Abstract

The aim of the study is to know the process of making outsole with injection molding machine along with the problems and solutions by observation, interview, and internship program in the company. The material used is thermoplastic rubber (TPR) with hardness 70-75. The method used is injection molding. The process of outsole production begins with machine preparation, and is followed by material preparation, injection process, checking, finishing, packing and delivery. The result shows that Chancay finished goods were tested manually with the organoleptic and physical methods in accordance with the provision of the buyers. Percentage of the outsole rejects is amounted up to 7,57 % from the results of the production; i.e short shoot and sponge. Problem solving proposed is to adjust the machine settings on optimal conditions with the temperature of the nozzle 175°C. of barrel zone I 175°C, of zone II 170°C, and of zone III 165°C. An optimal cooling time is four seconds and optimal injection time is eight seconds, in which trial was conducted and obtained improvement of outsole quality and reject product reduction as much as 4.9 %. In conclusion the outsole should be produced by both appropriate and controlled machine setting parameters in accordance with the on-time availability of materials in the injection molding process.

Abstract

As a shoe bottom component, outsole has an important role to give comfort and safety for users, therefore its quality must fulfill the standard. Defect of a product is one of quality indicator which can be directly noticed by consumers. The purpose of this study is to provide information about the application of Six Sigma method with DMAIC concept to improve the outsole quality of sports capsule shoes “Geoff”. Data of the outsole production of sport capsule shoes “Geoff” are required. The results show that the dominant defect is colour migration. The calculation shows that DPU is valued 0,2123, DPO 0,0009097, DPMO 14,2146, and sigma 3; and the result of statistic test for Chi – Square is 4,628. The analyzed result shows that the defect is caused by several factors, they are material, human, machine and method. Repairing action of the defect is done by using Poka – Yoke. The Six Sigma can be applied to Outsole Company in order to suppress the defect until it reaches the least value (Zero Defect) i.e. 3,4 ppm.

Abstract

The effort could be done to reduce formaldehid concentration in the water waste formaldehide glove snow white tannage are react formaldehide with H2O2 and NaHSO3. In this research, mol ratio to formaldTehide in two compound are variation (1: 0,5 , 1:1, 1:2 dan 1:3), then mixing about 1 hour where every 15 minutes we do sampling. The results are more greater mol ratio and time will give more formaldehide concentration could be reduced. From statistic models, shown that mol ratio 1: ½ to 1: 1 not significant in H2O2 compound, in mol ratio 1: 0,5 to 1:1 and 1:1 to1: 2 not significant in NaHSO3 compound. NaHSO3 have more abitllity to reduce formaldehide concentration than H2O2, in mol ratio to formaldehid 1: 3, in 60 minutes shown that 84% formaldehid reduced in NaHSO3 compound and 24% formaldehid reduced in H2O2 compound

Abstract

Pucung known as leather carving crafts center in Yogyakarta, who uses parchment leather material (not leather tanned) in the manufacture of production. In addition to leather puppet as flagship product, well made product variants such as lamp shades and souvenirs. The existence of this center which is located adjacent to the king's funeral, are bound up with the existence of the palace of Yogyakarta. This study aims to find out why these craft products stagnant innovation development. In examining these kind of issues, the approach of Pierre Bourdieu's habitus which include, capital, arena, distinction, and symbolic violence were used. The existence of conventional rulus (pakem) in the puppet shadow also have an impact on the development of innovative products less made Pucung crafters.

Abstract

Shoes is a footwear consisting of a sol, right, hood, strap, and tongue. High heels become one of the main attraction for women due to wearing high heels can support the appearance of a woman. High-heeled shoes have several sizes and shapes. A shoemaker should take into calculate the volume of the foot while making shoes. The higher the heel is used, then the assumption of the volume of the foot will change as well. How big is the change in the volume of the foot which in this case is represented by the shoe last as the coppier to change shoes high heels become into research questions. The author in this case chose the title "Effect Of Heel Height Change In Leg Volume Calculated From Shoe Last". Volume calculations performed on the test specimens in the form of shoe last measuring 37 standard models and taper at the heel height 1, 3, 5, and 7 with specimens amount 3 pieces for each size. Volume measurements performed by the method of measurement of static and dynamic volumes. Static measurement using the weighing technique to obtain the speci Dynamic calculations by measuring the volume using a measuring tool. Research data showed a linear equation for the volume of each test specimen: static calculations; y = 0,0194x + 553.16 (size 37 standard models); y = 0,0065x + 564.75 (size 37 models taper). For dynamic calculation: y = 0,1033x + 552.12 (size 37 standard models); y = 0,0033x + 563.4 (size 37 models taper). High heel changes does not significantly influence the volume of the foot, which is calculated from the shoe last as foot replica in high heel with a different size, the volume is calculated as static or dynamic.

