Abstract

This paper proposed a new design of circular polarization E shaped patch microstrip antenna fed by proximity coupling for Wireless Fidelity applications at operating frequency of 2.4 GHz. To generate circular polarization in the proposed antenna, the next steps is making three slits on the patch antenna and with this embedded three slits produces antenna E shaped. Besides that, the proximity coupling fed line is used to increase the bandwidth of the proposed antenna. In this research the patch E shaped was put on the first substrate layer while the proximity coupling feeder was put on the second substrate layer. The substrate material used in this research is one of the two layers FR 4 Epoxy with relative dielectric constant ( r) of  4.4  and thickness (h) of 1.6 mm. The circular polarization can be achieved by adjusting the width and length of the E shaped antenna. The simulation of this research gave some important antenna parameters such as axial ratio value of 2.58 dB, return loss of -19.98 dB, VSWR of 1.223 and bandwidth of 151.3 MHz. Finally, its measurement results gave also some related comparative data such as return loss of -22.12 dB, VSWR of 1.16, bandwidth of 153.2 MHz, and Half Power Beamwidth of 580.

Abstract

This paper presents MATLAB/Simulink based modelling and simulation of rotor motion of 3-phase variable reluctance stepper motor to show electromechanical conversion process inside the motor when electricity fed to the motor. Stator part of the motor has a pair of salient pole per phase and rotor part has 8 teeth. Stator windings are wound around stator salient poles, while rotor part has no windings. Simulation process is started by the work to derive rotor motion equation based on stepper motor construction data using energy in coupling field method, then the equation is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink program. Simulating by variation of stator current frequency shows rotor part of the stepper motor rotates in 15 degree steps for any variant of stator current frequency.

Abstract

Planning of secondary distribution for residence is important that should consider the load, plan the distribution network, choose the conductor and determine the transformer capacity needed. In this planning, Manulai II Resident is counted as simple household that the transformer is divided into two different areas A and B. Twisted Cable NFA2X size 3x70mm; 3x35mm; 4x25mm; and 2x10mm are used. The research shows that losses and voltage drop are still in tolerance limit and the capacity needed for area A is 50 kVA and 25 kVA for area B.

Abstract

Monitoring the output parameters of a solar module is required for assessing its performance under real operating conditions. This paper presents a new technique for monitoring the output parameters i.e. current and voltage of solar module directly under real operating conditions. In this new monitoring technique, the output parameters of a solar module can be directly processed in real time condition and their results are displayed in a graph. The monitoring system is developed using microprocessor Arduino Atmega 328P and equipped with calibrated current and voltage sensors, a data acquisition system which is integrated directly into an Excel spreadsheet using the PLX-DAQ application program and a memory card for backup. The monitoring system is connected to a computer using a RS232 serial port. The collected data is saved directly into a spreadsheet and plotted in real time. This technique provides an easy access to the collected data for further analysis.

Abstract

Developing technology can facilitate work activities, one of which is technology in the field of robotics. One of the purposes of creating the robot was to assist in investigating suspected targets. The target can be a gas source leak object. On the other hand, gas leaks in industrial estates have a large impact on the environment. Robots are needed to facilitate the inspection process of targets suspected of gas leakage. Robots generally have systems that are integrated with sensors as interfaces and intelligent computing. In this study mobile robots and manipulators have been designed and have the purpose of inspecting objects suspected of being gas leaks. This robot system is called a mobile robot manipulator equipped with a wireless camera for object detection, two gas sensors for aroma detection, each sensor is mounted on the end-effector manipulator and next to the camera. The methods used in robots are fuzzy logic and cubic trajectory. Fuzzy logic is used to navigate robots to objects, and cubic trajectory for navigating manipulators based on the specified route. In the experiments that have been done, the mobile robot can navigate to the target until it stops at a distance of 20cm, and the manipulator is also successful in navigating. In the testing instrument, two leaking points have been determined. Each point is tested six times. The robot succeeded in detecting gas leaks with a success rate of 91.67%, and the position of coordinates read by the manipulator can be observed through the monitor.

Abstract

The heart is one of the vital organs in the circulatory system. Regular checkups are very important to prevent heart disease. The most basic examination is blood pressure then further examination is related to the evaluation of the electrical activity of the heart using an electrocardiogram (ECG). The ECG carries important information regarding various abnormalities of heart function. Several automated classification techniques have been proposed to facilitate diagnosis. However, not all digital ECG devices provide raw data for analysis. ECG classification method based on images can be an alternative in classification. Therefore, in this study, it is proposed to classify ECG based on signal images. The proposed classification method uses transfer learning with VGG, AlexNet, and DenseNet architectures. The method used for the classification of multi-class ECG consists of normal, PVC, Atrial Fibrilation, AFL, Bigeminy, LBBB, and APB. The simulation results generate the best accuracy of 92% and F1-score of 92%. Best performance is achieved using DenseNet architecture at 60 epochs. This study is expected to be a new reference technique in the classification of ECG signals.

Abstract

This paper proposes a new method for modeling and integrating wind turbine generating system (WTGS) into power flow analysis. The proposed WTGS model is based on the slip calculation of the WTGS induction generator. Unlike some previous methods where machine slip is determined after the iteration process has been completed, in the proposed method, machine slip is included in the calculation or iteration process and computed together with other electrical quantities. In this way, the formulation for induction generator rotor voltage (which isusually complicated and often represented by bi-quadratic equation) is no longer needed in the modeling. Validation results show that the proposed method is accurate. The application of the WTGS model in load flow analysis of the multi-bus electric power system is also presented. In addition, the effect of WTGS installation on system steady-state performance is also investigated in this paper.

Abstract

Recently, the applications of face recognition are increasing significantly. Some methods have already been tried, but the results have not optimal yet. This paper tries to overcome this problem, using haar cascade as face detection algorithm, whereas face recognition uses local binary pattern histogram method. This system uses a webcam as a camera and programming exploit OpenCV library. This system enables to differentiate the face of the human with others objects with the best range from the camera to the object is 50 cm until 150 cm. In addition, this system is capable to recognize faces from the 6 subjects of faces listed in the database, alone and in a group as well in one frame.
