Abstract

Educational institutions need to be critical in making strategic plans for human resource development. If not, there is a possibility that the educational institution will experience a decline in quality which can result in the closure of the educational institution. This study aims to find reliable strategies in human resource development using EFE, IFE, IE, and SWOT matrices. The method used is a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques of interviews, observations, document studies, and FGDs. The results of the study can be concluded that Indonesian Baptist Theological Seminary is in quadrant I position which means that the institution is in a growing and developing situation, the institution has high strengths and opportunities to support development policies, while the internal position is on average, which means that it is still not responding to opportunities and threats. Then the strategies obtained through the SWOT matrix are: 1) SO strategy: need to recruit students from GGBI members; institutions need to actively send information to social media regarding SST Baptist Indonesia news as a massive promotion; establish cooperation to increase the capacity of staff and employees through further education and training. 2) WO strategy: report the needs of facilities and infrastructure to the foundation for follow-up; conduct training for staff in utilizing existing information systems; train staff and employees to collaborate with other STTs and other institutions.3) ST strategy: mobilize teaching staff to play a role in outreach to teenagers; create a business unit to increase the added value of the institution for the welfare of employees. 4) WT strategies: Evaluate staff performance and conduct follow-up; hold a meeting with GGBI (Association of Baptist Churches of Indonesia) to discuss staff issues and find solutions.

Abstract

The National Potential Young Athlete Training Center (SLOMPN) is a form of real implementation of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON). A special program which is the initial solution for a long-term national sports policy. Resources that have relevance and potential are the professional group of Physical Education, Sports and Health Teachers (PJOK). The PJOK teacher's personal, professional and social responsibility is a great potential to support the success of SLOMPN. The process of scouting initial talent and providing input for young sportsmen who are within the scope of the school, is an integral part of the SLOMPN system. The form of real roles that PJOK teachers can contribute is very much determined by the initial conditions of their expectations. This research aims to examine the direction and quality of PJOK Teacher expectations in the complete series of SLOMPN implementation. The research was carried out by conducting a random survey of the expectations of PJOK teachers in the Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang (Joglosemar) areas through questionnaires (Google form). Several Focus Group Discussions (FGD) partially limited groups were conducted to obtain in-depth information and attitudes following up on questionnaire responses about expectations. The results of the research are that 81% of PJOK teachers in the 3 regions are willing to support the acceleration of SLOMPN, while 19% have not been involved in supporting the acceleration of SLOMPN.

Abstract

Local wisdom is a rich and unique cultural heritage owned by the people. However, this local wisdom has not been fully utilized as a learning innovation in elementary schools. This study aims to understand how local wisdom can be used as learning innovation in elementary schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The results of the study show that local wisdom can be used as learning innovation in elementary schools in various aspects, such as in learning languages, arts and sciences. Learning local wisdom can increase students' interest in learning and enrich their learning experience. In addition, learning local wisdom can also strengthen students' cultural identity and promote local wisdom to the younger generation. However, there are also challenges in implementing local wisdom learning in elementary schools, such as the lack of resources and support from the school and the government. Therefore, greater efforts are needed from the school, government and community to promote and integrate local wisdom as a learning innovation in elementary schools.

Abstract

Students need to master 21st-century skills from primary education to higher education, the aim is to respond to the paradigms and characteristics of 21st-century education. One of the activities to answer the challenges of 21st-century education is the development of learning models. This study aims to analyze the need to develop learning models to improve 21st-century skills for prospective science teacher students. The research method used is an Exploratory Sequential Mixed Methods Design with three stages, while the general procedure for developing learning models uses the ADDIE method (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The needs analysis in this research is part of the qualitative exploration stage related to the first stage of data collection, and the second stage is about the draft model development, or in the ADDIE method, it is included in the analysis and design stage. The research subjects were 10 science lecturers, 33 science education students, and 37 science teachers at junior high schools in the Semarang district. The innovative model developed is an Ethnoecological-STEAM project-based learning model (PjBL E-STEAM) with the utilization of water hyacinth to improve 21st-century 4C skills for students as science teachers’ candidates. The results of the needs analysis are the initial product of the model development that will be piloted, namely the syntax of the PjBL E-STEAM model (Learn, Discuss, Perform, Elaborate, Convey, Practice, Evaluate, and Use), the PjBL E-STEAM based Learning Module, and instruments to measure 21st-century 4C skills.
