Abstract

The development of technology at this time makes everyone easily access the internet, especially college students. College students can easily access the internet to help in finding references for assignments in their lectures. However, the internet also has a negative impact if the internet is used inappropriately. The negative impact of the internet is problematic internet use. This study aims to determine the relationship between problematic internet use and academic procrastination in Malang State University college students. The instruments used in this study were the Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale-2 (GPIUS-2) scale by Caplan (2010) and the Academic Procrastination Scale (APS) scale by McCloskey (2011). The data analysis used in this study consisted of categorisation tests and correlation tests using statistical calculations through the help of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) for Windows version 22 computer program. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between the problematic internet use variable and the academic procrastination variable in active internet user college students at State University of Malang Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi membawa dampak terhadap kemudahan mengakses internet, terutama pada mahasiswa. Mahasiswa dapat dengan mudah mengakses internet untuk membantu dalam mencari referensi untuk tugas dalam perkuliahannya. Namun, internet juga memberikan dampak negatif apabila penggunaan internet dilakukan secara tidak tepat. Dampak negatif dari internet tersebut dinamakan problematic internet use. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui interaksi antara problematic internet use dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Malang. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah skala Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale-2 (GPIUS-2) oleh Caplan (2010) dan skala Academic Procrastination Scale (APS) oleh McCloskey (2011). Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari uji kategorisasi dan uji korelasi menggunakan perhitungan statistik dengan program komputer SPSS for Windows versi 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang positif antara variabel problematic internet use dengan variabel prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa di Universitas Negeri Malang

Abstract

With the development of beauty standards in Indonesia, the popularity of skincare and its purchasing interest has also increased. Technological advancements have made it easier to share and receive information related to skincare products, which influences their purchasing decisions, such as through the mention confession account on Twitter. There are various types of mentions confession account created for different discussion topics and information, the one that relevant with skincare products is @ohmybeautybank. This study aimed to explore the relationship between self-esteem and impulsive buying of skincare products among followers of the mention confession account on Twitter. Data was collected using questionnaire using incidental sampling with the following criteria: 1) followers of the @ohmybeautybank Twitter account, and 2) buyers and users of skincare products. A total of 201 respondents obtained. Data were analyzed using Spearman Rank correlation with SPSS Statistics version 25 for Windows. The results showed that 1) there was a significant negative correlation between the self-liking dimension and impulsive buying of skincare products among followers of the @ohmybeautybank account on Twitter, and 2) there was a significant negative correlation between the self-competence dimension and impulsive buying of skincare products among followers of the @ohmybeautybank account on Twitter. AbstrakSeiring dengan berkembangnya standar kecantikan di Indonesia, popularitas skincare dan minat pembeliannya juga semakin meningkat. Perkembangan teknologi kemudian memberikan kemudahan bagi individu dalam menyebarkan dan menerima informasi terkait produk skincare yang kemudian berpengaruh dalam pembelian, salah satunya melalui akun mention confession di Twitter. Terdapat beragam jenis mention confession yang dibuat untuk topik diskusi dan informasi yang berbeda-beda, terkait produk skincare akun yang berkaitan adalah akun @ohmybeautybank. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara self-esteem dan impulsive buying pada produk skincare pengikut akun mention confession di Twitter. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dengan teknik incidental sampling berdasarkan pada kriteria berikut, 1) pengikut akun Twitter @ohmybeautybank, dan 2) pembeli dan pengguna produk skincare. Dari penyebaran kuesioner didapatkan sebanyak 201 responden. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi spearman rank dengan bantuan SPSS Statistics versi 25 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, 1) terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara dimensi self-liking dan impulsive buying pada produk skincare pengikut akun mention confession @ohmybeautybank di Twitter, dan 2) terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan antara dimensi self-competence dan impulsive buying pada produk skincare pengikut akun mention confession @ohmybeautybank di Twitter.

Abstract

Burnout is a prolonged individual response to emotional and interpersonal stressors. Burnout can be experienced by anyone, including workers, the higher a person's workload can increase the likelihood of a burnout condition. Although this is often considered trivial by many people. Burnout can be seen from three aspects, namely emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and decreased personal achievement. In this research article, researchers modified the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) scale from an adaptation of the scale to Indonesian called the Maslach-Trisni Burnout Inventory (M-TBI) by adding two aspects, namely low social support and demands. Participants in this study were men and women who were currently working. Modification of the burnout scale was carried out by testing the content validity using the Aiken's V formula, then item analysis using the help of the IBM SPSS 25 application in the form of discriminatory power, spurious overlap, and reliability with the Cronbach alpha formula. After that, categorization was carried out to determine the level of burnout in research participants. Abstrak Burnout merupakan suatu respons individu yang berkepanjangan terhadap stressor emosional dan interpersonal. Burnout dapat dialami oleh siapa saja, salah satunya pekerja, semakin tinggi beban kerja seseorang dapat meningkatkan kemungkinan kondisi burnout. Meskipun hal ini seringkali dianggap sepele oleh banyak orang. Burnout dapat dilihat dari tiga aspek yaitu kelelahan emosional, depersonalisasi, dan penurunan pencapaian pribadi. Dalam artikel penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan modifikasi terhadap skala Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) dari adaptasi skala ke bahasa Indonesia bernama Maslach-Trisni Burnout Inventory (M-TBI) dengan menambahkan dua aspek yaitu rendahnya dukungan sosial dan tuntutan. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu laki-laki maupun perempuan yang saat ini sedang bekerja. Modifikasi skala burnout dilakukan dengan uji validitas isi menggunakan formula Aiken’s V, kemudian analisis aitem menggunakan bantuan aplikasi IBM SPSS 25 berupa daya diskriminasi, spurious overlap, dan reliabilitas dengan formula alpha cronbach. Setelah itu dilakukan kategorisasi untuk mengetahui tingkat burnout pada partisipan penelitian.

