Abstract

Most of Indonesia’s territory consists of oceans, presenting a significant potential for developing the fisheries sector. Shrimp is among Indonesia’s flagship commodities with substantial export potential. Internationally, Indonesia holds the fourth position as the largest exporter of frozen shrimp globally. However, shrimp cultivation faces various challenges, including declining water quality due to factors such as water sources and weather, which can adversely affect harvest yields. To preempt potential failures, employing smart devices and technology in shrimp cultivation offers an effective and efficient solution for monitoring and management. This study aims to analyze water quality monitoring in ponds considering the speed of data transmission from end devices to fog using Quality of Service (QoS) parameters like delay/latency, throughput, and packet loss. Data transmission tests were conducted at data rates of 5 Mbps and 10 Mbps, with a bandwidth of 1500 Mbps. The study involves three sensors—water temperature, pH, and salinity—placed in shrimp ponds. Test results showed a decrease in throughput by 1.54% at the sensor node and 2.99% at the sink node when packet data delivery encountered barriers like obstacles. There was a 74.13% increase in latency when the delivery distance extended to 35 meters. The achievable delivery range with low latency was up to 10 meters with barriers and 25 meters without. Thus, latency and throughput values vary depending on the presence of barriers and transmission distance. Barriers tend to increase latency and decrease throughput.

Abstract

The protection of data security is crucial, particularly when dealing with the transmission of sensitive information through communication networks. This article explores the Advanced Encryption Standard 128-bit (AES-128) algorithm as an effective and secure cryptographic solution. The paper proposes the dynamic development of the AES-128 cryptography method by implementing a dynamic key to enhance the security of employee attendance data. The dynamic key involves changing the encryption key every minute, providing an additional security layer and reducing the risk of decryption by unauthorized parties. Test results indicate that the dynamic AES-128 encryption algorithm demonstrates optimal performance. The consecutive encryption and decryption speeds for sending attendance data are 14656.78 bit/s and 21898.21 bit/s, respectively. The consistent duration of the encryption and decryption processes, at 6.66ms and 2.44ms, along with an Avalanche Effect rate of 50.73% and an Entropy of 6.67 bit/symbol, emphasizes the algorithm’s efficiency and stability. This research not only reinforces the desired level of security but also outperforms several previous studies. Analyzed performance data indicates that this method is not only efficient but also stable in maintaining data security, addressing significant variations in data length. Thus, the implementation of dynamic AES-128 cryptography in attendance systems provides a significant advantage in addressing information security challenges in the current digital era.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of solar energy as a clean and widely available alternative. The performance of solar panels is influenced by various factors including solar radiation, module, temperature, and distribution of the sunlight spectrum. Temperature issues in solar panels can be addressed through passive cooling, such as installing a heatsink. A passive cooling system is implemented by installing a heatsink with four layers of fins on the body panel of the solar module. The advantage of passive cooling with constellations is that it does not require additional energy from outside, while a large number of fins can achieve the best passive cooling constellation. Each heatsink utilizes eight fins with a total of three heatsinks, manufactured from aluminum. Vector values of wind speed, humidity, and temperature are studied through direct measurements. A 100 W polycrystalline solar module at a standard temperature of 25 ℃ produces an open circuit voltage of 22 +V.

Abstract

The technology of light tracking monitors the solar panels to track the sun with full efficiency, and the solar panels can be upright to the sunlight in order to maximize the absorption of solar energy, so this system has a higher efficiency than non-tracking systems. This study aimed to obtain a controller that works accurately between the Proportional, Integral, and Derivative Controller (PID) and the Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) Algorithm by comparing the performance of the two algorithms in regulating the direction of the light tracker to detect the presence of sunlight. This solar prototype uses nine lamps as a simulation to determine the accuracy and precision of the angles of the two light trackers. The parameters compared in this test were the aspects of angular velocity and angle accuracy. The mean value of angular velocity obtained from the PID light tracking test results was 0.16 rad/s and the average linear velocity was 0.092 m/s whereas in the FLC light tracker, the average angular velocity value was 0.207 rad/s. Tests using a PID light tracker resulted in an X-axis accuracy of 45% and a Y-axis accuracy of 30%. The FLC light tracker, on the other hand, had an X-axis accuracy of 80% and a Y-axis accuracy of 30%.The precision value obtained by the PID light tracker on the X axis was 45% and the Y axis was 38%, while the precision value obtained by the FLC light tracker on the X axis was 71% and the Y axis was 33%. Based on the overall calculations, it can be concluded that the FLC light tracker has an increase in the speed value of 29% and an increase in the value of accuracy in the accuracy aspect by 35% and the precision aspect by 26% compared to the PID light tracker in previous studies.

Abstract

Identity (ID) card forgery remains a significant issue in Indonesia, often leading to crimes such as identity theft and fraud. To address this challenge, this study proposes the development of an identity authentication system that integrates near field communication (NFC) and facial recognition based on K-nearest neighbors (KNN) algorithm. The primary objective of this system is to enhance the security of ID card (KTP) data and to ensure efficient and accurate access to services requiring identity verification. The system stores facial data and ID card information securely in Firebase, which serves both as a user authentication platform and a secure cloud-based storage solution. The application, developed using Flutter, incorporates facial recognition for biometric verification, while NFC is employed as an additional authentication layer to provide dual-factor verification and reinforce identity security. Experimental results demonstrate that the facial recognition based on KKN achieved an accuracy rate of 100% with a false acceptance rate (FAR) of 0%, indicating a highly reliable performance. These findings confirm that the integration of facial recognition and NFC technologies offers a robust and effective solution to combat ID card forgery, thereby improving the overall reliability and security of the population data authentication system in Indonesia.

Abstract

Customer satisfaction is a key factor of success in service-based industries and is equally important in technical service environments such as PT XYZ’s mechanical repair workshop, which provides civil works, welding, machinery, and valve maintenance services. This study aims to assess service quality and identify the primary factors influencing customer satisfaction, with the objective of formulating strategic improvements tailored to the workshop setting. A quantitative research approach was adopted, incorporating the SERVQUAL dimensions and the Total Quality Management (TQM) framework, while customer loyalty was measured using the Net Promoter Score (NPS). The study involved 93 internal respondents from various organizational units, with work experience ranging from less than five years to more than twenty years. Results indicate a high level of satisfaction, with a Net Promoter Score of 57.29% and an Internal Customer Satisfaction (ICS) Index of 86.9%. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that service quality and Total Quality Management collectively explained 84.3% of the variance in customer satisfaction. Importance and Performance Analysis (IPA) identified education and training, customer focus, and reliability as the top strategic improvement priorities. From an operational perspective, the most frequently requested services included pump shaft fabrication (item code 63-GA-6004, 30 hours), shaft sleeve fabrication (63-GA-6004, 16 hours), and shaft sleeve fabrication (56-GA-4002, initially 36 hours). Following the implementation of these improvements, the workshop achieved a 20 percent reduction in average processing time and completed 182 service activities within two months, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
