Abstract

High achievement especially in Biology is usually enhanced by proper Biology laboratory practical. However, it is assumed that most Biology teachers resort strictly to the use of theoretical method in teaching. This has constantly led to poor performance of students in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination across Nigeria. Therefore, this study investigated the statistical analysis on influence of Biology laboratory practical on students’ academic performance of Senior Secondary Students in Ilorin East, Kwara State, Nigeria. The study was a descriptive survey type. One hundred and twenty (120) students were sampled for the study using proportionate and simple random sampling technique in Ilorin East L.G.A, Kwara State, Nigeria. A researched designed questionnaire was used to accumulate information from respondents. Three research questions and two research hypotheses formulated were tested using percentage, mean, frequency count and independent t. test and ANOVA at 0.05alpha level of significant. The result of findings revealed that Biology laboratory practical has a great influence on senior secondary school students' academic performance and also on the level of understanding and retention capabilities of students but there was no significant influence of Biology laboratory practical on students’ academic performance based on gender but not was significant based on class size

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the factors that impact teacher performance, particularly the role of work motivation, job satisfaction, administrative support, and student outcomes. A mixed-methods approach was utilized, including a survey and semi-structured interviews. The survey was distributed to 100 teachers, while the interviews were conducted with 10 teachers. The data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative findings revealed that work motivation, job satisfaction, and administrative support significantly predicted teacher performance, while student outcomes had a non-significant relationship with teacher performance. In contrast, the qualitative findings showed that work motivation, job satisfaction, administrative support, student outcomes, work-life balance, school culture, and professional development opportunities all play a critical role in teacher performance. The study suggests that both intrinsic and extrinsic factors impact teacher performance. Teachers need to be motivated and satisfied with their work, feel supported by their administrators, and have opportunities for professional development

Abstract

The development of built-up land over the last 15 years in Ambon City has affected changes in land cover in the Wae Batugantung watershed. This is due to increasing population growth, and the increasing need for residential land. Changes in land cover in the Wae Batu Gantung watershed have an impact on land degradation, water pollution, flooding, and erosion, which will increase in the future. This study aims to analyze land cover changes in the Wae Batu Gantung watershed in 2012, 2017, 2022, and predict land cover in 2027, and 2031. The Cellular Automata Markov Chain method was used in this study to predict the spatial dynamics of land cover change. The results of the study show that from 2012, 2017, 2022, and predictions for 2027, and 2031 residential land, and open land in the Wae Batutangan watershed continue to expand, in contrast to non-agricultural land cover, and agricultural land which is decreasing

Abstract

Based on data on landslide disaster events in 2022, it shows that the Wae Batu Gajah watershed is a land-slide-prone area in Ambon City. The development of increasing population settlements in this area will cer-tainly increase the risk of landslides that are getting higher and higher. Based on this, it is necessary to con-duct spatial analysis of landslide-prone areas in the Wae Batu Gajah watershed. This study aims to analyze the potential for landslides and their exposure to settlements in the Wae Batu Gajah watershed, Ambon City using the Storie Index method. The results showed that the potential for landslides in the Wae Batu Gajah watershed is a hazard class, namely not potential, low, medium, high. The high landslide potential class dom-inates the Wae Batu Gajah watershed, covering an area of 280.19 ha or 43.67% spread across the middle and upper reaches of the watershed. An area of 98.05 ha or 47.82% of the area of residential land located in land-slide-prone areas with low potential located in the lower reaches of rivers with marbles of 0-2% and 2-8% which are relatively sloping and flat. The results of the study are expected to help the Ambon City govern-ment in efforts to mitigate landslide disasters in the future and in spatial planning efforts based on disaster mitigation

Abstract

This study examines the concern for differences in economic conditions in maintaining the social integration of multi-ethnic farmers. Data collection was carried out by interviewing informants. The selection of informants is carried out using the snowball method, that is, finding key informants who have knowledge of the differences in social conditions, the process of social integration of farmers, then key informants indicate other informants. The results showed that differences in economic conditions were based on wealth/area of rice field ownership, ownership status, labor, production and income, marketing, savings and investment, consumption patterns, and capital. This leads to inequalities and knowledge gaps, differences in the ability to cope with the problems of the production process.  The solution of caring for each other can maintain the social integration of multi-ethnic farmers.  Social integration of society is characterized by mutual care, order, interdependence, uniformity of thinking, the importance of social order.  Strategies of maintaining social integration through concern for different economic conditions, training individuals to accept each other, adjust habits, open up, respect each other and recognize each other.  The contribution of the results of this study is beneficial for multi-ethnic communities with different socioeconomic conditions in living a sustainable life together

This study aims to analyze customer satisfaction MSEs in the context of a global study on Indonesian Batik Shoraya. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach and data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with 10 Shoraya Batik customers, 5 domestic and 5 international. The results showed that customer satisfaction with Shoaraya Batik Indonesia products was influenced by service quality, product quality, price, emotional factors, cost and convenience. Customers expect fast and responsive service, quality and reliable products, affordable prices, and positive emotional experiences with the Shoaraya Batik Indonesia brand. Cost and ease of transaction are also important factors influencing customer satisfaction. In a global context, Shoaraya Batik Indonesia's customers have high expectations for products that can compete with international brands. Customers expect Shoraya Batik Indonesia to maintain consistent product and service quality, as well as develop innovative products that are in line with global trends. Even though Shoaraya Batik Indonesia already has a loyal customer base in Indonesia, the challenge it faces in entering the global market is competition from established international brands. Abstract

High and even coverage of Covid-19 vaccination is the key to success. If the vaccination coverage is high and evenly distributed, herd immunity can be formed, and cross-protection can be created. Cross-protection is a condition in which a person still gets the benefits of protection against the risk of contracting a disease even though he is not vaccinated because he is in a community where the majority have already been vaccinated. As a result, it will reduce the virus's spread, break the transmission chain, and ultimately stop this disease

Abstract

Febrile seizures can be caused by various factors, genetic factors or a family history of seizures, an immature brain, and infection, so the cause of febrile seizures is called multifactorial. (Veisani Y. 2013). One of the factors, namely genetic factors, has a major influence on the incidence of febrile seizures. Based on previous studies, one-third of all febrile seizure patients have a history of seizures in their families. ObjectiveThis study aims to determine the relationship between genetic factors and the incidence of febrile seizures in children at Bhayangkara Setukpa Hospital, Sukabumi Police Education and Training Center, in 2022

Abstract

Individuals who have prolonged feelings of worthlessness, insignificance, and low self-esteem due to negative evaluations of themselves and their abilities are a picture of someone who has low self-esteem (Pardede & Laia, 2020). If the problem of low self-esteem is not dealt with immediately, the client will be insecure and have negative thoughts of himself and others. As a result, the client will tend to be alone and isolate himself from the environment and activities that decrease low self-esteem and can be at risk of social isolation: withdrawing self. Withdrawal is a severe personality disorder in that maladaptive behavior interferes with one's functioning in social relationships. This needs serious attention and handling. This study aimed to determine the effect of cognitive therapy on increasing self-esteem in schizophrenic patients at the Phalamartha Sukabumi Center
