural Functional theory. This theory explains that in order for a group to survive, 4 things are needed, namely Adaptation (adaptation), Goal Attainment (achievement of goals), Integration (integration) and Latency (maintenance of patterns). This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study type. In determining the research informants, this study used a purposive sampling technique with 10 informants consisting of 1 principal, 1 subject teacher and 8 students of class XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Guguak District. Data collection techniques using participant observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. The validity of the data is done by data triangulation. For the data analysis technique, the researcher uses the data analysis model according to Miles and Huberman which consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusions or verification. The results showed that the adaptation of students from online learning to face-to-face learning there were 3 adaptations, namely, 1) adaptation of rules, such as rules for bringing supplies to school and rules for dressing, 2) adaptation in the use of technology, namely cell phones, 3) adaptation in social interaction with other students.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the high interest of students in choosing schools at MAN 1 Padang Panjang, especially students from outside the Padang Panjang area. This is evidenced by the number of students from outside the Padang Panjang area which is more than students from the Padang Panjang area itself. In the 2021/2022 academic year, out of a total of 663 students, 547 of them are students from outside the Padang Panjang area. This study aims to analyze the motives of students choosing to study at MAN 1 Padang Panjang. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. This Study was analyzed using the phenomenological theory of Alfred Schutz. The informant selection technique used purposive sampling with a total of 15 informants. Data collection techniques are observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are several motives that underlie and cause students to choose to study at MAN 1 Padang Panjang which is divided into motives that cause and motives that encourage them to achieve goals. Because the motifs consist of family motifs, interesting and prominent extracurriculars and the existence of a pesantren/Islamic boarding school system. within the framework of the motive consisting of a desire to be independent, deepen religious knowledge and prepare to continue education to a higher level.

Abstract

The pandemic began to occur in early 2020. Due to the pandemic, education was conducted online. This raises several problems ranging from the difficulty of schools in adapting to even causing students to experience difficulties in learning and resulting in learning loss which makes the quality of school graduates experience a decline in quality. Therefore, this study looks at the strategy of SMA Negeri 1 Padang in maintaining the quality of graduates during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was analyzed using a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The informant selection technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique with a total of 7 informants consisting of school officials such as school principals, curriculum representatives, student representatives, counseling teachers, teaching teachers, and several students. Data collection techniques were carried out by direct observation to the research location, namely SMAN 1 Padang, interviewing informants in the field by asking several questions about the problems the authors faced and doing documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data presentation, data verification from Miles and Huberman. The validity of the data is done by data triangulation. The theory used in this research is the structural-functional theory from Talkott Parsons with the A.G.I.L (Adaptation, Goal, Integrity, and Latency) scheme. This theory views society as a unified system that functions with each other. If one system in society does not function properly, then the other system will experience problems. The results of this study are SMA Negeri 1 Padang is able to maintain the quality of graduates during online learning by using several strategies in implementing the online learning process so that learning can run with school quality standards so that school graduates are able to graduate to the most favorite PTN in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest in learning of students in sociology at SMA N 6 Padang. The purpose of this study is to analyze the increase in students' interest in learning sociology in class X IPS 3 SMA N 6 Padang through the application of the make a match type of cooperative learning model. The method used in conducting this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the aim of improving problems in the classroom. This study uses a design from Kemmis and McTaggart, namely the determination of the focus of the problem, action planning, observation/observation and data collection, and reflection. The sample in this study was 35 students of class X IPS 3 at SMA N 6 Padang. The data from this study were collected from observation sheets, questionnaires and interviews which were analyzed using quantitative analysis techniques taken from observation data and questionnaires while qualitative analysis techniques were from interview data. The theory used to analyze this research is the meaningful theory proposed by David Ausubel. During the second cycle, there were 4 meetings with social research material. The results showed that the percentage of observation of students' interest in learning in the first cycle was 40.17% while in the second cycle it was 87.13%. The results of the interest in learning questionnaire before taking the student's interest in learning were 30.09%, after the action the results of the interest in learning questionnaire were 91.57%. After the action, the results of the interview showed that after the learning was carried out by applying the make a match type of learning model students' interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of forming student discipline attitudes through integrating learning and school culture at SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru District. In the process of