Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of educational management at Madrasah Diniyah Sore PP. Miftahul Ulum Putri, a non-formal Islamic educational institution that complements evening diniyah learning. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that educational management at the madrasa has been effectively implemented across four key dimensions: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Planning is conducted contextually, albeit without formal documentation. The organizational structure is well-established with systematic class levels, while instructional delivery focuses on the afternoon session as an introductory overview for evening diniyah lessons. Evaluation is performed informally through direct observations of student engagement and comprehension. The presence of the afternoon diniyah program has demonstrably enhanced the academic preparedness and spiritual growth of female students in a sustainable manner. However, challenges remain in integrating technology and establishing measurable evaluation systems. Therefore, strengthening management through documentation and pedagogical innovation is both essential and urgent to enhance the madrasa’s effectiveness and relevance in the modern era.

Abstract

The ongoing education process for children depends heavily on adequate facilities and infrastructure. Effective facility management creates a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable learning environment, thereby improving the quality of education. In the context of early childhood education, particularly in kindergartens, the availability of play equipment, child-friendly classrooms, and safe play areas is crucial. Sunan Ampel PGRI 2 Kindergarten is committed to providing supporting resources to foster comprehensive child development. The school uses a collaborative approach in managing these facilities, involving school leaders, teachers, the school committee, and parents to ensure that facility planning is responsive to children's developmental needs. However, challenges, including budget constraints and community participation, can hinder ideal management practices. Despite these obstacles, improvements have been seen since 2020 thanks to the active support of the school committee. The presence of essential educational facilities and infrastructure is crucial for creating an effective and interactive learning environment. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to examine how facilities and infrastructure are managed at Sunan Ampel PGRI 2 Kindergarten, including direct observation, stakeholder interviews, and documentation analysis. The research findings revealed that the school has developed a well-organized facility system that encourages active learning. Continuous collaboration, regular evaluation, and community involvement are crucial to maintaining and improving these facilities. Effective facility management at Sunan Ampel PGRI 2 Kindergarten plays a crucial role in ensuring a conducive learning environment for optimal child growth and development, demonstrating the importance of school-community partnerships in improving educational quality.

Abstract

Islamic character education is an important aspect in shaping students' personalities in the school environment. To support this, effective and contextual educational management is needed. This article aims to examine the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) in strengthening Islamic character education at Al-Firdausy Middle School. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of Islamic programs run by the school. The results show that SBM provides flexibility for schools in designing and implementing religious programs, such as congregational Dhuha prayers, morning recitation of Surah Al-Waqi'ah, and local content learning in the form of yellow book studies. These programs have proven effective in fostering the values of religiosity, discipline, and responsibility in students. The implementation of SBM, which is participatory and focused on educational quality, has encouraged the formation of a school environment that supports the formation of Islamic character comprehensively and sustainably.

Abstract

The Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach offers a strategic alternative for developing Islamic education that is more inclusive and transformative. Unlike conventional research, PAR positions the community as the primary agent of change rather than merely a research subject. This article aims to explore the history, definition, key principles, and application of the PAR approach in the development of Islamic education. Through library research and qualitative content analysis, it is found that PAR provides active space for community participation in designing, implementing, and evaluating education based on local needs. PAR emphasizes the importance of reflection, collective action, and empowerment. In the context of Islamic education, PAR can revitalize values such as justice, consultation (shūrā), and reciprocity as ethical foundations for social transformation. This article recommends integrating PAR into community service programs, curriculum development, and efforts to improve the quality of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic role of "salafiyah" Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in shaping the character and moral foundation of the younger generation, focusing on a case study at Pondok Pesantren Al Fatah 1 Singosari, Malang. In the face of globalization and the erosion of traditional values, pesantren offer a distinctive educational model that integrates religious learning with character development. Through traditional teaching methods such as "sorogan", "bandongan", and "musyawarah", as well as daily collective life practices, pesantren instill values of discipline, humility, respect, and responsibility. The use of classical Islamic texts ("turats") enhances not only religious knowledge but also spiritual depth and ethical conduct. Moreover, the exemplary leadership of Kyai Farihin Muhsan and the family of "ndalem"(kyai’s household) serves as a living model for santri, reinforcing values through daily interactions filled with respect, empathy, and consistency. This study concludes that "salafiyah" pesantren, with their balanced emphasis on religious, cultural, and practical values, play a vital role in preparing morally upright and resilient individuals in the modern era.
