Parapolitika : Journal of Politics and Democracy Studies is the official journal published by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Pembagunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta. This journal aims to publish any kinds of popular scientific papers or research discussing either political phenomena or social political thought. Publishing articles in this journal is the part of contributing to the development of political science. Parapolitika : Journal of Politics and Democracy Studies is published twice a year: in February and August. The Editorial Board of Parapolitika : Journal of Politics and Democracy Studies invites experts, scholars, practitioners, students, and intellectuals to submit their writings. Editors will select every manuscript submitted to Parapolitika : Journal of Politics and Democracy Studies using the blind reviewer mechanism from peer reviewers asked by editors. Reviewers of this journal come from national and international universities and academic institutions.

Abstract

Perempuan memainkan peran dan pengaruh penting dalam ruang politik Indonesia. Namun eksistensi perempuan masih dikesampingkan karena salah satunya budaya patriarki yang masih kuat. Meskipun demikian, hal ini terlihat jelas dalam berbagai peran di dalam partai politik, organisasi, dan bahkan di parlemen. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan politik perempuan masih sangat rendah, yang berarti status mereka dalam politik Indonesia masih sangat lemah. Maka dengan itu, penulis membuat penelitian yang berjudul “Kondisi Keterwakilan Politk dan Partisipasi Perempuan Pasca Reformasi Serta Situasinya Pada Periode Megawati dan Joko Widodo”. Tujuan dibuatnya penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui bagaimana perkembangan partisipasi politik perempuan pada pasca reformasi dan di era Megawati dan Joko Widodo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode kualitatif, yaitu dengan mengumpulkan data melalui analisis serta studi pustaka. Dari hasil penelitian berdasarkan studi pustaka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa partisipasi perempuan semakin terbuka karena salah satunya terdapat kebebasan yang mulai tercipta.

Abstract

The state is obliged to ensure that every citizen gets basic rights, however, in practice the state can fail to fulfill the basic rights of citizens. In Myanmar, cases of human rights violations have occurred for years, namely cases of human rights violations against the Rohingya. Current developments, the Rohingya are still in refugee camps in Bangladesh, because the Myanmar government has not given a sign to accept the Rohingyas back. The research methodology used is qualitative observation with a literature study approach. The observations used in our research use natural setting theory which aims to explore and explore in depth a meaning or problem. During the time the researcher made observations, the research understood and rewrote material related to important and interesting events or phenomena in the context of our group's research. The Rohingya group experienced discrimination from the government and civil society of Myanmar, namely in the form of restrictions on the right to marry and have children, not providing birth certificates, to destroying school buildings as well as mosques and prayer rooms. Myanmar also has the 1982 Citizenship Act to revoke Rohingya citizenship. Myanmar fulfills two important elements in the Internationally Wrongful Act, namely violations of international obligations and these actions can be attributed to Myanmar. The first settlement effort is through the establishment of the International Criminal Court to reconcile human rights violations. Second, efforts to determine the fate of the Rohingya ethnicity in terms of international law, researchers propose that Myanmar provide a membership principle, so that they gain access to education, the economy, and health or the Myanmar government can provide options for the Rohingya ethnic group to continue to join on condition that they are granted special autonomy or grant independence in a voluntary manner. absolute to them.

Abstract

Political communication is a crucial element that must exist among political actors because political communication can build the image of political actors in the eyes of society. Moreover, the presidential election in Indonesia will take place in about two years. Various issues regarding who will become the candidate pair in the 2024 Presidential Election have been frequently discussed by the media and the public. Various names of political figures are predicted to run for office in 2024. Various responses and public opinion regarding political actors also varied. Some voluntarily supported and some even openly disapproved of the issue of the intended political actor nominating himself in the 2024 presidential election. One example of such a political actor is Anies Baswedan. Anies himself is an example of a political actor who often uses social media to convey his political communications. Social media was chosen because it is the most accessible platform for two-way communication. Therefore, here we will analyze Anies Baswedan's style of political communication on social media and public opinion given by the public.

Abstract

Indonesia’s demand for energy to maintain its industrial development has grown significantly. As a consequence, Jakarta needs new energy sources to support the shortage of diesel and gasoline as the main resources. Saudi Aramco has been a vital partner to fulfil the energy supply considering its source and production capacity. This paper will scrutinise the joint venture project between Indonesian oil company, Pertamina and Saudi Arabian oil company, Saudi Aramco as an Indonesian strategy to overcome its growing need for oil and pursue its energy security. This qualitative research will employ the concept of the International Joint Venture (IJV to examine the role of the government of Indonesia in the negotiation and Implementation process and the challenges in implementing the project.

Abstract

Partisipasi dan Demokrasi adalah satu hal yang saling terikat, seperti halnya contoh dalam melakukan suatu perpolitikan. Dalam sebuah demokrasi harus ada sebuah partisipasi apapun bentuknya, seperti partisipasi pemerintahan maupun partisipasi rakyat dalam perpolitikan. Tetapi pada prakteknya banyak dari pihak rakyat yang kecewa akan politik yang berdemokrasi, partisipasi dalam perpolitikan dinilai sangat rendah dikarenakan menurunnya kepercayaan rakyat terhadap pemegang pemerintahan yaitu politisi elit. Hal ini menimbulkan kritik yang terus dilontarkan oleh rakyat akan Partisipasi dan Demokrasi dalam sebuah kewarganegaraan. Negara Thailand sendiri menganut sistem Monarki Konstitusional dalam pemerintahannya tetapi dalam kasusnya banyak masyarakat Thailand yang tidak menyukai pemerintahan Monarki tersebut dikarenakan kita bisa melihat dari UU yang telah dibuat yaitu UU Lese Majeste yang dimana dinilai masyarakat Thailand sebagai tembok untuk menutupi Demokrasi dan Partisipasi masyarakat dalam negaranya tersebut.

Abstract

Ketimpangan gender masih menjadi isu yang besar dan sering dibicarakan oleh banyak orang. Gender sendiri merupakan konstruksi pemikiran masyarakat atas suatu jenis kelamin. Konstruksi pemikiran masyarakat tentang jenis kelamin cenderung membentuk pemikiran patriarkis, yaitu pemikiran yang menempatkan posisi dan kekuasaan laki-laki lebih besar daripada perempuan. Kecenderungan persepsi masyarakat tentang gender ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai factor, seperti budaya, adat-istiadat dan agama. Pemikiran agama Islam yang dianut sebagian besar masyarakat di Indonesia, mempengaruhi persepsi masyarakat tentang gender. Pengaruh pemikiran Islam seringkali membentuk pemikiran yang cenderung bersifat patriarkis di kepala pemeluknya. Banyak pemeluk agama Islam menerima ajaran Islam secara tidak utuh, sehingga membentuk pemikiran yang melemahkan hak perempuan. Islam Liberal yang mengadopsi pemikiran liberal untuk dimasukan ke dalam ajaran Islam, tidak setuju dengan tafsir mentah yang dipercaya oleh masyarakat tentang gender. Pengaruh liberal membuat pemikiran Islam Liberal lebih memperhatikan tentang masalah patriarki dan hak perempuan. Islam Liberal mendukung untuk adanya kesetaraan gender di masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, guna membentuk penelitian yang mendalam dan komprehensif tentang pandangan Islam Liberal terhadap hak perempuan.