forming student discipline attitudes, obstacles were encountered in its implementation. With these obstacles there are also solutions to these obstacles in the formation of attitudes in schools. This study uses a qualitative research approach, with the type of case study research, data collection by observation. in-depth interviews with 22 informants, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman technique with the steps of Data Reduction, Data Display, and Withdrawal/Verification of Conclusions. The research location is in SMA Negeri 1, Akabiluru District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The results of this study show that the strategy in forming student discipline attitudes consists of integrating in learning and school culture. The strategy of forming student discipline attitudes through integration in learning at SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru District is carried out in 2 ways, namely the formation of discipline attitudes through thematic instructional methods and the formation of disciplined attitudes through non-thematic instructional methods. Through thematic instructional with habituation of discipline in the classroom, it is carried out by conducting an initial diagnostic test to identify the student's character and the appropriate learning design. The strategy carried out by SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru District through school culture is the habituation of new habits to school after the pandemic, providing exemplary behavior, collaborating with parents and the community, strengthening student discipline with extracurricular activities, habituation in participating in flag ceremonies and religious and branding activities. child friendly school.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students in class X Social Sciences 3 SMA UNP Laboratory Development. Based on this, an innovative and creative learning model is needed so as to encourage students to think critically by using the Probing prompting learning model. The purpose of this study was to analysis the effect of the Probing prompting model on students' critical thinking skills. This research is a classroom action research carried out in two cycles. The data collection technique of this research used observation, tests and documentation. The theory that is suitable for this research is Ausubel's cognitive theory. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers at the UNP Laboratory Development High School, the percentage results in the first cycle of 41.32% increased in the second cycle of 70.00% from the results of the second cycle percentage in this study showed an increase in students' critical thinking. Therefore, this use can answer the question of this research in improving the critical thinking of class students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Implementation of Field Practices after the Covid-19 Pandemic Study of Interaction between Civil Service Teachers and Students at SMAN 1 Nan Sabaris Padang Pariaman in the implementation of PLK, that isi where the student learning process takes place to become a teacher. Therefore, civil servant teacher and students must establish a good relationship. However, in the implementation of PLK, civil servant teachers do not carry out their roles as stated in the PLK manual. So from this problem there is a discrepancy in the implementation of PLK. So that the problem leads to a pattern of dissociative social interaction between tutors and student. This research was analyzed using Gerge Simmel theory of Subordinate and Superordinate. The approach used is a case study qualitative approach. This research uses a purposive sampling technique 18 informants consisting of 10 teachers and 8 students. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and document studi. For this research data, the authours used triangulation data, the data werw analyzed using the Mathew B Milles and A Michael Huberman models, incliding the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Hand research this shows that the reason for the establishment of social dissociative interactions between the civil teachers and student is that the civil sevant teachers has the authority to deal with students, students are less socialized at shool, tutors are constrained in the use of technology, tutors do not guide students based on their roles, and assignments by civil servant teachers are outside the student responsibility.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking ability of students in learning in accordance with the indicators of critical thinking skills assessment in learning. Related to the low critical thinking ability of students in learning, the importance of the role of a teacher to prepare students' critical thinking skills in learning. The teacher is the most important component in learning activities that can interact directly with students. Teachers have an important role to form quality students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of sociology teachers in preparing students' critical thinking skills in the sociology learning process at SMA N 2 Sipora. This study uses a qualitative approach. The informant selection technique is purposive sampling, which is based on the researcher's criteria. The data was collected by interviewing 3 sociology teachers at SMA N 2 Sipora, 3 students in class X IPS 1 and the Curriculum Representative of SMA N 2 Sipora, then observing the sociology learning activities and the latest data was documentation in the form of photos, lesson plans documents and so on. In this study using data analysis from Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The theory used in the research on the role of the teacher in preparing students' critical thinking skills in the sociology learning process at SMA N 2 Sipora is constructivism theory. The results of this study are the first role of the sociology teacher as class manager, in the form of creating an atmosphere of fun learning activities, attracting students' attention and managing learning. Second, the role of sociology teachers as facilitators, designing learning media and innovative learning models. Third, the role of the sociology teacher as a motivator, providing direction, advice, and approaching. Fourth, the teacher's role as a demonstrator, the existence of performances and mastery of the material in advance or self-preparation.
