Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is to describe students' attitudes toward learning Physics by looking at the level of enjoyment of students in learning Physics and their interest in increasing the time spent studying Physics at SMAN 08 Batanghari. The students' attitudes were analyzed from the indicators of students' attitudes towards Physics, namely the students' pleasure in learning Physics and their interest in increasing their time to study Physics. Methodology: The research sample data consisted of all classes X, XI and XII IPA. The sampling technique of this study is the total sampling technique. The sample used was 150 students. This type of research is Quantitative with a survey method. The instrument used is an attitude questionnaire. Data analysis in this study used descriptive statistics. Main Findings: The research results obtained showed that the indicator of enjoyment in learning Physics had the highest percentage of 47.3%, 71 students in the good category, and the indicator of interest in increasing the time to study Physics had the highest percentage, 62.0%, 93 students in the moderately good category. This shows that students' enjoyment in learning can be seen from the amount of time students spend studying Physics. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study is to identify students' attitudes through indicators of students' enjoyment of the Physics subject at SMA Negeri 08 Batanghari which aims to increase students' curiosity and a sense of enthusiasm in understanding physics concepts. As well as increasing indicators of interest in physics subjects by increasing the time to study physics which aims to improve student achievement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this research is to see an overview of the scientific attitude possessed by students at SMPN 17 Ksota Jambi based on indicators of adoption of scientific attitudes and indicators of interest in increasing science study time. Methodology: This research is a quantitative study, namely researchers using survey methods with data collection techniques using questionnaires. Main Findings: The results of the 2 attitude indicators discussed in this study are indicators of the adoption of a scientific attitude by 62.5% of students in the good category. While the interest in increasing the time to study science by 66.4% of students is in the sufficient category. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is an indicator used to describe the attitudes of students at SMPN 17 Kota Jambi, namely indicators of the adoption of a scientific attitude and an interest in increasing the time to study science.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to determine the level of students' science process skills and to determine the effect of using e-modules in the Basic Physics II practicum with the material melting heat of ice. Methodology: This research is a type of quantitative research with descriptive methods. The subjects in this study were 40 second semester students of Physics Education at Jambi University. The data collection instrument used was an observation sheet of science process skills that had been validated previously to assess students' science process skills in carrying out practicums. Data collection was carried out with the help of an observer who observed each student and the data was analyzed using statistical analysis. Main Findings: Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that the use of e-modules is effective in carrying out practicums and the average student science skill level is in the SB category (very good). Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of the research can be seen from the results of the research that has been done. It is evident that the E-module, apart from being easy to access and easy to carry around, also contains detailed information regarding practicum material. This is because the e-module is packaged in a web form that students can access anywhere and anytime, whereas using a conventional guide will result in a lack of efficiency because the more material is included, the heavier it will be and the more paper used to print the guide.

Abstract

Research Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze students' critical thinking skills in the reflection material on plane mirrors. The instrument used in this research is a matter of critical thinking skills Methodology: This type of research uses qualitative and quantitative research. With a sample of 84 students. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 23 program to obtain the mean, mode, median, maximum and minimum. Main Findings: Based on the results of this study, students' critical thinking skills are still low. Because students are less enthusiastic in the learning process, students also do not respond optimally to these problems, the student's concept understanding factor is still low, causing misconceptions. Novelty/Original Research: The novelty in this study is in the form of an analysis of students' critical thinking skills in the material of plane mirror reflection.

Abstract

Research Objectives: The objective of this study was to describe students' science process skills in simple pendulum material. Methodology: This research method is a mixed research method with a sequential explanatory research design. This research involved 100 students of Al-Falah Jambi Islamic High School. The instruments used were KPS observation sheets with 16 indicators and interview sheets which were analyzed statistically descriptively then analyzed qualitatively to strengthen the quantitative data. Main Findings: The results of the student KPS indicator were very good, namely on the observation indicator with a percentage of 71% of 100 students, while the results on the KPS indicator with a percentage of 66%. of 100 students namely experimenting skills. The lowest result is the presence of predictive indicators that identify variables, and make hypotheses with a percentage of 45%, 66% and 44%. These results indicate that students have sufficiently mastered several KPS in this simple pendulum material. Novelty/Original Research: How important it is for an educator to be able to improve students' science process skills so that they not only develop cognitive aspects, but also psychomotor aspects, according to the goals of education.