Abstract

Turnover is a phenomenon that often occurs among generation Y employees in Indonesia. This study aims to reveal the causes and impacts of turnover among generation Y in Indonesia by using the literature review method. The authors searched and evaluated scientific sources related to the research theme from various media such as journals, books, internet, etc. The results showed that turnover among generation Y in Indonesia was influenced by several factors, such as: low employee engagement, work life balance imbalance, lack of career opportunities, and high job demands. Turnover among generation Y in Indonesia also caused some negative impacts, such as: decreased productivity and work quality, increased recruitment and training costs, and loss of organizational knowledge and skills. This study provides suggestions and recommendations for managers and HR practitioners to reduce turnover among generation Y in Indonesia by increasing employee engagement, creating a harmonious work life balance, providing fair and transparent career opportunities, and adjusting job demands to the abilities and interests of employees. Abstrak Turnover merupakan fenomena yang sering terjadi pada karyawan generasi Y di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap penyebab dan dampak turnover pada generasi Y di Indonesia dengan menggunakan metode literature riview. Penulis melakukan pencarian dan evaluasi sumber-sumber ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan tema penelitian dari berbagai media seperti jurnal, buku, internet, dll. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa turnover pada generasi Y di Indonesia dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, antara lain: rendahnya employee engagement, ketidakseimbangan work life balance, kurangnya kesempatan karier, dan tingginya tuntutan pekerjaan. Turnover pada generasi Y di Indonesia juga menimbulkan beberapa dampak negatif, seperti: menurunnya produktivitas dan kualitas kerja, meningkatnya biaya rekrutmen dan pelatihan, serta hilangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan organisasi. Penelitian ini memberikan saran dan rekomendasi bagi para manajer dan praktisi SDM untuk mengurangi turnover pada generasi Y di Indonesia dengan cara: meningkatkan employee engagement, menciptakan work life balance yang harmonis, memberikan kesempatan karier yang adil dan transparan, serta menyesuaikan tuntutan pekerjaan dengan kemampuan dan minat karyawan.

Abstract

In this current post-Covid-19 pandemic era, one of the challenges faced in the field of education is to return engaging or offline learning to the way it was before the Covid-19 pandemic. Changes in learning policies can have both positive and negative impacts, so it is necessary to make adjustments for each individual to face these challenges. Therefore, this study aims to find out about the adjustment of psychology students who undergo engaging learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological model. Data collection used semi-structured interviews with 3 participants who were Psychology students class of 2020, at the State University of Malang, and who were studying offline this year. The findings in the field showed that two of three participants had sufficiently adjusted to offline learning after the Covid-19 pandemic, however, the participants have not been able to see events objectively and realistically. Concurrently, another participant still showed poor self-adjustment, because she could not control her emotions well, experienced feelings of frustration, and could not see events objectively, and there were several conditions that made participants unable to learn optimally. Abstrak Di era post-pandemic Covid-19 saat ini, tantangan yang dihadapi dalam bidang pendidikan salah satunya yaitu kembalinya pembelajaran luring atau luar jaringan seperti saat sebelum pandemi Covid-19. Perubahan kebijakan pembelajaran dapat memiliki dampak positif maupun negatif, sehingga perlu adanya penyesuaian diri dari masing-masing individu untuk menghadapi tantangan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyesuaian diri mahasiswa psikologi yang menjalani pembelajaran luring. Metode penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur dengan 3 partisipan yang merupakan mahasiswa Psikologi angkatan 2020 Universitas Negeri Malang yang menjalani perkuliahan secara luring. Hasil temuan di lapangan yaitu dua partisipan cukup menyesuaikan diri dalam pembelajaran luring usai pandemi Covid-19, namun, belum dapat melihat kejadian secara objektif dan realistis. Sedangkan, satu partisipan lainnya menunjukkan penyesuaian diri yang kurang baik, dikarenakan belum dapat mengontrol emosi dengan baik, mengalami perasaan frustasi, dan belum dapat melihat kejadian secara objektif, serta terdapat beberapa kondisi yang membuat partisipan belum dapat belajar secara maksimal.
