Abstract

Background: Oil palm shell is a waste of oil palm plants that can be used as a source of silica gel because it contains SiO2. This study aims to determine the oil palm shell silica gel can be used as an active ingredient in the manufacture of body scrubs. Method: This study uses active ingredients with various concentrations of 2,5%, 5%, and 10%. The process of making silica gel starts with ashing, washing, making a sodium silicate solution, and adding NaOH. The preparation test includes an organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, dispersibility test, adhesion test, irritation test, dead skin cell removal test, and stability test. Results: From the results of this study, the SiO2 content of palm oil shell silica gel is as much as 43% with XRF testing, and XRD results at an angle of 2ϴ=22,93º. The FTIR results showed the presence of a Si-OH group at a wave number of 3439.08 cm -1, a Si-O-Si group at a wave number of 1020,34 cm -1, and a -OH group at a wave number of 806,25 cm -1. The preparations that have been made meet the physical evaluation of the preparations, namely in the form of semi-solid, white color, and smells of oleum citri. Each homogeneous preparation, pH with a value ranging from 4,7 to 6,5, does not irritate the skin, meets the requirements of the spreadability test and adhesion test, has poor stability because the pH value has increased and decreased, has a good keratin content value, and the stability test of the formula against temperature at pH showed significant results (p>0.05). Conclusion: This research concludes that palm oil shell silica gel can be formulated as an active ingredient in making body scrubs and has the effect of removing dead skin cells on the skin.

Abstract

Abstract Background: The intervention program for preventing and controlling hypertension is a challenge for health workers, one of which is by helping individuals do self-management (Self-Care) to overcome hypertension, this can increase their self-confidence (Self-Efficacy) to live with chronic diseases. Self-management is an individual's ability to carry out self-care activities to maintain life, improve, and maintain individual health and well-being. E-Kalpin is a visual-based education developed to improve patient self-management in comorbid patients. Patients can use E-Kalpin as a medium that helps them supervise and control blood pressure. This study aimed to see the effectiveness of E-Kalpin's self-management as a predictor of hemodynamics in patients with hypertension during the covid pandemic. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest-posttest approach with a control group. The population in this study were all patients with hypertension in the Aur Duri Public Health Center working area with a sample group of 30 respondents. The researcher used the E-Kalpin media as a media instrument which was arranged in the form of a questionnaire to obtain information and data from respondents. Results: This study resulted in a relationship between the use of the E-Kalpin application as a medium to assist them in supervising and controlling their illness. The statistical test results obtained a p-value of 0.018, meaning that at 5% alpha there was a significant difference in the average of the kalpin group and the control group. This means that using E-Kalpin can assist people with hypertension in their self-management thus it can be used as a hemodynamic predictor in daily activities. Conclusion: Health workers can use E-Kalpin as an educational medium that helps people with hypertension to predict the hemodynamics of the body in controlling blood pressure. For further research, it is recommended to examine various supporting factors or other variables that affect the use of E-Kalpin application media to assist patients in controlling blood pressure.

Abstract

The Maternal and Child Health Book (KIA) contains important information needed by mothers and children,The low utilization of the MCH handbook is still constrained by the lack of knowledge about the benefits of the MCH handbook and some mothers also think that the MCH handbook is just an examination notebook..Koto Baru Health Center is one of the health centers in the districtKuantan singingi whose KI coverage reaches 100%. The high coverage of K1 is not in line with the use of MCH books by pregnant women. This research aims to knowing determinants related to the use of Maternal and Child Health (KIA) books by pregnant women in stunting control in the Koto Baru Health Center Work Area, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Types of research quantitative research with analytical research design and using a cross sectional approach. The sample was taken by total sampling technique with a sample of 36 respondents. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate.Research results obtained respondents used the MCH book well (61.1%), highly knowledgeable (63.9%), positive perception (52.8%), received family support (55.6%) and received the role of health workers (72, 2%). The results of the chi square test showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p = 0.002), perception (p = 0.001), family support (p = 0.003) and the role of health workers (p = 0.001)with the use of Maternal and Child Health books. Kepada Health workers to improve services such as provide counseling, promotion and continuous information to pregnant women about the contents of the MCH handbook and its benefits for mothers and children so that pregnant women know the condition of their pregnancy and immediately check with health workers if they experience problems in pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: The agricultural sector is a high-risk occupation, health problems that are often experienced by farmers are MSDs complaints. The results of the initial survey of BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics) found that 80% of farmers suffer from back pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work posture, workload, length of work and body size with complaints of the musculoskeletal system when spraying pesticides on horticultural farmers in Sako Dua village. Metode: This study is a quantitative study using a cross sectional design. The research population was all members of the farmer group as many as 191 farmers and the research sample was 51 farmers who sprayed pesticides. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire and measurement sheets. The research technique used interviews and measurements with REBA, Nhon Hoa sitting scales, Electronic Personal Scale, and Stature Meters. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using chi-square test. Results : 60.8% of respondents experienced high MSDs complaints, 68.6% of respondents experienced high risk work postures, 94.1% of respondents had additional workloads in the heavy category, 72.5% of respondents had long work durations, and 41.2% of respondents had Obese BMI. Bivariate results show that there is a relationship between work posture and MSDs complaints (p-value = 0.000), there is no relationship between additional workload (p-value = 0.315), there is a relationship between length of work (p-value = 0.000), and there is no relationship between BMI (p-value=0.398) with MSDs complaints. Conclusion : MSDs disorders can occur due to several factors such as inappropriate body posture, heavy workload coupled with a spraying equipment load that weighs more than 10 kg, long working hours that are not accompanied by adequate rest and other risk factors. tendency to fatigue, illness, accidents and an increased risk of MSDs. Farmers have received counseling every 3 months but not from health workers and not counseling related to ergonomics or work postures.
