Abstract

The research conducted aims to identify students' attitudes toward science subjects through two indicators, namely the pleasure of learning science and career interests in the field of science owned by students at Junior High School 17 Jambi City. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The subjects of this research were 128 students at Junior High School 17 Jambi city with a total of 128 students. Samples were taken using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that 72 people out of 128 respondents had sufficient attitudes in the pleasure of learning science and also had enough interest in a career in the field of science. The results of this study also showed that when a child likes to study science, the child also has a good interest in a career in the natural sciences.DOI: 10.24071/ijiet.2020.040108

Abstract

Sikap peduli lingkungan merupakan sikap yang perlu ditanamkan sejak usia dini yakni pada Pendidikan dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi sikap kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan agar dapat ditingkatkan. Untuk melihat sejauh mana rasa peduli siswa SMP terhadap lingkungan. Untuk melihat tingkat keberhasilan pendidik dalam menerapkan sikap peduli lingkungan peserta didik. Maka, peneliti tertarik untuk mengidentifikasi sikap peduli lingkungan siswa terutama di SMP Negeri 8 Kota Jambi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 8 Kota Jambi kelas VIII-H berjumlah 28 siswa dan kelas VIII-I yang berjumlah 28 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 56 siswa, 28 siswa (50%) mempunyai sikap peduli lingkungan yang sangat baik dan sebanyak 26 siswa (46%) mempunyai sikap peduli lingkungan yang baik. Selain ditinjau dari hasil penelitian, dapat juga dinilai melalui siswa yang membuag sampah pada tempatnya dan cara menyiram tanaman yang ada di depan kelas.

Abstract

In essence, the orientation of the 2013 curriculum is an increase and balance between attitudes, skills, and cognitive competencies. However, the current learning process is generally teacher-centered. so that through the use of a learning model that is following the 2013 curriculum it is expected to be able to make the learning process student-centered. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 8 Muaro Jambi on students of class X IPA 3 which aims to determine student responses when given a Problem-Based Learning model during the physics learning process. This research uses a mixed-method with an explanatory sequential design that combines quantitative and qualitative research systematically. Quantitative data in the form of a questionnaire student responses to problem-based learning model consisting of 20 statements and qualitative data in the form of interviews with students. Based on the results of the study it was found that the level of student response to the learning model was categorized quite well with a percentage of 56.5%. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the use of problem-based learning models in learning physics can increase student activity and improve student skills. This can be proven by seeing the students' responses in quite a good category. Through problem-based learning model students also feel responsible for formulating, analyzing, and solving problems. So that learning physics is more meaningful for students.

Abstract

The model of learning is one of the approaches of strategy that teachers must carry out in a systematic and procedural to regulate the activities of learning to achieve the goal of learning. The process of learning by using a model of learning inquiry can increase the activity of the students, the courage of students in revealing ideas and ideas, and improve students' science process skills in the physics learning process. The purpose of the research is to know how students' response to models of learning of inquiry was used at the time of learning physics and see whether the application of the model the students are more skilled in learning. Research is conducted in SMA Negeri 8 Muaro Jambi on student grade X IPA 1, which aims to determine students' response when given an inquiry learning model during the process of learning physics. The instrument that is used is a questionnaire of students with a sample of 21 students. This study used a mixed-method with a sequential explanatory design. The descriptive statistics were employed in the data analysis technique to obtain the average, mode, median, minimum, and maximum values. Based on the findings of this study, it is possible to conclude that using inquiry learning models in physics learning can boost student activity, independence, and science skills. This is demonstrated by the students' responses in quite good categories. Students feel accountable for formulating, analyzing, and solving problems when using the inquiry learning methodology. So that students can learn physics in a more meaningful way, and the material is easier to retain. The student response rate to the learning model is rated as satisfactory.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakter peserta didik, terutama karakter bersahabat pada peserta didik kelas VII dan VIII SMPN 16 Kota Jambi. Metodologi: Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Sedangkan jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu jenis penelitian survei dengan instrumen penelitian berupa angket. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII G, VII H, VII I, VIII I dan VIII J dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 153 siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi ganda menggunakan bantuan komputer dengan menggunakan Program Analisis Regresi SPSS Statistik 20. Pada penelitian ini mendeskripsikan hanya 2 indikator yaitu : dapat bekerja sama dan perhatian terhadap orang lain. Temuan utama: Berdasarkan hasil diperoleh bahwa peserta didik di SMPN 16 Kota Jambi sebanyak 78 dari 153 peserta didik dengan persentasi 51% dapat menerapkan indikator bekerja sama dengan baik dan sebanyak 56 dari 153 peserta didik dengan persentasi 56,9% dapat menerapkan indikator perhatian terhadap orang lain dengan baik. Keterbaruan penelitian: Keterbaharuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kerjasama dan perhatian siswa terhadap teman kelas.

Abstract

This research is a literature study with descriptive qualitative research type with library research which seeks to describe the application of the syntax of problem solving learning models in the 2013 curriculum. In this literature study research the authors use various written sources such as articles, journals and relevant documents with the studies in this study. This study focuses on the application of problem solving learning model syntax. The results of the study show that the syntax of the problem solving learning model is not in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum, it can be seen from the syntax that has not been able to improve the social attitudes of students. The next interesting research to be developed as research is the development of a problem solving learning model syntax to improve the social attitudes of students.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this research is to see an overview of the scientific attitude possessed by students at SMPN 17 Ksota Jambi based on indicators of adoption of scientific attitudes and indicators of interest in increasing science study time. Methodology: This research is a quantitative study, namely researchers using survey methods with data collection techniques using questionnaires. Main Findings: The results of the 2 attitude indicators discussed in this study are indicators of the adoption of a scientific attitude by 62.5% of students in the good category. While the interest in increasing the time to study science by 66.4% of students is in the sufficient category. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is an indicator used to describe the attitudes of students at SMPN 17 Kota Jambi, namely indicators of the adoption of a scientific attitude and an interest in increasing the time to study science.
