Abstract

This study seeks to examine the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on enhancing students' critical thinking abilities, as well as the statistically significant effects of PBL discovered. The comparison of pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental group demonstrated a statistically significant effect and enhancement. The statistical analysis produced a Z-value of -4.545 and an Asymptotic Significance (2-tailed) of 0.000 when comparing post-test and pre-test results in the experimental group. The significance level fell below the α = 0.05 criterion, resulting in the rejection of H₀. Consequently, a large disparity between the pre-test and post-test findings in the experimental group may be established. The study results indicated a notable enhancement in critical thinking abilities among students engaged in PBL relative to conventional learning approaches. Consequently, it can be inferred that the PBL learning paradigm enhances students' critical thinking abilities in statistics classes.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the augmentation of students' creative thinking skills by the application of the Realistic Mathematics approach in mathematics education, demonstrating an enhancement in student performance through this method. This study utilized a pre-experimental design featuring a single class as the experimental group that underwent the intervention, lacking a control group. The research subjects comprised students from diverse courses at MTS Hubbul Wathan Aek Nabara. Data were gathered through creative thinking ability exams conducted before and during the adoption of the Realistic Mathematics approach, together with observations made during the educational process. The study's findings demonstrated an improvement in students' creative thinking skills once the method was implemented. This progress was seen in students' ability to generate varied ideas, utilize several problem-solving strategies, and express answers in a more flexible and creative way. Moreover, student engagement in the learning process has increased. The results demonstrate that the Realistic Mathematics approach effectively improves students' creative thinking abilities in mathematics instruction. The findings indicate a substantial improvement among groups, with a one-way ANOVA revealing a F value of 234.850, degrees of freedom of 1.62, and a significance level of p < 0.001. Thus, the null hypothesis (H₀) is dismissed, and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is affirmed, signifying that the mean increase among groups is statistically significant and not due to random variation. Thus, the Realistic Mathematics Approach (RMA) learning model surpasses conventional educational techniques in improving student performance.

Abstract

This research intends to examine the impact of implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an educational tool on enhancing classroom management in mathematics instruction at SMPN 5 Bilah Barat. A quantitative methodology was employed, utilizing a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest framework. The participants included 28 students. Data collection occurred through pretests and posttests, which were then analyzed using the Paired Samples T-Test and ANOVA. The findings indicated a notable increase in the average score of students from 47.71 during the pretest to 88.54 following the posttest, with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), suggesting that AI-enhanced learning had a substantial influence. ANOVA results further demonstrated an F value of 395.578 with a significance level of 0.000., confirming that the observed differences in learning outcomes and classroom management were significantly influenced by the applied treatment. These findings indicate that the use of AI as a learning medium can create more effective mathematics classroom management, enhance student engagement, and support a more structured learning process. Therefore, AI can be considered a viable alternative for innovative mathematics learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in junior high schools is still procedural which causes low mathematical literacy of students. This study developed mathematical literacy-based teaching materials assisted by the Lumi platform for grade VII semester 1 and assessed its validity and practicality using the Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the AADIE model. The subjects of the study were grade VII students of Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta Junior High School. The data were obtained from expert review questionnaires and practicality assessments administered to teachers and learners, which were quantitatively analyzed using a Likert scale. The results showed that the teaching materials were very valid 94.85% from material experts, 97.5% from media experts, very practical 89.06% from teachers, and practical 79.13% from students so that the teaching materials were suitable for use in junior high school mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between time management, anxiety levels, and students' mathematics learning achievement. The background of the problem shows that students have good learning time management, but have high levels of anxiety in learning mathematics. However, there is a unique phenomenon in that students' mathematics learning achievement is also relatively high. The purpose of this study is to analyze the simultaneous relationship between variables using a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 32 eighth-grade students from MTSN 2 LabuhanBatu, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires on time management, student anxiety, and students' latest mathematics test scores. Data analysis was performed using the partial test (T-test) and ANOVA test using SPSS version 27. The results showed that time management had a positive and significant correlation with learning achievement, with a test result of 3.215, a t-table of 2.042 (calculated t > t-table), and a significant value of 0.003 < 0.05. Anxiety had a positive and significant correlation with learning achievement, with a test result of 2.479, t table 2.042 (t count > t table), with a significant value of 0.020< 0.05, and Time Management and Anxiety have a positive and significant effect on Learning Achievement with a research result where the f calculation value is greater than the f table value (89.874>3.32) with a significant value of 0.000<0.005. Conclusion: Students with good learning time management and anxiety levels. The conclusion is that students with good study time management and high levels of math anxiety become motivators who encourage students to study hard and improve their performance.
