Abstract

Air is one of the elements that support life on Earth. Without air, humans and animals cannot breathe, and plants cannot photosynthesize. Quality air is often influenced by pollutants. Because that is, air pollution can be interpreted as the presence of foreign objects or substances in the air that change the composition of the air from normal to bad. In the research, the method used is the development method with the Research approach. And Development (R&D), method development Which used In this study, the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) model was used. This study was conducted to obtain accuracy from the overall system testing. Testing on quality monitoring air use sensor MQ 135 (For air), sensor DHT 11 (for temperature and humidity sensors), OLED LCD ( hardware interface ), and ESP 8266 microcontroller have been completed. This system can be used by all parties as an air quality control system, for indoor temperature and humidity using Thingspeak.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face the challenge of surviving and competing with other MSMEs and other higher forms of corporations, which need a very fast and rapid decision-making process. This study aims to implement digital transformation, especially in MSMEs, by using an interactive dashboard called Tableau. This research was conducted in Vifas Batik Yogyakarta and used interviews, observations, and documentation to gather the data. This research also goes through some process from designing and implementation itself. Due to the implementation process, it can be concluded that the use of an interactive dashboard can easily and quickly help business owners to know their business performance better. This research also provides practical contributions for other MSMEs with similar issues and adds to the accounting information system literature about the implementation of business intelligence towards MSMEs' decision-making processes.

Abstract

The background of this research is based on automation, where automation is a technology used to carry out work processes or procedures without human assistance.  In the current era of the industrial revolution 4.0, manual activities that use human labor are starting to decrease and are replaced by automated systems and tools in order to streamline and effectively operate a field of work. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) can be defined as a microcomputer-based controller that uses programmed in-memory instructions to apply logic, sequencing, timing, counting and arithmetic functions via digital or analog input/output (I/O) modules   , to control the machine and process. This PLC is commonly used in the industrial world as a tool for automation of production machines.  Automation of the watering system in the garden aims to water the garden without using human labor.  The research stage begins with literature study and field observation activities followed by the design  of ladder diagrams on PLCs. The PLC ladder diagram simulation that was then implemented in the field has been carried out and the automation of this garden watering system can run well with a shorter waterng time (15 min) and less water consumption (27.4 lt) and can operate without human intervention.

Abstract

Cultivation hydroponics becomes a solution for efficient modern agriculture, especially in the use of land and water. However, maintaining stability of pH and TDS/EC parameters remains become main challenge. Research: This developed system is based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using an ESP32 microcontroller for monitoring and adjusting automatic pH and TDS in cultivating lettuce. Integrated pH and TDS sensors with an actuator automatically in the form of a pump, micro and DC motors, which are controlled in real-time via the Flutter app and Firebase cloud storage. Test results show that the system succeeds in maintaining the pH in the range 6.0–7.0 for 96.44% of the time operations and TDS in the range 560–840 ppm for 96.79% of the time testing. The Paired Samples t-Test produced a p-value of 0.289 for pH and 0.595 for TDS. This value is more than 0.05, so there is no significant relationship in statistical relationship between the condition before and after automation. That is, the system automatically has no significant influence on parameter values, but is capable of guarding its stability consistently. Thus, the system is effective in managing hydroponic water quality in an automatic way.

Abstract

The rise of antibiotic-resistant uropathogens has intensified the search for alternative antimicrobial agents, particularly from medicinal plants. Piliostigma thonningii, traditionally used to treat infections in African ethnomedicine, was investigated for its antibacterial efficacy against Gram-negative bacteria isolated from urine samples. Urine samples were collected and cultured on MacConkey agar. Pure isolates were subjected to Gram staining and a series of biochemical tests for identification following standard protocols. Crude leaf extracts of P. thonningii were prepared and subjected to phytochemical screening. Antibacterial activity was assessed using the agar well diffusion method at 100–400 mg/mL concentrations, with ciprofloxacin (10 µg) serving as a reference standard. Escherichia coli was the most prevalent isolate (51.43%), followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae (28.57%) and Enterobacter cloacae (20.00%). Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and terpenoids. The extract demonstrated dose-dependent antibacterial activity, with the highest inhibition against E. coli (23.0 ± 4.79 mm at 400 mg/mL). Although ciprofloxacin showed superior activity, the plant extract exhibited considerable zones of inhibition, particularly at higher concentrations. The study supports the traditional use of P. thonningii for treating bacterial infections and highlights its potential as a source of bioactive compounds. Further studies are needed to isolate active constituents, evaluate toxicity, and validate efficacy through in vivo models.