Abstract

Very hard competition in industrial world forces each industry to focus on product quality. Quality control play important role. In other side product quality is not only limited on one quality characteristic but on some characteristics that need special method in controlling. The research applied quality control method of P multivariate control chart in PT Forta La Rese a producer of safety shoe and was done in lasting process. In lasting process section, of 15 defect types, there were only 7 defect types that were consistent and often occur. So, this quality control used the seven defect types consisting of wrinkled, incline lasting, rough assembly, rough smoothing, torn leather, crack, and defect leather. Production process of safety shoe in PT Forta La Rese in lasting process indicated statistically uncontrolled results. It was due to four observations (5, 8, 13, and 21) that were above upper control limit. Based on analysis there were 6 defect types as dominant cause of entire defect proportion above upper control limit consisting of defect leather, wrinkled, torn leather incline lasting, rough assembly and crack. Causes of the defects are low quality of leather material and operator error in leather checking process, assembly and lasting process.

Abstract

With increasing global competition, the company is required to always pay attention to the market and compete situation more competitive in determining strategy. Competitive strategy is one way to determine the competitiveness of each strength. Use of an effective SWOT analysis can play an important role in determining the competitive strategy, in order to know the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by enterprise IT in maintaining the viability and continuity of the company. A problem in which you want to find the answer in this study is "" whether SWOT strategy analysis is appropriate in order to improve production on Integration and how competitive strategy applied by the company in addressing global competition.? "". In connection with the proposed hypothesis problem as follows: "" allegedly using SWOT analysis to increase sales so the company experienced profits (surplus) "". This study uses primary data by giving questionnaires and secondary data to acquire archives or documents Along with the problem and research hypothesis, the research is done by using analytical methods IFAs to analyze the internal factors, the analysis of EFAS to external factors, then, included into the model kuantitif ie SWOT matrix. Abstract

The existence of a melting pot Sekaten in Yogyakarta and all arena shows the main attraction. Performing Tong Satan attractions become one of the main attraction for spectators adrenaline aspect that carried on at the attraction. The problem is the motor driver of Tong Satan does not use a safety riding equipments such as leather gloves, leather jackets, boots and helmets, otherwise the attractions was a dangerous attraction. The aim of this study was to determine the safety aspect of bikers riding on Tong Satan relates to the needs of the show. Ethnographic approach used to obtain the depth of information on the show of Tong Satan. The phenomenon of using safety riding equipments that are not used by the riders because they prefer the interest of the audience who want a dangerous attraction. Symbolic interactionism occured between riders as show performer with the audience, where the dangerous attractions are shown without protective safety riding equipments (leather jackets, shoes, helmets, and gloves), the more boisterous spectators welcome.

Abstract

Solid waste from buffing process in Leather Tanning Industries contains trivalent chromium salt. The trivalent chromium can be immobilized by using it as raw matexal in concrete manufacturing. Worst scenario was used in this chromium-r ease modeling also. The concrete was freely exposed to the environment and one side of the concrete was in continuous contact with water. The modeling result give us information that trivalent chromium can released to the body of the water, but it need long period until its concentration in water reached government regulation (l mg/L)

Abstract

Gelatin is one type of protein extracted from skin collagen tissue, bone or animal ligament. This study aims to determine the physical and chemical properties of bovine leather split gelatin extracted with acid and base with different extraction temperatures. The materials used are bovine leather split as much as 10 kg. The material is divided into six treatments and three replications is TlRl, T1R2, T1R3 (curing in NaOH 3%, extraction temperature of 60° C, 70° C, 80° C) and T2Rl, T2R2, T2 (curing in HCl 3%, extraction temperature 60 ° C, 70 ° C, 80 ° C). Analysis of data using completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern when there are differences to be continued test of Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the effect of curing materials and extraction temperature significantly to yield, water content, ash content, protein content, fat content, gel strength, viscosity and pH gelatin. The average yield of the parameters measured were as follows: acid yield of 14.36%, 13.31% base; Acid water content 6.93%, 8.33% base; Acid ash content of 4.29%, 3.29% base; Protein acid content of 61.34% , 59.85% base; Fatty acid content of 2.53%, 1.99% base; gel strength bloom 100.05 acids, bases 103.92 bloom; viscosity acid of 6.59 cp , 6,95 base and acid pH of 5.68, base is 7.3 Bovine leather split can be made of gelatin with an acid or base curing materials
